There was not a wait when we arrived so we proceeded immediately and they brought a highchair for our 13 month old. Drinks were provided very efficiently, as well as a cheese curds appetizer that was ordered to arrive very quickly. We had multiple dishes, including a Gyro- which my brother said was amazing, a barbecue sandwich, which was also very good but very messy, as it was cold and rainy I had a bowl of vegetable beef soup, which was very tasty and a side of coleslaw All the food was very tasty, and delivered quickly, but once we were all finished, it was a good long while before everything was cleared and we could pay our bill and go, and there was quite a line out the door waiting on tables It just feels like we need more wait staff to keep up with the demand here- so just be prepared. You may be here a while. The staff were very friendly, the ambience is casual and it seems very popular place for the locals

We stumbled onto this absolute gem right across from our hotel, and it exceeded every expectation. We were a family of six, so we waited about 20 minutes for a table, and it was completely worth it. It recommended one business that looks like it has been out of business for many years and then this place. I had high hopes when we walked in as it's a very cool ambience, a really nice bar area As you can see from the pictures from the menu, the majority of the foods here are fried. I did ask if there was a way to get the white fish broiled grilled or baked and that was a hard 'no'. I also asked if I could get the hot honey sandwich grilled instead of fried, and that was a no as well. Unfortunately, I cannot eat fried foods so I decided to go with the pulled pork option since they had a really nice looking barbecue station outback. The food arrived very quickly, service is very friendly I did take one bite of my husband's white fish and it was tasty- so if you can eat fried foods, this is the way to go My pulled pork, however, tasted like a bottle of salt was dumped on it. I tried three or four bites. I could not eat it. Yes, I did let them know and she offered to bring something else, but there really wasn't anything else that I could comfortably eat. She did remove it from our bill, which I appreciated. I will say, this is a very rare occurrence for me to simply not eat something that was brought to me, but it was that bad. They do charge a 3% up charge for credit card so bring your cash Four stars is for the whitefish and the service

I stopped by the McDonald's in Newberry, MI, hoping for a quick and satisfying meal, but my experience was just okay, leaning toward disappointing. This location seems to struggle with consistency, and it left me with mixed feelings. The food, including staples like fries and a Big Mac, was lukewarm and soggy more often than not. The fries lacked that signature crispiness, feeling like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. I've had better McDonald's meals elsewhere, where the food arrives hot and fresh, so this was a letdown. When I politely asked for fresher fries on one visit, a couple of the staff members rolled their eyes, which made the interaction feel unwelcoming. It's frustrating when a simple request for quality is met with attitude. That said, not all the staff were unfriendly--some were perfectly polite and efficient, and the service was generally quick, with my order ready in a few minutes. The restaurant itself was clean enough, with tables wiped down and no major mess, which I appreciated. The drive-thru also seemed to move smoothly for those in a rush. Price-wise, it's standard McDonald's, so no complaints there, and the menu is as reliable as ever for a fast-food fix. But the lukewarm, soggy food and occasional poor attitude from a few workers really dragged down the experience. I'd suggest they focus on serving food hot and fresh and fostering a more customer-friendly vibe. Overall, this McDonald's is fine if you're desperate for a quick bite in Newberry, but don't expect anything stellar. I'll probably try another spot next time unless I'm in a pinch. read more
