Ordered in drive thru; first off the staff at the drive thru window gave me the price before tax, not including tax. Staff at window (20 something woman) accidentally rung my card as cash and needed to fix it, so she literally shouted for a manager--ridiculous (and a little jarring) as it was obvious the manager was feet away. I requested ketchup packets at the pick-up window and the girl there rudely said, "you need to ask for those at the other window because we charge for sauces now. I can give them to you today, but not on your next visit." I feel like it should be the staff taking orders who should inform customers of this rule. Pulled up and ate in parking lot immediately following picking up our food only to find that both fries and cheeseburgers were barely room temperature. Tried the new kiosk electronic ordering for the first time. Epic fail! I ordered a Big Mac, fries, and one of the new slushees. Then sat down at a table with my number sign. A few minutes later an employee comes over with my food and lets me know that they are "out of slushees". What??? Asks me if I want a soda instead which I say yes to. Worst McDonald's ever in an area with 0 fast food options. I received a trash attitude from the lady who clearly hates her job when I asked for more than one sauce for two separate orders. You don't like your job? Find a new one. Also I didn't get my fries in my order and didn't find out until i was too far away to turn back. I tried to call them to complain it pissed me off so much but you can't even get through it goes straight to voicemail and the mailbox is full! First off 30 dollars for 3 incomplete happy meals and a big Mac is ridiculous. We ordered 3 happy meals with milk and of course they had no milk (white or chocolate). We asked for water expecting bottles but were given cups of tap water. 1 meal was missing the toy and of course everything was cold. Absurdly terrible slow service! I worked at an extremely high volume McD's back in the early '70's, sometimes with 7 or 8 counterpersons to accommodate the influx, and then a bus with a basketball team and cheerleaders would pull in! Yesterday morning, after a very long wait in the drive through line to get to the speaker, told to wait, then spoke the order. A further extended wait to get to the service window and the coffee order was wrong and told to advance to the waiting spot for the order, one sandwich, for a wait to be brought out!. Yes, it was obvious the crew was understaffed, and the grill person must have been skilled enough to cook only one egg at a time, longer to make the sandwich. I will never stop at the Great Barrington McD's again and will advise anyone else not to. A decade ago, I developed, for a major national car manufacturer, a customer service training program to be applied by their thousands of dealerships regarding truthful, ethical and efficient service. The data at that time showed that a satisfied customer would likely tell 3-4 other folks about good service, a dissatisfied customer would tell 7-8. Now with social media, the outreach is much broader. Even the Canaan, Ct McD's is an example of better service. read more

So, I began ordering double cheeseburgers with no cheese as to take advantage of the dollar menu pricing. I don't often go to McDonald's but I went here this winter and was served cold food. I have never had this happen before at any McDonalds ever, I'm not one to complain about McDonald's food, because it is what it is. But this was so cold I wanted to throw it out, if it wasn't snowing outside and I wasn't starving I would have returned it. Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean the food has to be to. The food is always cold and they seems to miss half the order every time. I used to work here so I can tell you the grills are broken and despite what they claim, they do not cater to people with allergies since they cook the fish in the same oil they make other fried food in. Unsanitary also comes to mind with people handling raw meat without gloves and . But easily the worst part of this store is the atrocious service. I usually have decent experiences here but this year the food was all over the place. I ordered and egg McMuffin and it came with the usual Canadian bacon but also sausage!!! Yes it came with 2 different meats. On another visit I ordered sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. I watched as the preparers looked at the screen and then looked at the drawers that contains the eggs, meats and breads then back at the screen again. This went on for a solid minute before a manager came over to assist and explain to them it is the sausage and egg biscuit just add cheese. They all seemed to understand but then went back to staring at the screen and then again at the drawers. That's when the manager stepped in and just made the sandwiches :/ read more

They sold me two stale, hard as a hockey puck Fillet o Fish sandwiches with barely any sauce. Awful. They obviously just didn't care and weren't nice to me at the window, either -- complaining that it was cold when I was trying to get the money out to hand them. They were all Spanish speaking. I know this isn't a gourmet restaurant, but we still paid almost $10 for our two sandwiches. Management needs to step up and possibly start caring about their location. This is a great location if you love to stare at the ass end of a car for.. Almost 30 minutes now. A bit of a problem here when I tried this location. Although the order was taken correctly, when it came to getting a receipt after paying cash for the sale -was told they ran out of paper to print me off a copy. But then they had the audacity to not give me (or remind me that I have an order number that could be referenced when trying to locate our food order), and when the one employee called by the order number, we didn't realize it was ours and made this known that the confusion began verbally. A little more care in estimating higher sales and the need for more paper for food order receipts should have been provided to their employees prior to higher sales during the summer sales weekday periods. Also, air conditioning that wasn't present was actually a bad thing. Yes, they had ceiling fans, but that cooling form didn't help to cool the place efficiently when the external temperature (outside the building) was 92°! Get your air conditioning fixed so people can feel comfortable eating inside like most McDonalds patrons would do. I liked that there was an employee providing mopping assistance to the floor of the dining area and dining area in back leading to the restrooms, but noticing that this person seemed to be talking to his employees like he was a manager didn't exactly thrill me. I know from prior times my brother mentioned he was into this store and had no problems, really made me wonder who was more at fault during this visit...but we won't get into this, here. read more

this mcdonald's is literally in the twilight zone. my bf and i have gone twice and both times got some pretty bathshit orders. the first time, we ordered 2 cheeseburgers with extras of every topping and we received 1 big mac, one burger with NOTHING on it, one regular burger and 4 ranch dips. the second time we were super hungry so decided to take our chances - we ordered 2 big macs, 1 quarter pounder, small fries and a coke. we received 2 quarter pounders with no toppings, 10 piece nuggets, 2 medium fries and 2 sweet and sour sauces. also both times the person at the drive thru repeated the orders back to us and they were perfect?? also also there has been yelling or arguing coming from inside the mcdonald's both times we were there. we will never go back, ever. unless we're in the mood to play russian roulette with burgers read more

They put bacon or any form of pork(ham, salami.etc) in a lot of things without labeling it. Maybe it's not a place for people who cannot digest pork but clear labeling would be really appreciated. I don't like to be surprised with bacon in whatever I ordered. I tossed a few orders because of that. People with pork intolerance still deserve a quick bite on the way, especially given the fact that it's almost impossible to get an acceptable meal at 4pm or so anywhere else in Gt.Barrington. Just make it clear that it contains bacon, ham or salami before an order is placed. For example, ranch grilled chicken wrap, though the name doesn't say anything about pork but the ranch contains bacon automatically, for the first time in my life; egg cheese muffin has ham in it though there isn't any clue of pork in the name at all. read more

I recently submitted a complaint to the corporate page regarding an incident at this location, which i won't get into as I don't prefer to drag anybody through the mud. However, the employees at this location need to start taking their jobs more seriously. Customers are the only reason you're getting a paycheck, please learn to treat them and their hard earned money with the same respect and service you'd expect when purchasing a meal anywhere. Wait times in the drive thru are far too long and it is very common to receive cold food, the wrong order, or sloppy made food. I know several people who refuse to stop at this McDonald's, which is unfortunate because it could do very well location wise. On the flip side, to follow up with my complaint I DID receive a personal phone call from the head manager, an email response from corporate, and a personal letter in the mail from the franchise owner. I hope bringing the issues to their attention will influence them to hammer down on their employees and improve the branch all together. read more
