Toenail. It was chewy... NASTY!
Brennan B.

Went there about a week ago, got a Big Mac, turns out I bit into and found a crusty toe nail. Talked to the manager and she said "I don't give a fu*k." Not a very good way to talk to your customers. It's a very noisy and loud environment in the building, slow service. Never going here again. "I'm not mlovin it"

Royal Farms - Hot Coffee and Chicken

Factually speaking.....and the reason why "I" and so many others go to WaWa Convenience store vs…read more Royal Farms. I walked in about 11:15pm (traveling thru town) and I walked to the beverage section. I wanted to get 1 beer and when I went to open the door, I saw that the door was "pad locked". Ok. I walked to the front counter and patiently waited my turn. When my turn was next I said with a smile 'Hey, I see the beer section is closed. Have you stopped selling beer?". (I know that VA sells beer up until 12:00 midnight). The woman whom was dressed sloppily, said to me, "we lock the doors cuz people be stealing them". "I can open it for you" she said. "Ok" i said. So as we mosied over to the beer section I asked innocently, "So, what time do you lock the doors?". She said we locked them at midnight. I said...ok....but they are locked now. So what time do you normally lock them?. She said "We lock them at midnight". At this pont we had gottne to the doors of the beer section. I tugged on the door and pointed to the padlock that was restricting me from opening the door. I then said. 'But it is locked now". "So even though you lock them permanently for the night at midnight, what time do you lock the doors". She said" We lock them at midnight. Whaddya you want.?" Ok. So now I know what I am dealing and presented with. I said, " I decided that I am not thirsty". And I began to leave. Then this sloppily dressed worker muttered something under her breath and I was HAPPY to leave. Royal Farms is a sad option for a convenience store. WaWa patrons and employees are all so friendly. But when you go to Royal Farms/joke, the personnel are less than friendly, the patrons dont hold the door for you like they do at WaWa's. It is truly a lesson in building a brand, And the Royal Farms brands is unsatisfactory. I don't go to the Royal Farms 1 mile from my house either. I had a negative experience with a MANAGER there. Ill save that story for another day.

It was lunchtime, and we passed the Sage Diner, which was packed, so we turned around and decided to stop in. This is not a fancy place, and it seemed like about 99% of the customers were locals. The hostess greeted us and seated us in a booth. Shortly after, a gentleman came over to take our drink order. We both ordered tea. I tried mine and didn't care for it -- it tasted like fountain tea -- so I switched to a soda. For lunch, my wife ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, which came with a cup of soup. She chose the bean soup. I ordered the prime rib sandwich, which also came with fries and a cup of soup; I chose the cream of crab. When the food arrived, it looked pretty good at first. My wife liked her soup, but the meatloaf was extremely dry and had a strange seasoning to it. The mashed potatoes were real, with large chunks of potato in them. My prime rib sandwich special was overcooked and came with cheese. I was expecting thinly sliced, shaved prime rib, but instead the meat was cut very thick -- about a quarter inch -- and was tough. The cream of crab soup was disappointing. The first thing you notice is a heavy spoonful of Old Bay on top. When I dug in, there was barely any crab -- just a few chopped particles, which didn't feel acceptable for cream of crab. I ended up eating the prime rib plain with some BBQ sauce just to get through it. Overall, we don't think we'll be returning. There were a few other places we passed farther down the road that likely would have been a better choice.

He recommended the Oyster Roast from Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Co. I appreciated his comments regarding the blend and roast level and he was spot on. For my tastes at least. It's a smooth but dark roast that I just finished up. There was a farmers market going on across the street with ample parking for our travel trailer. There is also a railroad museum with a self-guided walk through of various train cars. There is a restaurant next door as well but we didn't try that.

(To show you how much Yelp means to me, this one is from mid-September and I'm just getting around…read moreto it now. Caveat Emptor.) Straight up - Dunkin' means absolutely nothing to me. Haven't had one of their donuts since I was a kid and I do not prostrate myself at the altar of unnecessary caffeine like so many in our society do. Why was I here? Basically, we were on the way back from OBX and someone in our party who has a two or three time a day Dunkin addiction HAD to stop here. That same person also has a restroom addiction which of course meant...we HAD to stop here. Little boys' room was on the less than clean side and I got strong armed into getting something, so I chose a Strawberry Coolata. The ice was half-blended at best so there were chunks galore coming through the straw at random times. Maybe I had 1/3 of it before it was a no mas situation. Look, if you're into this stuff and in the area, the location is great right at the intersection of 13 & 113 where there is every fast food/dollar store/goodwill derivative imaginable close by. If you're not, why even read this or waste your time?
