This particular McDonald's is remodeled. Looks pretty neat inside. We are passing they the down and needed to find breakfast. Food was fresh, but tables were not. There are few customers it's pretty slow and plenty of staff and they still don't clean tables. MANAGER make sure someone cleans tables ones a while. read more

Worst McDonalds ever! I wish I listened to the previous reviews and avoided this place. As previously stated the service is slow, that didn't really bother me. What really bothered me was biting into my burger that had two pickles and one sliver of onion and pulling out a long hair. Needless to say I chucked it out the window. They also forgot our cookies. We stared at the cashier from the drive thru window and she stared back. We waived at the girl hoping she would come over, instead she gave us the peace sign. We live here in Ely and really hoped once the remodel was complete that somehow the food would be better but it wasn't. You order a meal and get luke warm fries or a sandwich that tastes like it has been sitting under the lights for a good 15 or 20 mins. Super slow service, crowded front counter with not much room to stand after placing an order, no service with a smile from employees, no greeting with a smile from employees, orders are usually screwed up so you have to check them before you leave. If you think you are going to just get a Quick bite to eat here, boy are you in for rude awakening. The service is incredibly slow and surly. On top of waiting up to Twenty minutes for your order, make sure to check to see what they forgot. Worst McDonalds I've ever been in. The counter where the drinks had dried food on it and was a mess. There were no napkins and when I asked an employee he asked the manager for keys to the storage room. The manager said "he will just have to wait". Writing this review as I sit in the drive through line I've been sitting in the last 45 minutes! Thought why no stop at McDonald's on our way back home... Huge mistake. Just don't. They had MAYBE 2 people working and 8-9 cars backed up in the drive through. Got to the window and the kid didn't even know what we ordered so o had to re order once I got to the window.... Took my card and ran it at the first window after they had me pull to the second window... I NEVER write reviews but feel very compelled. I have given this McDonald's MULTIPLE chances to serve its purpose as a fast food restaurant. I am in no way looking for a fabulous 5 star formal dining experience, but I do however, expect hot and fast food. I just finished (and by finished I mean gave up on) a common #1 which would be a classic Big Mac meal. Fries were stone cold, burger was DRENCHED in sauce which made the bread sogging. I asked for a side of BBQ sauce which I was charged for. The man who took my order said nothing when I pulled up and really the only greet I got from him was a huge yawn. Terrible terrible terrible. All around. I don't care what you do to the outside, the inside will always be awful. Tip, if you're going to charge me for a condiment, you better make sure my food is as good as it can get. This was probably the worse McDonald's I have been to in years. 0 stars! I stopped in Ely on a trip back home and decided McDonald's was quick so it was a good option for my family. When we got to the register all the staff was in the back, which would've been fine if it wasn't for the fact they were standing around talking instead of helping. I made eye contact with 2 of the employees. I understand they have their stations they have to stay in but a simple 'we will be right with you' would've been nice. This is where the story takes a turn for the worse, after knowing we were standing there and we could see them a young lady proceeded to eat customers food before handing it out. She pulled a chicken nugget out of a box that then went in a bag and she took out. When another person made a comment about her doing it she just simply said 'I didn't do anything' while spitting chewed up chicken out (on accident but still disgusting.) and laughing like this was nothing to her. The store was pretty clean for being in a small town, soda station needed a wipe but it wasn't that bad. The registers had no drawers at 2:30 in the afternoon which is a little weird but they might of just had manager shift change. The manager took our order and was friendly, food was good and didn't take too long to get out. But I will definitely not be returning anytime (ever), and I recommend giving anywhere else a try. read more

Usually pretty good food and service. It's McDonald's as usual. My most recent trip in was unpleasant. The children's play area was freezing and an employee decided to step between me and the counter so she could argue with her manager. I'm a local resident and have visited many times. Where to start. It started off good, ordered 2 meals and a hot chocolate. I'm waiting for the order when my wife comes out with a disgusting look on her face and points at the worker emptying the garbage. Later she tells me she walked out of the bathroom without washing her hands. By this time we have the food and she didn't go straight to the kitchen, but still, WASH YOUR HANDS! Hopefully she washed her hands after touching the garbage. The only thing missing is "HOT" chocolate. We get it and it is more cold than warm and tasted like dirty water. The cream on top has black spots (coffee grounds?). When we say something, they all look at each other and shrug their shoulders. OK, give us our money back. Have them put the $2.49 back on the credit card. Then we are told it will cost $5 for the refund. Wow! We left without the refund. Worst McDonald's restaurant I have been to in a long time. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by an extremely cold, filthy dinning room. We had to clean our own table before we sat. The manager was extremely rude when I pointed out that they were out of sweet tea and ketchup saying only "sorry dude" Well I'm not your dude! Don't know if this restaurant is corporately owned or a franchise, but somebody needs to get this amateur crew in shape. Manager also needs to wear long sleeve shirts, no way I let a food service employee work with full sleeves (tatoos) fully visible on both arms. read more

The new owners of this franchise have taken great steps to improve this place over the last couple of years, having almost lost the franchise a while back for such bad service under the previous owners who lived out of town and never had anything to do with the place. But don't be suprised if the AC in the play area is out in the summer and it's 125 degrees in there. That's normal here. Food is no different than any other McD's. And if they tell you the McCafe is not working it's because not all of them know how to work the automated espresso machine. read more

I have a hard time believing that you can get a basic hamburger wrong as many times as these people do. I have had the privilege of living in the middle of no where for nearly two years now and can't understand how a basic order of "Ketchup and Mayo ONLY" could be so ridiculously difficult. I've gone here before attempting to get a large order of several different sandwiches and ended up going back inside 4 times, still leaving with a randomly placed snack wrap in my bag. They forget time and time again to put the cookies in my bag and constantly run out of just about EVERYTHING I order on a regular basis. It's McDonald for Christs sakes, you only sell so many items. The only warning I can give to anyone passing through Ely is: Don't expect a large order to be correct and don't expect any special items to be the way you ordered them. Just grab your drinks and run like the wind to the next major town! Unless you have youngin with you, then the play place is a good deal.
