This place used to be amazing. I've gone here numerous times in the last year, but since they have re-staffed, the food is not what it used to be. I went and got two Philly cheesesteaks which were made wrong with no cheese when I ordered with cheddar cheese, two hotdogs plain, which were correct because you can't mess something up that's plain And a large chocolate malt that had no malt in it. I will not be going back as the management is not willing to give a refund for the two Philly cheesesteaks that were messed up all they're willing to do is remake the chocolate shake, which is only four dollars After I was offered a refund by one of the staff last night as long as I could come back up. Not to mention the manager that I spoke to this morning was very rude and disrespectful and clearly does not know how to run a store. read more

I recently visited this place after getting hungry at the brewery next door. This place has a vast array of food on their menu. Prices are moderate, it's also a neighborhood staple in the heart of downtown Wilmington. Came here for some fries, pulled pork sandwich and a couple other small things. My sister and I stopped in here for lunch after visiting the nearby Midewin National Prairies and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. The restaurant has a large and interesting selection of beers brewed on the premises. I enjoyed the Downtown Brown, and my sister liked her Paulie's IPA. The half-pound cheeseburgers and fries were the Monday special and were a great and tasty deal considering their generous portion and excellent cooking. Ordering them medium was a good choice since they don't overcook the meat like so many other places do. The fries were hot and delicious. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming...proactively offering the option to taste multiple beers on tap. They clearly explained the ordering process: order food at the back counter and beers at the bar. They use a pager system to let you know when your meal is ready. There are also tables outside if you want to dine al fresco, but we enjoyed the local atmosphere indoors. read more

Came back a year later just to make sure the burger was as good as I remembered. Yep, it's the real deal. Great beefy and slightly fatty burger taste along with some well-matched, fresh accompaniments. I had the Southalls Southwestern TD done medium and can put my stamp of approval on that one. Fries are done perfectly too with that crisp outer layer and moist mash insides. Pull off the interstate for a taste of small town goodness, you'll be glad you did. read more

I think I am seriously in love with this place. I was craving some terrible for me food while binge watching Netflix, so we called ahead and ordered some carry out from Nelly's. He ordered a country burger with an egg,bacon and cheddar cheese. I ordered a cheesy cheddar beef sandwich. We split some sides: fried green beans, jalapeño poppers and chile cheese fries. Needless to say my eyes are often bigger than my tummy and there were leftovers. I really enjoyed everything I ate here. It was very reasonably priced all that food was about $25 after tax. I can't wait to eat my way through this menu. They said they would be starting to serve breakfast in Saturday's and Sunday's soon! After a long hike at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, me and my friends stumbled upon this hidden gem. We were looking for a burger and this had exactly what we were looking for. I really want to give this 5 stars. The food was good, I had a burger that was supposed to be medium but was well done. It didn't bother me though because it tasted good. People walked in 30 minutes after we had order and got their food and we were still waiting for our food. The fries tasted like they were reheated and we could not eat them. The breaded chicken sandwich had no breading. They told us it takes that long to grill chicken and that was why it took so long which is not true. The young girls behind the register were extremely rude and should not be in customer service. One girl said just give them a refund if they can't wait and that was after an hour wait. It has the feel of a mf appearance of a Texas or Kansas City barbeque joint. Minimalistic dining area but really fun chalkboard walls for the kids! The HUGE menu is also on a chalkboard, and the selection is unending. My only complaint is that it took me 15 minutes to pick what I wanted!
