On April 15, 2025, at 2:48 p.m., while paying $17.69, for food ordered at the drive thru, I was harassed by an employee of McDonalds Restaurant #10062 at 1724 Ashville Road NE, Leeds, AL 35094. I have posted the receipt to this review in support of my complaint against this restaurant. I placed my order at the drive through and when I reached the window to pay, the woman who took my money, an older blond-haired woman who wears her hair in a pony tail, was in a highly agitated state training a new employee. While I was placing my order, there was a problem hearing my order over their external system, and I was asked to repeat it two or three times. This caused the woman taking the money to become extremely angry and aggressive toward me. While taking my order she was extremely nasty, and when I pulled up to the window to pay she continued being extremely nasty to me, repeating herself over and over again, accusing me of doing something wrong in my order, and screaming at me as I drove away after I had paid. While I drove away from the window she screamed, "you're just mean." I have an audio and video of her screaming and harassing at me on my vehicle security cam. The entire transaction, from start to finish is recorded and documents the horrible misconduct of McDonalds employee. I am 80 years old, walk with a cane, and expect to be treated with a minimum of respect when doing business with local Leeds businesses. What happened to me at the hands of this employee should not happen to anyone, regardless of age, and particularly not to senior citizens. While being screamed at by the out-of-control employee, I paid $17.69 for the food and moved to the next window to pick up the food. The food was not ready and they had run out of coke. Given the abuse of me by the employee who took my money, and after waiting ten minutes for the food, I asked for and received a full refund and left the premises. The time between paying for the order and the time I obtained a refund was ten minutes. See attached receipt. Given how poorly managed this restaurant is, it is obvious that the owner, who owns several McDonalds in Alabama, does not manage her people or the operation of this restaurant. In the past, this particular McDonalds has served room temperature food to me that was of extremely poor quality, not fit to eat. It is so poorly managed that it should be shut down and investigated by the Alabama Dept of Health.

We visited a little after 11 in the morning. I had my 2 kids with me and we chose to dine in for a change. They were excited to see the Playland! We entered and noticed this Mcds is nice and updated. The staff is friendly and fast! We ordered 2 kids meals with nuggets ad everything came out perfect! My only complaint is that the Playland was not open. It looked like they had chairs stacked inside. Even chick fil a across the street has reopened their playground so MCDs needs to do the same, in my opinion.

You never know what you'll experience at McDonald's but the service was fast & friendly at this location . This was my first time coming here. I am a huge fan of McDonald's coffee , hash browns( not pictured) & their oatmeal in general! Sometimes the oatmeal at other locations isn't always prepared the best to me. My order was correct and my meal was fresh, thankfully . The menu items are priced reasonably. I would come here again if in the area during breakfast hours. Solid visit for this to be fast food!

The new look at McDonalds is nice but the wrapper for the room did not make the food any better. Having to use a kiosk to order was terrible. System is slow to respond and took 2 taps for each item. Paying cash still requires you to walk to cash register. Staff is friendly and checked on us twice. I say up the food quality and get rid of kiosk

As I walked in the bartender yells at me, "What part of banned for life don't you understand....?" Fortunately, the PTSD keeping me on perpetual edge kicked in immediately and I responded, "Hey you're wearing my t-shirt you... give it back. And, how can I be banned from a place I've never been before?" The bartender and I then got down to the long history of Marty's PM (formally in Five Points), the legal and jurisdictional control of lifetime bans, and general 'long time no see, how you been?' chit chat. The place is situated in a nearly empty strip mall, which gives it a slightly post-apocalyptic vibe. It was nevertheless pretty crowded. They seem to be serving the same healthcare professionals/biker crowd that used to populate the 5-points version back in the day. I didn't try the food, but it looked pretty good. The prior version had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches to be found. My only knock on the place would be the lack of draft beers. I toughed it out drinking Jack and Cokes. It's a little out of the way for me, but I suspect I'll be back sooner rather than later.

Today's review is Rusty's BBQ located at 7484 Parkway Drive in Leeds, Alabama. They are a family…read morerun business and have won several awards over the years since opening in 2009. Rusty's is hands down the best BBQ in Alabama, I drive over 50 miles at least three times a month or more to eat here. They offer up pork sandwiches, plates, ribs, brisket, cheeseburgers, a vegetarian BBQ, chicken, sausage, world famous collards, homemade pies and more along with a variety of sides. I don't eat vegetables so I double down on the fries, I cover them with their sweet BBQ sauce, which I also love on the meat. The serving size at first glance looks a little small but don't be fooled, it will fill you up along with the generous helping of whatever side you order. The last time Julie was with me she ordered the ribs with okra and mac & cheese, both were enough to feed a family of four. The ribs were fall off of the bone and cooked to perfection, not burned like some rib places around the area. As for me, like I said, I always order the pulled pork plate with double fries, sweet BBQ sauce all over both. I have tried the spicy BBQ sauce and at first taste it was a little hot for my taste buds, but over time I kept dipping my fries in it and once I got used to it, it was pretty good, I would not put it directly on the meat or fries. I also tried the house sauce, it was just a sauce, kinda like if you didn't want your BBQ plain, best I can describe it is like drinking water instead of anything with taste, it's something to wet your throat. They offer a white sauce but I did not try it. The sweet tea is also very good. The service is good as well, someone came out and checked on me as I was eating, they play the blues on the radio but not too loud, the decor is local with lots of hometown football and area sports decor. The only thing I did not see that makes a great BBQ joint a legendary BBQ joint is a picture of Alabama football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, all of the legendary BBQ joints in Alabama have a picture of the Bear. Rusty's offers ample indoor and outdoor dining and plenty of parking with handicap parking available. Now to the only negative, when I order I always emphasize that I want NO pickles on my plate, I can't stand pickles or pickle juice. Several times they have put pickles on my plate, it's just a couple of small pickles and I remove them but it's the fact that I point it out plainly when ordering and they still get it wrong. I don't let little things like that slide when reviewing restaurants. If you are a local and eat here alot be sure to put your phone number in when paying to earn points for your reward, it's only 5% off, but every little bit counts. Overall Rusty's hits a home run when it comes to BBQ in the state of Alabama, it's worth the drive. 5/5

Overall consistently have been happy with everything I have eaten, but I will say that while still pretty good the burgers are not as good as they were early on. One of the big draws for me has always been the outdoor patio area that is shared with the other businesses that are part of the Trussville Entertainment District (TED). The covering over the area keeps you out of the direct sun but still has a very open air feel. On my most recent visit I got the Feral Smash Burger with Cheddar instead of American Cheese. I ordered the tots for my side because I swore that I had gotten them many times in the past. Looking back at all my photos, clearly I was mistaken. Since I am not a big fan of sweet potato the bartender brought me fries instead to go with my side of Beer Cheese which is well worth the added cost. Depending on when you go, you may have to go inside to order at the bar for the outdoor seating (such as I did today). Other days when the TED is busier and peak times you can order at the outdoor bar. For solo lunch dining I prefer other options in the TED but Ferus is great for groups and outdoor dining. I am sure I will be back especially when my daughter comes to town since she likes to refill her growler with the seasonal sours.
