This place is neither good nor bad... It's a McDonald's that takes my order in a friendly manner and hands it over correctly almost every time. I will mention however, that some of the order takers here, like many order takers at other McDonald's all over, have a difficult time entering my order for a large black iced coffee into their system... Because of their complex system, they need to enter "no cream" and "no liquid sugar". Sometimes they give me a confused look (as if they've never taken an order for a large black iced coffee before) and while trying to figure out how to put the order in, I usually need to reiterate "no cream, no liquid sugar," and they figure it out (black iced coffee only seems to confuse them)... This location is such a joke. They forgot to put a chicken in my mcchicken. They literally served me a lettuce and mayo sandwich. Unbelievable. Order whatever you want from this McDonald's but expect them to put cheese on it whether you want them to or not. I've been going there for years and they make this mistake every time. They just can't understand the fact that some people might not want cheese on a hamburger. The service is always great. This is our regular McDonald's, we've never had any problems except for today... My brother had finished drinking his sprite so he opened the cup to munch on some ice. Then he saw something on the ice so, he spilled it onto a napkin. We looked at it for a good minute thinking it was a fly but it was a spider!! I went into this McDonalds in Fox River Grove to order a 6-piece Chicken Nuggets Happy Meal to take to my daughter's school yesterday as they had a "have lunch with your child" day. After placing my order, I was waiting and waiting so I looked over the counter to try and get someone's attention. They acknowledged me and still TOOK FOREVER to get my order when they were not a busy location. And then when I finally got the Happy Meal, which was packed by the manager who also had no sense of urgency and didn't care, as I walked out of the store, the bottom of the box started to break and the sauce and some fries spilled out. I hay waited so long for this happy meal I need to go so I just proceeded to my car but what a FRUSTRATING experience. Clearly the manager not caring or having a sense of urgency sets the tone for the standard of what is acceptable at that restaurant. While this is the closest McDonalds to my house, I will no longer be going there and if my kids want McDonald's in the future, it will have to be picked up when we are in the area of another one. This is the ONE McDonald's where you can GUARANTEE your order is going to be wrong. Called them this morning to ask whether they take competitor's coupons, and after talking to 3 people (they finally found someone who spoke basic English), I was assured they did. So I brought my BK coupon there, and naturally was told they don't take them. Well, fortunately there was a manager there who said that they DO take competitor coupons (I'd talked to someone not 10 minutes beforehand who said they did), AND was able to work the cash register!!! To make a long story short, the manager asked what kind of sauce I wanted for my McNuggets, and I told her "the mustard sauce". I get home, and I have 7 packets of MUSTARD in the bag. Yeah.... I've lived in the area since before this McDonals even existed. Normally I would not go to a McD's but I have a 11 and 4 year old and the latter (obviously) loves her kids meals. We were at the FRG location 3 of the last 4 times we visited McD's and all 3 times our order was screwed up. The last time we ordered muffin sandwiches and they gave us pancake sandwiches. While waiting I saw another lady inside (through the pick up window) who appeared to be ticked off as well. When I went in I just yelled at everyone - then that lady joined in. Management should be fired with no compensation and a drill sargent should be put in ASAP. It makes no sense too me however... We'll never go to this location again - OR ANY MCDONALDS for that matter - since they apperently do not hire anyone who has a clue about the food service industry. This is my "local" place. I drive out of my way to go here every day for myself and every weekend for my family. They are always friendly and don't mess orders up. McDonalds food is McDonalds food, so let me start by saying that my food was good. The problem that I have with this McDonalds is the customer service and the fact that the building itself is in need of a remodel. But the biggest problem that I have with it is the fact that Spanish is the language spoken here. I think it is rude to speak a foreign language in front of people who do not speak the language. Went there at 9:40pm on July 8, 2018 and was told that the lobby was closed (restaurant closes at either 10pm or 11pm depending on where you see the hours). Closing before stated hours, never get the order right, employees that struggle with basic English. Saw a buddy there with his kids who wanted an ice cream cone and it took 25 minutes to get it. Poor customer service. No wonder why McDonalds always ends up on the bottom of fast food customer satisfaction ratings. I worked for McDonalds for over 10 years in my youth. The FRG McDonalds is one of the worst in McHenry County. Always have to wait over 5 minutes for basic food items, customer service is poor and only one outside garbage can which is always over flowing. read more

50/50 chance going there on getting what you had hoped for. Some days it's good and some days it really sucks. Today was a day that it sucked. They must have people who are playing games with the food. The small patties were hanging out out opposite ends of the Big Mac and I had to rebuild the Big Mac before I could bite into it, only to have it taste like ocean salt water. It was loaded with salt and pepper. The lettuce had just been thrown in box and wasn't even on the sandwich. I couldn't even eat it. Of course it was a bad fry day too. They looked like the ones I find in the seat track of my car and they tasted like I would imagine those old, cold, dried out, under the car seat fries would taste. Ordered $30 worth of food and none of it was worth the $30 it cost. My son went through the drive-thru and by the time he got home, which is less than 5 minutes away, and the food was taken out of the bags it was cold. I was on the phone with my son as he placed the order. When my son got to ordering the big macs he clearly stated to the manager Alex, the employee taking the drive-thru order, that he wanted a big mac with ONLY, and on the side, mac sauce, pickle, and the bun. Being that there were several customizations to the big macs, and realistically 90% of the time anyone I know who orders food from McDonald's experiences something with their order being wrong, I was very surprised that it was correct. But I clearly gave too much credit too fast because on the patty, underneath the cheese, was lettuce and onion. Now why would those items be on the patty underneath the cheese? It was stated to Alex that there was to be only mac sauce, pickle, and the bun. All of which were to be on the side. Nothing else. So I call to inform McDonald's of their mistake. Alex happened to be the one who answered the phone and the conversation lasted 12, very excruciatingly painful, minutes. First Alex asked if my son could come back tonight. I said he couldn't and would like a credit for the food that I paid for that I didn't receive. Alex then says he needs the food brought back. I'm not about to hold onto food to bring back after I get off work and am back in town at 7 pm the next day. That's insanity. Alex proceeded to say that he's not able to guess what people mean when they say only and it doesn't mean that you only wanted the items you said you wanted and that's why the lettuce and onion were put on the patty underneath the cheese. I didn't know that the definition of the word only has changed. I asked Alex to have his GM call me because he has no customer skills. Alex told me his GM wouldn't be in till Thursday. I asked Alex if he had a way of getting ahold of his GM tomorrow to have her give me a call. Alex says yes. Alex then sits on the phone in silence, which he has already done several times throughout the conversation. I asked Alex if he needed to take my info down so his GM could call me and his response was I was waiting. Someone who should be in customer service would've asked for my info after I requested for the GM to call me, but not Alex. At this point we're 9 minutes into the conversation and about 4 of those 9 minutes there was no talking because Alex would just sit in silence. Alex never apologized for the big macs being wrong and I never even brought up the food being cold because that probably would've been another 12 minute conversation. All Alex wanted to do was argue or sit in complete silence making me wonder what the heck was going on. A customer doesn't want to hear excuses why their order was wrong. A customer wants to hear solutions to fix the situation. Alex does not posses a single one of the required skills a person should have when they're in the service industry. I have never before experienced a manager who would say absolutely nothing/sit in complete silence, for as long as 30 seconds at a time, as the customer is waiting for a response to a question that was asked/waiting for a question to be asked in order to figure out how to resolve the situation. Needless to say I think Alex needs to find a new job where he doesn't have to interact with other people because he doesn't know how. I have had some really bad customer service experiences in my time but Alex has beaten them all and is the winner. Alex holds the title as being my #1 worst customer service experience. I really hope the GM, Hilda, has a way to fix the problem that Alex created. read more

Oy. Where to start. The water in FRG tastes bad so, subsequently, their ice tea blows. Ok, not entirely their fault. But this is: The place is unclean! Flies everywhere, tables that don't get wiped down, etc etc. It's gross. Several times Ive asked for croutons with my salad and have been handed a package covered in dust and crumbs pulled from who knows where. I hope they (quite literally) clean up their act. read more
