On trips down to Bloomington, I probably stop at this McDonalds more than any other one along the way because it's conveniently about an hour before the destination and a good place to take a quick break. It's generally an alright experience, as people have noted the upkeep of different things around the restaurant could be improved such as clean tables, regularly dumping out garbage, and ensuring that everything is neatly kept. The food here tastes similar to other McDonalds locations and the preparation is generally alright (though at times, the sandwiches feel like they're sloppily assembled and the iced McCafe drinks seem to have a very high amount of ice in comparison to coffee in them). read more

This a solid restaurant choice in the middle of Illinois. We were traveling to Springfield, IL and needed to take a rest stop. We stopped for a snack on the road. The bathrooms are nice and clean. We got some chicken McNuggets and a McCafe Peppermint Mocha. We used the ordering kiosk, which is nice but I think it takes longer to complete the order than if you ordered from the cashier. The order was completed correctly. This was a prefect stop and pick-me-up on our trip. Recommended if you need a clean place to stop and get a snack in Dwight, IL. read more

Went through drive through and after watching the 2 cars ahead give back the bag given to them the guy at the window then asks us if we had the fries and drinks to which I responded- "yes, the ones you just gave the last 2 cars and then they gave back?" I followed up with "I don't want to be a pain but I'd like new ones that weren't passed around" at which point he slammed the window shut. He then took the bag to the back and returned with what appeared to be the same bag. The fries were fresh and hot but lord knows what he may have done to them...I know I am not eating them though. I would have preferred he left the passed around order at the window, say "no problem, let me grab a fresh batch" and just grab new ones, not that difficult. read more

I ordered a cheeseburger, and I took a bite of it and parts of the bun were rock hard, the rest was fine and I don't like McDonald's that much but i ate it. we went through the drive thru and asked for 2 bags of apple slices. the apple slices didnt show up on the screen and they said they got my apple slices but when we got our food there was one bag. and worst of all we asked for ketchup and they gave us none. who eats fries without ketchup. my experience was not good. and my fries got cold fast, you are lucky i gave you 3 stars read more

Typical McDonalds set up along the Interstate. Features the self serve kiosk found in many McDs these days, and that's great. I like the self serve concept. However, I struggle when the screen is telling you to grab a cup and have a seat but there's no place to grab a cup. I asked the counter person about a cup and she said it'd come out on my tray. This is contrary to what the screen says but more interestingly, I have to wait for my food to get my cup, then leave my food to cool off on the table while I wait at the beverage station, get my drink etc., leaving my food to chill and unattended. I could roll with this and look it over if the young woman behind the counter wasn't so aggressive about things. We all have bad days but it's best to put on a smile or at the very least ditch the grimace. Luckily, judging by the way she barked out numbers like the drill sergeants back in the day, i don't take her rude disposition personally. Once I got my food I was surprised at how drippy my Artisan Chicken Sandwich was. I literally squeezed sauce out of it and still managed to have enough to soak my arm to my elbow. McDonalds is McDonalds, I get that and I respect that. But we should still strive to be the best we can be. read more

This is one of the worst McDonald's I've ever visited. It was disgustingly dirty. No excuse for all the dirty tables, food on the floors, fountain area dirty and the front counter was filthy. Some of my fellow Yelper fam who have witnessed many checks in over the years can tell you what I "used to" be. A McD's fan. When I started to cut regular runs out of my diet, I probably singlehandedly caused the drop in stock prices by at least a percent. I visited the Dwight location because of convenience but left with an experience I would never forget. My father and I were taking a ride south and he asked me to stop someplace for a quick bite to eat as not to delay our travel time. When I got off the highway exit, I quickly noticed our nearby options were limited so decided on McDs and I placed an order at the speaker for my dad. THEN, I decided to tack on fries and an apple pie for old times sake. And something to drink because I knew I would need to wash it all down. What happened next was quite special. We arrived at the window and was told by the beaming cashier to drive ahead because someone had already paid for our meal. After a small exchange, she assured me the person did not pay for our meal by accident and eventually shared it was the car in front. Upon learning this we drove up to pick our food which was piping hot and upon exiting the parking lot we noticed the car in front had pulled aside to wait for their order. .....It goes without saying that we stopped to thank the person so say thank you. Given our meal was purchased by an on duty police officer who traditionally (I think) eats free, made the gesture that much more meaningful. read more

I wanted some McDonald's but I wanted a Mc flurry. Their ice cream machine was not working at the time and I am very upset. This is unbelievable a absolute abomination across the nation McDonald's cannot keep doing this is unbelievable and unjust, an unfair to the people who just wants to McDonald's. Ordered "Fruit & Maple Oatmeal". Looked in the bag & noticed they forgot to include the apples... only because .. for some reason... every flipping McDonalds seems to have this thing against putting the chopped apples in with the oatmeal. We get in more debates with McDonalds employees over the **** apples - they insist apples don't come with the oatmeal.. and this McDonalds was no different. 2 of the 3 employees argued with me when I asked for the apples, insisting they were not included. I asked for a packet of kids meal apples then.. and the employee actually said, "We don't usually give out kids apples for the oatmeal - only the chopped ones..". . Wait. I thought they JUST said apples don't come with the oatmeal??? Long story short, they argued with a customer over a packet of chopped apples even after I pointed out that they should look at the menu & see for themselves. Entirely unprofessional. Partway between Chicago and Peoria, this is my pit stop when I'm driving down state to get back to my hometown. I generally drive through and am on my way, however on Tuesday night I needed to use the restroom, so I therefore went into the restaurant. It was about 9:30 PM. I was mortified. While the restrooms were of average cleanliness, the restaurant portion was FILTHY! Trash overflowing, counters needing wiped, garbage and dirt on tables and booths, sticky spills all over the soda machine! Further, when I walked up to the counter, I was told to wait while the lady who was supposed to be taking my order stood and talked to her friend drinking a soda. She also was not wearing her uniform... wearing jean capri pants. I needed coffee badly. They told me they didn't have coffee. I told them to make some and had to argue with them to make some coffee!!! I really had wanted a chocolate shake too, but they informed me their shake machine was "broken." That wasn't worth arguing with them. Sadly, I think I'll be finding a different pit stop in the future! read more

Right of Rt 66 Place wasn't crowded and the staff was VERY friendly. Easy in and out off the expressway and right on Route 66. I always get the Egg Whites. This particular Mc D's cooks them right, doesn't scramble them. The muffin itself was cooked perfect and not burnt. I'll be back read more

Overflowing garage in every corner of the McDonald's.... And I mean EVERY corner. Garbage was stuffed in random containers and cup holders behind the counter and in the kitchen. Additionally, it took 25 minutes to fill our two meal order. Receipt was time stamped 3:08. Received food at 3:33. Lastly and probably most importantly, one employee named David continually talked back to his manager and ignored her instructions. He disappeared for a while and the manager had to send someone to find him. Once found he was asked to help at the registered. He told his manager it was too cold for him to work there and yelled at her to put him in the kitchen. He also made the customers feel incredibly uncomfortable by telling the people in line that he wouldn't spend money on these sandwiches and talked about how things needed to be redone at the McDonald's and continued to pester the customers. He was working the front counter for a few minutes and decided to go sit at a booth instead of taking orders for the people in line. He reluctantly returned to the counter once his manager asked if the people in line had been helped. To the people looking to stop here: don't. To the people managing this place: either fire employees who aren't working or find a different managerial style that works better with your employees because David does not deserve to be making money with his attitude problem and lack of actual work. It does not set a good example to the other employees as to what is acceptable behavior. And to the local health inspector: please check this place out. read more

#WorstMcDonaldsInAmerica I don't trash McDonald's. Generally I like the fact that I find a consistent meal wherever I stop. The restaurant is easy to access from the interstate. The meal was adequate although subpar from what I usually find att a McDonald's. The fries were warm but not fresh, not hot. The same for my Big Mac. My big issue was cleanliness and lack of service. This place is filthy. Check out the pictures. Both ketchup dispensers were empty and when I asked for packets of ketchup I told the lady at the counter. I set in the restaurant for 45 additional minutes and no one went to replace the ketchup. This review takes place in the summer so I do expect a few flies but nothing like I found inside the restaurant. When I pulled up, three employees were sitting out front smoking with a friend. I really wonder if this restaurant has any management at all. I can understand every trashcan in the place overflowing if this was 630 or 7 PM. Not 4:30 PM read more

This is the single worst McDonald's I have witnessed in my very hard and long life. The dingbats at the front register were clueless. They messed up my order with no apologies and had no knowledge in terms of business. The drinks had ran out, but they hadn't managed to tell me until the last score of seconds before checkout had been completed. Upon further analysis of the surrounding options, I thought I was able to make due of the unsweetened tea. Taking a slow sip, I realized that even this tea was terrible. In the end I was able to exchange the fountain drinks for less-desired canned sodas, but it was way too much trouble for a simple pitstop. read more

This McDonald's is ok. This summer I took my kids there to eat and was very gross with flies. The flys where flying all over while eating and they had an employee killing them with all around the eating area. Plus there was dead flies all on the window seals yuck. They do a descent job of their drive thru as they keep that moving or if u have to wait on something there is a new window they can bring u the food. Like I said before it is ok. read more

Just left this McDonald's. We stopped on our way to Chicago. We went through the drive through to start. Literally ordered fish filet, medium fry, kids chicken nugget happy meal, and asked for Ketchup. Literally sat and waited for our food for 20+ minutes. The car in front of us got their food brought out and then he had time exit his vehicle to go inside. We wait another 5-6 minutes until one of the workers finally brought us our food. Checked the bags, no fries, no ketchup, no napkins. Literally we waited damn near 30 minutes for them to only mess up our order. I had to exit my vehicle and go inside. I've never seen so many employees at a McDonald's ever. Literally 10-15 people all staring at a monitor. I wait at the counter patiently (as I could) only to have 5-6 employees look at me over their shoulder only to resume staring at the monitor. I had to ask someone to come help me. Explain everything that happened, we were missing our fries, ketchup and napkins. The girl grabs a small (kids fry) not the medium fry I ordered and throws it in a bar. Only to forget the ketchup and napkins. I'm not normally one to complain but this place is absolutely pathetic. I honestly don't know how the doors stay open. A bunch of entitled teenagers working that do not deserve the $$ they are making. I get it mistakes happen, but man! How many times can you mess up or disregard one persons order. I actually thought they had to go catch my fish for the filet. Never seen anything like this in my life. The staff and management need fired. I am calling Corporate which I am positive I am not the first to have to do this. I am simply baffled. read more

Staff welcomed me the moment I walked in, that gave a warm and fuzzy feeling. The bathrooms were pretty decent as I always suspect McDonalds bathrooms to be, when traveling its nice to happen across a clean one. Good was hot and freshly cooked which always makes us happy......however the soda station is in much needed a good cleaning!!! One can tell by the machine how often a hot soapy towel hits the area...which is a good indication that the nozzles haven't felt any thing hit and soapy or any soda water soaking in a long time. This is just after breakfast and no rush happening for lunch :( read more

Pretty standard McDonald's. The lobby is modern, and I like that they play Motown classics. Things are usually pretty clean, orders are usually correct, and counter or drive through service is usually friendly. I do often see employees just standing around or talking, but I don't usually visit during peak hours. All in all, it is pretty much what one would expect from McDonald's, or maybe slightly better. read more

The restaurant is remodeled and nice and the food is good....if you ever get it. We stop here frequently enroute to Chicago and they are as slow as it gets. People stand around while the line stretches to Terre Haute. The employees here do not get that they are in the FAST food business. I live in dwight so i have to go here from time to time. This place messes up my order 3 outta 5 times constantly. Today i order 4 plain burgers and one with extra ketchup, i receive 4 burgers with everything and the quarter pounder with extra ketchup plain.
