They carry Jilbert's ice cream from Marquette. I got the cherry amaretto mackinaw island fudge. So good! Worth the stop.

Loved this little spot on the strip running right through Newberry. Great ice cream and pretty good sandwiches. The kids loved it.

It's a decent Icecream place in Newberry. Not many around here and the frozen stuff from the groceries are not much of a treat.

Located inside Palms Book State Park, this natural spring was one of the most unique and beautiful places we visited. The water is crystal clear all the way to the bottom, and you can easily see fish swimming below. You hop onto a self-operated raft that you pull across the water to the middle of the spring, where there's an opening in the center to look straight down. It gives you a perfect view of the vibrant underwater world -- it's honestly mesmerizing. It's a quick stop, but totally worth it. And the best part? It's dog-friendly! Definitely add this to your list if you're exploring the Upper Peninsula.

Clear blue water, bubbling sand, never ending springs, a tow boat, and lots of trout are the wonders to see. Everyone gets on the boat and someone (well a few people over the course of the trip) step up to the wheel to tow the boat across the water. The water is mesmerizing. I couldn't take my eyes off the water. Many people can fit on the boat so the wait is not too long. A day pass is $11. Definitely make this stop if you are in the area.

It's a little shack right by the marina in downtown Cedarville, and you can eat your delicious cone or sundae out at the tables by the water - if it's sunset, even better! The shoppe always is well-stocked with three cases of rotating flavors of ice cream (Mackinac Island Fudge is always there, though!) plus plenty of specialty sundaes, shakes and malts to choose from. One of my family members orders a Heavenly Hill sundae (with hot fudge and Reese's Pieces on top) every time - yum! One scoop is $2 and two is only $2.50. Sundaes are a little more ($3.75-$4.75) but remember you're paying for the experience and the enjoyment of summer! They also serve hot dogs and other food-shack-type but I've never tried them. You can order from inside (standing room for only about 4 people!) or outside at the window but I think the inside is faster and you can see all the ice cream flavors. In the evenings there's usually a bit of a line but the girls who usually are working there are fast and friendly. Small little parking lot fits about 5-6 cars. There's a little slide where kids can play and a gazebo with extra seating, and it's just an all-around perfect experience to go out for ice cream in the summers in Cedarville!
