A month ago we had our sons 5th birthday party here and it was so much fun! Braden was very helpful with setting up the date and details, never acting like we were bothering him when we asked a bunch of questions. First off it's FREE! You only have to buy at least 6 Happy Meals, we ended up buying 20-25 so that was easy. Looking for places to hold his birthday was upsetting due to fees alone, everywhere is so expensive. So when our son asked about McDonald's and we inquired it was a huge relief. They do have a cake but you don't have to purchase it, they don't mind you bringing in an outside cake. We had about 15-20 kids and while the birthday room only holds 10 people we used the main room (it's not private) and some of the older people hung out in the room. The staff was AMAZING!! We had a lot of people, we bought the Happy Meals but most adults bought food so they were busy busy but were always smiling and offering help and asking if we needed anything. They were wonderful! More than one kid came up and told me they were having so much fun and our son told me "THANK YOU MOMMY THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!" And lots of the parents told us later their kids had so much fun. It was loud, the kids chaotic and joyful and we are so happy with how it turned out. Been road-tripping across the west coast, and the staff here shocked me in how they treated the elderly people! They are patient and work very well, keeping the facility very clean. This place has terrible service. Every time I've gone here they forget AT LEAST one thing, in addition to no sauce even though they ask about it at the speaker. Tried to knock on the window and honk my horn to get them to fix it and they PURPOSEFULLY ignore me. I can see them look at the screen with the camera waiting for me to drive off. The manager has not once smiled or said anything friendly that you would normally expect when interacting with a human being. The management team at this location sucks. They have forgotten parts of my orders a few times now and then when they attempt to correct it they tell me I need either the food or the receipt but then tell me I need both when I'm there for the replacement, so which one is it? Fries are almost always cold, burger patties are obviously very old and hard and small from sitting there for so long, the drinks are never filled up all the way, play place is usually a disaster and they have the bathrooms locked. I am giving two stars based on my last visit. I ordered a quarter pound with cheese. The burger was literally raw. It had so much ketchup on it I didn't notice it until about half way through. She remained calm and I understand under the busy circumstances the managers may have been busy but were rude to the customer after she remained calm. I went there yesterday as a walk-in in drive thru since my car broke down. The sign said that drive thru walk-ins we're allowed until 7pm. I went there at 6:30pm. The cashier switched places with another employee and she claimed that they have new owners of the franchise at that location so they could not honor the sign that says that it is okay to walk-in in the drive thru. I don't think it's very difficult to honor the sign or just simply take it down. I think they denied me because they thought I was homeless or a person of color, most likely both. Who knows? But you're better off going to Wendy's nearby. Their lobby was opened at 6:30pm and it's cheaper, taste better. My husband and I needed to grab food on the run today. I grabbed a mcbiscuit and he grabbed a burger. He asked for BBQ sauce for his burger and 2 ketchup. I have a short list of places I wish I could give a ZERO star for and this McDonalds just made it. It wasn't about the food or the establishment, it was all about the customer service. To add injury to insult, the horrible customer service came straight from the manager whom I asked to speak to. Started normal enough, order your food and wait. In our case we waited...and waited...5 minutes-person after us gets their food, 10 minutes-another person gets their food, 15 minutes-yet another person gets their food, 20 minutes and still no food. So my wife inquires from the manager who told her that it takes 3 minutes to cook the chicken and mentioned that he already told her that...which he didn't. So 20 some minutes later we finally get our food and I decided to talk to the manager and asked him in the spirit of customer service what's the deal and how ridiculous it was at a fast food restaurant to have waited so long. Looking annoyed he gave me the same spiel that he gave my wife, a quick sorry and nothing more he can do and turned his back on me before I could respond. So my part I will admit, I asked him why he was being such a "dick" in which his response was to tell me to leave with my wife and 3 year old or he'd call the police. Well, I understand that "We reserve the right to refuse service" business rule so I did, but not without getting his name so I knew who to complain about to their corporate office. When I asked for a pen to write is name on my receipt he threw his pen at me and when I asked him, "did you just throw your pen at me?" he responded that it slipped out of his pocket. Now just like many people, I've eaten at many a McDonalds in my time and even worked at this very one back in the day and this manager has got to be the worst I've ever encountered, and to top it off a terrible example to his team. This was one of our regular stops when ever we passed through Lacey/Olympia, but now it was our last and depending on how my complaint to McDonalds goes, I may be done with McD's anyhoo.
