First Time at Five Guys... and I'm Officially Obsessed! I…read morewalked into Five Guys in Ocean Township not knowing what to expect -- and walked out wondering why I waited so long to experience burger heaven. Ocean Township, NJ - Route 66 Location Let me start by saying: WOW. I'm honestly still thinking about the lunch I had today at this Five Guys location in Ocean Township off Route 66. This was my very first time trying Five Guys -- and I had no idea what I was missing out on until now. Walking in, the place had a fun and casual vibe -- bright red-and-white tiles, open kitchen, the sound of sizzling burgers, and the smell of freshly made fries instantly put me in the mood for a good meal. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the whole experience even better. Now let's get into the star of the show: the patty melt. I had heard people rave about Five Guys, but nothing could've prepared me for just how delicious this was. The patty melt came out hot, fresh, and oozing with melty cheese layered between two buttery slices of grilled bread. The beef patties were cooked to juicy perfection -- flavorful and savory with that satisfying charred edge that makes each bite feel indulgent in the best way. Add to that the sweet caramelized onions and a subtle crunch from the toasted bread, and I was genuinely blown away. It's comfort food elevated to pure magic. And of course, I couldn't skip the fries. Five Guys doesn't just give you a serving -- they give you a mountain of fries, overflowing from the cup and spilling gloriously into the bottom of the bag. Golden, crispy, and full of that real potato taste you can only get from hand-cut fries, they were fried in peanut oil to perfection. Salty, satisfying, and dangerously addictive. The drink station was clean and fully stocked, and I loved being able to customize my soda with the Coca-Cola freestyle machine. Bonus points for how spotless the entire dining area was, even during what looked like a busy lunch hour. What stood out the most for me was the consistency and quality. Everything felt made with care -- not rushed, not over-processed, just real ingredients prepared well. As someone who enjoys discovering new food spots, I can honestly say this experience went above and beyond what I expected from a burger joint. If you're in the Ocean Township area and haven't stopped by this Five Guys yet, do yourself a favor and go. Whether you're a burger fanatic or just looking for a satisfying, flavorful meal, this spot absolutely delivers. I'm already planning my next visit -- and yes, next time I'll be trying one of their famous milkshakes. Five Guys, you've officially earned a new fan.

The experience didn't start off well because part of my receipt was stuck to the lettuce with grease, which wasn't very appetizing. The bacon was undercooked, the burger itself seemed undercooked, and everything looked like it had just been thrown together. For the price, I expected much better quality and presentation. I also ordered the organic house tea thinking it was sweet tea, but it wasn't. On top of that, it came with no ice. The staff did remake it when I asked, so I appreciate that. The reason this review is so difficult is because, despite all of those issues, the burger actually tasted really good. The flavor was there, which made me overlook some of the negatives while I was eating it. That's why I can't rate it any lower than three stars. If this is how it's normally prepared, I wasn't impressed. But if this was just an off day, I'd be willing to give Shake Shack another chance because the taste definitely has potential. Hopefully next time the quality and presentation match the flavor. Man the East let the West down tonight Overall: 2 out of 5 stars.

I said no because I didn't want to trouble him and he insisted that it would be no trouble and would finish cooking before I finished ordering. He also helped me choose between the burrito and a bowl based on how hungry I was and whether I wanted leftovers. It has been a long time since I encountered someone so helpful working in a food service establishment. He had a great attitude and I hope his supervisors see this post. Fantastic employee! The cashier was also helpful and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious! I hope this place stays in business. Please give it a try so it's there for me when I'm hungry. :-) Thanks!

The DQ shop, located near ShopRite, is run by mostly young people with an occasional older person in the back. The hours are good as they stay open later than most places. I never expected a DQ in a strip mall to work because all the DQs I have been to have been stand alone, drive up, unique looking stands. Surprisingly this place won me over. It is pretty clean inside and is set up to work in a similar fashion. You order at the counter, they make it & you pick up when they call your name/item. There are 5 tables 3 booths and a restroom for customers in back. There is a pick up freezer for door dash & the like along with cakes and special orders. We ordered blizzards each time we've come & they were all good. Some of our favs are the Peach cobbler blizzard, choco extreme blizzard, and the Cotton candy blizzard. The menu board explains the offerings or you can clarify with the staff. This is a solid date night, family dessert, celebration place for all ages. Possibly ground up steakums in a thin gray patty with zero flavor. Greasy and gray, not a speck of char or browning. Thankfully we stopped for a lite snack because this was not appealing at all. We ordered a steak burgers salad which consisted of a handful of iceberg, a half a cherry tomato and a sliced up gray grease burger (very thin) - this looked like prison food! We also ordered a mini taco, same trend on the meat, but had 5-6 strands of shredded lettuce.... Not a good thing. An appetizer that was not great. And last, the honey hot chicken strips - the chicken was decent, the sauce was an over sweet goop of high fructose (not honey) which was not great. It was an avoid at all costs lesson for us. Icing on the cake, we were informed it is illegal in the State of NJ to offer forks or napkins? How odd, did not know this. So, you are supposed to go back up to the cashier and ask for it? Why not just provide these illegal utensils. Somehow I think the staff is misinformed because we have eaten in many places in NJ and never heard of that one. Was told BYOB at a few, but not bring your own utensils

No extra cost which is nice. Also added Tater Tots in lieu of their fries & a beverage. It was very filling overall, tots were nice & crispy as they should be. Burger itself was a bit over seasoned / perhaps too salty. I did try the burger patties to confirm it wasn't just the bacon. Perhaps it was just a few extra shakes of their seasoning (I'll have to try that burger again to confirm). I also do want to try the chicken sandy's next time & reg fries. Plus their fry sauce (forgot to ask for it). And the frozen custard. Whew so much work to do ;) Inside it was bright & clean, I do see how it may be a bit loud when it's busy though (I went midweek at 2 pm). Will add that to the review when I go at a busier time. Service was fine given it was no where near full. Note that it doesn't have a drive thru. But if you order online they have a "frequent purchase" program & if you order anything frozen they'll keep it in the freezer until pickup.
