Ever since the renovation there is often nobody at the register. For some reason they hang out in the back and just pop out every few minutes. This combined with the fact that ketchup and refills can only be had by speaking to someone since there is no drink machine and ketchup is held behind the counter. Each time I've gone I've had to wait at least a few minutes to ask for one of those things. Very frustrating read more

Ordered 4 double cheese burgers, no pickle, no mustard. Get all 4, no onion either, ask for the onion JUST to be put on the ones we have, they remake them, which takes 10 minutes, hand us back, 4, with just ketchup... ask them for the onion, AGAIN, JUST, for the Onion, not to be REMADE yet again... they say it'll be about 15 minutes to remake... also ordered 2 x 2 Strawberry and cream pies, they handed us 2, tried to play it off.... Never going back to this McDonalds again. They've gone down hill ever since they reopened. read more

Just ordered the BIG ARCH, in Middletown which made me immediately look up what exactly was supposed to be in this new special I saw on TV. 3 Slices white cheddar - nope, that orange galactic stuff. Next, crispy onions - nope, no where to be found. Next, lettuce - hard to describe if the 4 tiny squares were that. Next, toasted poppy seed and sesame bun - there was a bun, slightly stale no poppy seed here. Slivered onions - 5 chopped. 2 beef patties from a very old cow and 2 pickles. What surprised me the most, after looking this up was if i lived in the south i could get this for $7 or less. Gosh...i wonder what's in that one? read more

They were closed for 4 months -they did a complete teardown renovation and the only thing good about the new McDonald's is the parking lot. They added nice spaces, they made two drive-thru speakers and now if you drive around the building, you have an option to circle around the building again instead of being stuck to exit off of Route 35. No longer kid friendly with no play area. The outside looks like a square medical building and if they didn't have the McDonald's arches you wouldn't even know it's a McDonald's. The inside is small! And there's no counter where they take your order anymore. You have to now place your order on a kiosk that a thousand people have touched before you hoping you get your own order right and you fumble through all of the options, and heaven forbid you need to make an adjustment to your order- you could be standing there for a while. And no one is there to even help or even peeks out behind the counter. No professionalism, no friendliness, no courtesy- absolutely horrible. Half the time that you forget my straw or my spoon and they hardly ever give napkins. And the service is beyond slow. One afternoon we drove in and the double drive-thru was backed up all the way to the highway. My son actually got out and walked inside while I was backed up by the highway. As I was able to go around and I pulled into a parking spot by the drive-thru -I waited for him to come out with the order, 25 minutes later he still was not outside with the food. after being closed for almost a year for a major remodel they reopened I visited shortly after the grand reopening its horrible there's seating for about 30 people and I think the stores primary focus is drive thru sales, with that in mind I don't think ill be back sadly read more

This McDonald's is tough to handle. When we stopped in, the woman who took our order was apparently on vacation and just came in to check her schedule. She was great, but it laid the groundwork for the rest of our meal here. We ordered and waited...and waited with 5 other people in one of the most disjointed attempts to place the correct orders onto trays that you could imagine. It led to one person walking away with the wrong food, one person waiting for a missing item and another just waiting a really long time. One woman said they'd bring the last item out to the family who was waiting and then they placed it on the tray and let it sit. After about 5 minutes the one proactive guy brought it over -- the family was already done with their sandwiches. Most of the staff are very friendly but something is just off here, they don't seem to operate efficiently or repetitively, it's just kinda go with the flow. Places like McDonald's have efficient ways of getting orders out to you quickly and this location has none of them in place. It seems like they need a manager. Side note, for some reason this location has a very odd golf theme, no clue why. read more

This is the second time I order on Uber eats and I'm missing half of my meal, the meal is wrong and they don't give any sauces for the nuggets. They never help when you call. This location sucks ! read more

I am a customer that comes hear very often, the saddest fact is that all these kids that work here are on there phones and playing video games, they barley cook food, they take forever to make the food I've waited a good 30 mins for 2 cheeseburgers and a fry. Every-time i go to this mcdonald's in middletown the food is always cold! And it's not once in a while every time I go (which is not often) it's cold! My husband just went there and the fries were cold and salty, the big mac had more lettuce then meat, the burger patties were small and the buns were huge. The breakfast is ten times better then the lunch.. The whole inside looks like it isn't cleaned, and the playroom was nasty and was sticky and smelt like piss. read more

I had a problem with the hours that last time I went there, but I received a call from the owner, and they are correcting the situation with the employees that had closed early. This restaurant is tired and old. First, the divider at the urinal in the men's room? Completely covered in rust. Second, for month's, even after saying something twice; they are too cheap to repair the entrance signs at the driveway. The driveway is poorly light and hidden by shrubbery; making it difficult to see at night. Service very slow. Dining room dirty (yet manager and employee sitting out there) Medium lid dispensers empty. The place needs a total makeover, or an ownership/management change. This location is inconsistent. One morning I get a breakfast sandwich and it's good. Following week, the english muffin was barely toasted. I figured maybe the toaster was broken, so I went the next weekend to give it one more chance - the last time half of the english muffin was so hard I couldn't even bite it. Like it had sat aside warming all day into a dry little brick. McDonald's shouldn't serve breakfast all day if it's going to be garbage. I have also found the same issue with the fries and the chicken nuggets. I thought at least the nuggets were made to order, but more often it tastes like everything has been sitting around - not hot or fresh. The owner and manager of the location should care a little more about the quality of what's going out the door. When you go to McDonald's you want consistency. Serve hot, well-prepared food and your reviews will improve, and so will sales. read more

This is another fast food restaurant that is featured in the opening scene of Clerks II. It is right next door to the Pizza Hut with the all the writing in the windows (also in Clerks II). It is also the closest McDonalds to my house. Even though I try to eat healthy there is something comforting about eating at McDonalds even if I do not always enjoy the meal. I is probably something left over from my childhood. Eat here probably would not be so bad if I could forgo the french fries and coke but it does not seem right if I do not order both. There are some new items on the menu that are worth ordering if you absolutely must eat a McDonalds. The grilled chicken snack wraps may or may not be a good alternative to one of the burger items. There is a 1/3 lbs angus burger that is actually very good (I usually go for the Deluxe and leave off the cheese and lettuce). I like burritos for breakfast but I do not know where to get good ones around here. McDonalds recently added the grilled breakfast burrito to the menu that is not too bad. I originally gave this restaurant 5 stars but I quickly came to my senses. It is a McDonalds after all. The service is not too bad during the mornings and afternoons. However, I have found the late evening staff to be a little on the cranky side. Especially when I make my special orders. read more

I was beyond disappointed and disgusted with the service at this McDonald's. The employees are extremely rude and unfriendly as well as unprofessional. On multiple occasions I was given attitude when I asked an employee a question about the menu. Specially, one time I went to the drive through and a worker began to angrily repeat were closed. Horrible. Ordered simple breakfast - egg white delight, hash brown, large latte. Hash brown very greasy and cold, egg white delight barely warm, latte had sour milk! I didn't realize the latte was bad until I left the drive thru and I had to get to work. I did call and the manager said he would give me a free breakfast just give him the receipt number. Horrible, disgusting! Went a few weeks ago and ate inside. The place was filthy. All garbages were overflowing, soda spilled all over the countertop and there wasnt a clean table to sit at. Then there was a women behind the counter coughing her brains out and a cashier that smelt like he hadn't showered in weeks. Stopped by the drive thru last night and they ckaimed that they ran out of shamrock shakes! Won't be back to this location!!! read more

McDonalds, not your happy place. Went through drive through on way to NYC - ordered a couple of burgers for the trip - when I opened the bag, there was a fillet O fish and french fry-no problem, parked my car, and threw out the bag, as I didn't want it stinking up the car. Went back today to straighten things out, and was accused of lying because I didn't have the bag - I was able within a couple of minutes to tell them what time I went through the drive through because I was heading for the train. Did they say - hey, sorry about that, here are (2) burgers worth about $2.00 in total? No, they said you're a liar! What a happy place! read more

This place is horrible. I've been there a few times hoping it'll get better and it doesn't. Now I'm finally done going there. They can never get an order right and they're extremely slow. Oh and now they charge 60 cents for any sauce! They are really trying to make money off of us. I'm not paying for sauce. I had to complain to the manager when he charged me for it. BEWARE They no longer give senior discounts on their sodas. It may not be that much of a discount, but a discount none the less. Also the one in Shrewsbury no longer gives the discounts either, as both are run by the same owners. The Hazlet and Union Beach McDonald's still does, and the staff at both of those locations are so much more friendly, and the interior of both of those stores are way cleaner than the Middletown location. read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION. I ordered two Big Macs and some other items in the drive thru. I get home and each Big Mac has one patty in it. Are you kidding me? I called them and they let the phone ring and ring. Finally someone picked up and when I asked how this happens, the response was they are very busy. Really? At 8pm, there were no cars in the parking lot and three cars in the drive thru line. What happens at lunch time? Do they leave the patties off completely? I've already contacted the corporate offices because they should not get away with this. read more

Went in to use a free coupon for a MEDIUM fry and was told my a manager that they only do small but the coupon on my phone said MEDIUM, they do not offer what the customer asks for or what their own app offers, WORST MCDONALDS IVE EVER BEEN TOO with horrible customer service and the employees are completely unaware of what they are doing. read more

The Enter/Exit sign ARE NOT lit. The wait time at the drive thru was 25 min. I won't go there again. It's NOT safe to drive to at night.
