My car broke so I asked my hubby to buy me icecream... Lol. He wanted french fries, so we decided to go to McD! Waiting in drive thru line, my husband says, if I have to repeat my order, I'm going to snap! Lol! (Past Taco Bell experience). We order our icecream cones and small fries... No repeating of our order! Wow! Get to the cashier... Friendly! Double wow! Pick up our food and this cute cashier was so friendly! She gave us our perfectly made cones and said, wait, let me get you some extra napkins! She was so friendly and just so cute! And she was smiling! Smiling like she wanted to be there and loved her job! Awesome! We both said thank you to her and I even waved! Lol! Great experience. Nice, roomy inside and clean. The outside landscape is cute. I especially love the little water feature by the drive thru. But the plants seem to be getting hit by the recent heat. McDonald's food is what it is: Convenient & fast. The current order takers & cashiers seem very new, not as friendly or attentive as past ones that I'm thinking went back to school/ college when the semester started. If they stepped up their customer service so that they would pay attention to their customers, I'd give them 5 stars. It's gotten better in the past month and a half though. Not as many mistakes, wrong orders and having to drive back to pick up things they forgot to pack or overcharged me for. The immediate parking area is small. But additional parking in the big lot next to the Tesoro is ample. With the new Longs/CVS opening soon, I can imagine what traffic will be like in and around that area will be like. Decided to come n check out the new renovation. The inside was empty, its was just the 3 of us..The place smells of fresh paint n new furniture:))..I like the setting of the place..Although I miss seeing Ronald McDonald, its a nice renovation. This is the Mcdonalds we frequent since we live in Mauka. Yesterday we picked up a snack in the late afternoon and the pick up window staff were not as professional. Hanging their heads out of the window to check out a car in line and swearing in front of us. Got home and bit into an overcooked mcchicken. 2 out of the 4 sandwiches were overcooked. I called to complain and spoke with Ian. He offered for me to come back for mcchickens and one item of my choice. I went in today and met Ian and he did give me what he promised. Mauka is always a good place to come sit down and eat. It's newly remodeled restaurant is cozy and family friendly. Hubby and I enjoy coming here anytime of the day. The staff here is friendly and fast. Some days are slow but that comes with the nature of the business. This is a very busy location and the crew work really hard to get the customers in and out. Went here this past Saturday (12/13/19) normally don't ever eat this but was feeling like I wanted something not healthy so I ordered an egg McMuffin meal and after eating almost all of the sandwich I seen a string poking out of the egg...I grabbed it and it was longer than 2 inches and it was definitely from one of those white rags that gets worn and all the strings come up off of them that the staff use to wipe down their stations. I threw up a few times and was absolutely disgusted. The manger Lumie was very apologetic but still had no answers as to how the rag string got into the sandwich. I know when I ordered the sandwich in the drive thru I did say "can you make it well done and not runny please?" because in the past they gave me runny egg McMuffin and that too is atrocious. Anyways, other than that I cannot imagine how that got in there. They gave me back my money and ironically started offering me all kinds of food which I obviously declined. I went to the drive thru to order a free thank you meal chicken nuggets, French fries, and coffee between 11:00 P.M. - 1:00 A.M. and didn't receive a sauce for my chicken nuggets and ketchup for my French fries. In all the 10 years we've lived in Mauka....whoever is working there 2/15/2019 (UB40 nite) at 12:40am was probably alone because we (& our other friends was in the drive thru line in front of us could vouch to this) waited at least 40 minutes to DRIVE THRU.... 40 minutes to order at the extremely bright screen in the front, then to the last window to pay/pickup. I'm not sure what the change has been but the service has been getting worst every few years but the most mind boggling thing is, McDonalds has been around for millions of years... don't you think they'd have it down? 1, 2, 3...Boom- food out the window, into your hands, on your way, wind in your hair and the best Coke in the world ‍ perhaps its a change of owner but they should consider quality and performance audits to stores with bad reviews and maybe a fine for...nevermind, no fine-it'll just get passed on to the consumers...'we'll continue to suck and you pay us to do so.' The burgers and nuggets were above average for a typical McDonalds so I'll give them that. The cashier at the window gave me honey mustard though I asked for regular honey. I mentioned the mistake and she hesitated and said they were out. True or false, no idea. However, the REAL crime was when I also ordered an Oreo McFlurry. I asked if they could make sure the Oreos are throughout the ice-cream instead of the bottom 1-2 inches being just ice-cream. On the screen they listed this as a "Special Request". This request was not special. I was asking them in a subtle way to make the Flurry the correct way. Their solution to reach the bottom was to give me less ice-cream. They made good on their word to spread the love Oreos through my ice-cream. Their solution of filling the top 1-2 inches with air probably wasn't the best way to go about it. read more

I rarely eat at McDonald's but had to try out the limited edition of their Lobster roll. Was lucky to be able to purchase 2. $9.99 might seem a bit expensive but it did come with alot of Lobster. That being said, it was bland and nothing compared to authentic ones I had before. Glad I tried it but won't be buying more. The drive thru at Mililani Mauka McDonald's is always busy. And having a Starbucks nearby doesn't help with the traffic. Wish the traffic flow was better. read more

Haha, I know most people who write reviews for McDonald's have nothing but negative things to say. I, however, am writing about the great employees that I always interact with at this particular location but have never written a review about until now. We eat at McDonalds more often than I care to admit. I can just imagine my fellow stay-at-home moms wanting to mom-shame me right now for allowing my kids to eat the food from here, but I don't care. The place is convenient and the food is consistent. Anyway, back to the stellar employees. I always deal with Myra at the front counter and Juan at the drive-thru. Both employees are hard-working, professional, courteous and efficient. I truly enjoying interacting with them. Although I'm just one of hundreds of customers they serve everyday, I just wanted them and management to know that I appreciate their work ethic and their excellent customer service. Keep up the good work. The restaurant itself is bright and open. It was remodeled last year so the place is clean and new. Parking here is limited and the plaza itself has a wacky traffic pattern. The drive thru line is usually long and the lanes are tiny. I would inevitably see a car going up the drive-thru ramp/sidewalk because the turn is very tight. However, the two employees above more than make up for the shortcomings of this location. read more

It was a bit unexpected, but I walked into this McDonald's and was immediately greeted by the Manager Maria. She showed me a new feature this McDonald's has and helped me order without standing in line! I even saw who I think was the owner helping carry a food tray to a table for another customer! This location of McDonalds must be the home of Ronald McDonald because it appears clowns are operating and managing this store. Busy Friday night, all we wanted was milkshakes. We pull into the drive thru, they have one of the two order lanes blocked off with Orange hazard cones. This is causing confusion as drivers cannot actually see the cones from the entry to the parking lot. It causes cars to try to enter then have to reverse back into position for the other lane. Dumb. If you are going to block a lane make it clearly obvious from 20 yards away to limit confusion. Enter the only operating lane. Wait out turn. Get to the order menu board. Here is taped a soggy 8x12 sheet of white paper saying "no soft serve available, no cones or shakes, machine broken" Great. We don't want anything else on the menu. Now trapped in a huge line for no food . Have to wait on cars ahead to exit drive thru lane to actually escape the McDonalds from hell. Window cashier was of no help not that they could help us anyway. They needed the help, a McFailure location obviously managed by a McIdiot. Never again stopping there. Proceeded on to Wahiawa store which was on our long drive home to N. Shore. Excellent service, no issues, both drive thru lanes operational. McMililani McMauka McDonalds can McKissMyAss. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I love McDonald's french fries and breakfast items. On those days when I just don't feel like cooking, McDs has always been there with open arms. This location, however, has been consistently inadequate with their service and food preparation. Painfully slow in the drive-thru and most recently my Portuguese sausage platter was terrible. How can you screw up sausage and eggs? Well, the sausage was jerky-like...unpleasant to eat, and the eggs were quite runny. Another time, fries were brown and stale, after waiting 10 minutes in the drive-thru. Eek! I know for a fact that McDs created a fool-proof system which requires one to insert ingredients into a cooking vessel, and push a few buttons to produce any given item. Once you hear the beep, presto! The food is pau. Not too complicated, unless you can't read or push buttons, you should catch on fairly quick. Which makes me wonder if this is the case with the workers here...or if they're just plain ole lazy! Seems like the staff freak out during rush hours, but they move with no sense of urgency. Why is this McDonald's so beautiful? It doesn't smell like despair like my neighborhood McD on Keeaumoku. No one loiters. Strangers don't ask if they can "get to know" me. The quick answer is NO, GTFO. Mililani is delightful. People appear more... what's the word... Not gross? Yeah. That's the feel of Mililani. I think it's fair to gauge a community by how nice/disgusting their McD operates. Mililani wins! I won't even bother commenting on the food and/or service because it's McD. Just got back from my sundae run and was blown away that they raised the price of xtra fudge. Last time I went, extra fudge was like $.10-$.20 but this time they tell me its now $.60 Now the whole price of a sundae is a $1. So in the same container I get an extra spoonful of fudge which is now 60% of the original sundae. Absolutely ridiculous. When asked if they had changed the price they said, yeah two days ago. The Franchise owner decided to raise the price. To me this is excessive and a bit much for a small little add-on. Now a extra sweet and sour dipping sauce is only $.20. Went to pick up food for the nurses during a lunch break... service was okay and the drive thru moved fairly quickly. Unfortunately I was missing an item and the girl at the window seemed irritated that I was asking for my missing item. She also seemed irritated when I asked for more than 4 ketchup packets and 2 more small bags. Umm considering I purchased over $30 worth of food (we're at McDonalds's people!) I think I would need a little more than 4 ketchup packets and a couple extra bags wouldn't hurt. Maybe she was just having a bad day... I dunno... This location is probably the most confusing drive thru experience I could've ever had. My mom & I ordered a few meals including a Double Qtr. Pndr Meal. While we were ordering the LADY that was taking our order had us repeat that specific meal THREE TIMES! (it was a medium double quarter pounder meal with no PICKLES and a strawberry banana smoothie) after our order finally went through we went ahead, got our food and checked it. My sandwich HAS PICKLES & NO ONIONS... by that time i'm super upset. I then checked my receipt and it says "No Slivered Onions" when my mother repeatedly said NO PICKLES... I walked in the restaurant with the sandwich and the manager assisted me. I told her NICELY "I just came from the drive thru and I ordered no pickles, I did want the onions" and explained to her the miscommunication while we were ordering. She took my sandwich and usually Mcdonald's workers throw away the previous sandwich and make a NEW ONE how you ordered/desired, to fix the mistake. NO! I was watching the kitchen ladies and This employee literally SCRAPED OUT THE PICKLES FROM THE BUN WITH HER GLOVES AND ADDED ONIONS! Then I was watching another employee bag fries and he accidentally DROPPED FRIES on the counter, instead of throwing the contaminated fries away, he picks them up and puts it in the customers bag and hands out the order. We are now home after RIDICULOUS service... guess what? ALL OUR FOOD IS BURNT! The chicken nuggets were overcooked, my hamburger was burnt, the buns in a few sandwiches were black! As a customer I am very upset of how My mother spent SO MUCH MONEY on food and it ended up being inedible. I go to this Mcdonald's about twice a week. They are fast, efficient, and very friendly. And the food is just like every other McDonald's. The main reason Im writing a review is to commend the workers. Hopefully the Mcdonald's management reads "yelp" reviews and acknowledges their employees accordingly. While this review is long overdue my opinion about this particular location has not changed. As other reviewers has mentioned, they recently went through a massive renovation to create two ordering lines. Initially I was glad because their lines were always longer than most drive thrus. However, since reopening, instead of shorter wait times it only increased. On Wednesday I was in line for 17 minutes. I don't know about you but that is not fast food. On a positive note, the employees there are always friendly. Despite a high turnaround, everyone is friendly. The food better than most mcdonalds. Bottom line, if you come here you'll appreciate the great service but be prepared to wait! read more
