We've also placed pickup orders through DoorDash, which sounds convenient until they get the orders wrong. I hate having to be that person opening the bags in front of them to make sure it's accurate, but I'll have to do it from now on. We ordered a wet burrito and they didn't include the queso. The birria tacos didn't include the broth. We paid $2 for salsa and got two tiny packets instead of the big container shown on the picture in the DoorDash menu. I went back to get the missed items and the employee shrugged while reluctantly informing me they were out of broth. I asked if they were out of the ingredients or if they just needed to make some. She said the latter so I asked how long it would take them to do so. She didn't even respond and walked away, continuing to work on other orders. I asked the cook in Spanish about it and she said they did have broth, but the employee at the register forgot to heat it up, so it was cold. Once she came back I told her I would take it as is since I'd probably have to heat up my entire meal at that point anyway. She gave me the saddest consomé ever with no flavor at all. Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.

I will say all the burgers are ginormous which is what I quickly realized after I ordered the double liberty burger. It came with two beef patties, double cheese, bacon, and ham slice on a bun. It was a good old hamburger and other than big just a normal burger. I do love how all the menu items are very patriotic themed. I will say I will be going back, but will dine in next time to see if that makes a difference.
