I come here often and very rare that anything wrong with my order. Solid McDs, certainly not deserving of their current 1 star.

Burger Kraze

Burger Kraze

What can I say about Burger Kraze? Hands down the best addition to the local area in a while…read more Absolutely desimates ShakeShack which has lost its quality/value and has never been run well from a staff/management standpoint. Meanwhile, owner (Isaac) delivers a personal touch and pride of ownership that is unparalleled. Place is spotless and staff offers phenomenal customer service with a smile. Isaac gives his patrons numerous options. There's the classics done well with high quality ingredients and the phenomenal cultural twists to burgers, chicken sandwiches and even corn dogs. I haven't had a corn dog in forever. This was some kind of tempura-ish fried coating (with a little sweetness to the batter) that I've never seen coupled with a hot dog. I can't wait to go back for the Doritos version. Burger Kraze has already done one promotion for my son's elementary that was a huge hit. The change away from using peanut oil helps broaden the options for those that couldn't enjoy before. Just shows that Isaac has a pulse on the community and that's the touch that you can only find from a local small business owner. Cheers to the success as it's well-deserved for the Rutgers alumni!

The corn dogs taste just like the ones you'd get at the state fair. The potato dog is the standout…read moreand makes ordering fries unnecessary (even though the steak fries are good too). The Klassic Dog with Japanese mayo comes in a close second (and if you skip the mayo, I don't trust you). The Dorito dog had great flavor but was definitely too salty; would love to see them offer a mini half-size option for that one. The Rainbow Dog was a miss. The cereal topping doesn't stick well, and the sweetness feels off balance. The burger was fine, but with Hey Burger right nearby and clearly the better burger spot, it's not something I'd order here again. On the bright side, the milkshakes were good; they've got a homemade taste that Shake Shack can't match. I'd 100% come back just for the corn dogs and shakes.

Five Guys - A Five Guys cheeseburger, milkshake and regular order of fries sits on a table inside a Five Guys restaurant.

In 2016, I saw Derick Mendelson swallow an entire Junior Cheeseburger without chewing here when we…read morewere in college. Sitting right at the hightop next to the pole. We all sat at the tall chairs with the red back on them while he stood up in front of us and turned the place into a damn circus act. He didn't chew even once and we all legitimately thought he was gonna die. His girlfriend was crying because she actually thought he was going to die. The manager at the time, no idea who he was, came around the counter and was berating Derick. He kept telling him to spit it out but Derick anaconda'd the entire thing. It looked so painful. "YOU GOTTA SPIT IT OUT!" the manager yelled at him. His eyes were filled with tears and his entire face was purple but I swear to God that he did it. I thought he was legit gonna die. He said his throat was sore for like two weeks after. Derick and his husband live in the Bay Area now and I think he works for like Google, which is hilarious because he was so stupid in high school. College turned him into a tech wiz or something, honestly I'm not sure exactly what his job is. But he was a legend. "Derickburger" was his nickname for the next few years of college lol. One weekend I visited him at TCNJ and everyone there called him Derickburger too which made me crack up. The greatest fries of any fast food establishment, literally. I love Five Guys fries.

What I love about five guys is that you can really throw a bunch of toppings on your creation and the workers here did not skimp. The burger was made fresh to go and the staff was very friendly. Probably the best "fast food" burger I have had in the area. Got a ton of fries on the side. Picked up shortly before closing so the place was empty but it had seating and looked clean. Very satisfying!
