Stopped here on my way home after working a night shift. That is a 1/2 order of biscuits & gravy. If you like pepper plan on adding. If you are one who likes a plain Jane of a milk gravy this one is for you. Pancake was good. Bit of sweetness. I had ordered the egg medium and it was over easy but rarely that is ever gotten correctly so I just cooked for an additional minute or two once I got home. Was a decent breakfast at a good price. First time there today. I ordered what is listed as the Belgian Waffle. What i was served is a very soft sponge like Pancake-Waffle. An authentic Belgian Waffle has a crispy outer shell ,and fluffy on the inside. If its on the menu as a Belgian Waffle, then it's only appropriate you serve a Belgian Waffle- this is not it. read more

I picked my brother up from the airport today and had to take him to Minooka and decided on Grandmas for breakfast. Nothing pops out or super fancy about the restaurant. The people working were extremely friendly and greeted us promptly with smiles and hello. I ordered the meat lovers skillet and i enjoyed it very much. Had to add the Cholula sauce of course. Came with a side and I got biscuits and gravy. They were kinda plain for my liking. My brother got Grandma's Special which was eggs, pancakes, and he chose bacon. He didn't say much about his meal I got 2 kids menu pancakes and Grandmas special to go for my sons and girlfriend. They put banana slices on the pancakes to make the Mickey Mouse face, and all the slices were brown. Both kids didn't like their pancakes and only had 2-3 bites. Girlfriend didn't like the pancakes either and said the eggs were kinda plain. read more

Country fried steak was over cooked. The potatoes were undercooked. Eggs were cooked perfectly but really small eggs. The toast was just warmed bread with butter on it. Barely browned. Cozy, with good food! Initial Yelp map shows the restaurant on the E side of Ridge Rd--but that's incorrect. The restaurant is actually about a block or two W of Ridge, on the N side of Mondamin/ Minooka Rd. It's a solid place for breakfast! read more

Really wanted to rate this place 5* as it's on UberEats, which had a great service by the way. Gravy for the biscuits and gravy was a little bland, it just needed some salt+pepper, oh and the biscuits were very good. But the Corned Beef Hash was the reason for 4 stars. I've unfortunately had the pleasure of eating fancy feast before, and this was on par with that. The hash was mushed to a pulp and tasted bitter/chalky. 3 stars for good bacon, hashbrowns usually not brown enough for my liking, and the toast isn't toasted in a toaster and is often soggy which ruins my egg set-up, nice dinner atmosphere, good for hangovers. Lets face it, its a diner and its in the lil town of Minooka so get yourself a hot cup of coffee and some bacon because its the only game in town. read more

I normally love this place but got seated and was waiting for our drinks for 10 minutes. The two waitresses that day were to busy on the computer and showing each other what to do . ( customers last!!) . And I'm sure the bubble but one that works there is having an affair with cook cuz that's all she cared about not us . The oldest waitress there is the best !! All business and an expert, get her if you can . I'm done with this place . All five of us walked out . There is a time and place for that crap not at work bubble butt. read more

We ( 8 of us ) went there on New Years Day around 1:30pm for a really late breakfast, I was surprised they were open. There was only one other group in there at the time. They closed at 3pm. We had a variety of foods, I had a Ham and Cheese Omelet which was very good compared some of the other places in town. We also ordered large stack of Pancakes with Strawberries, Mexican Skillet, a Burger, Beef Sandwich and some other kids meals. All were good and we had no complaints. Our waitress was very personable considering there was noone in there and they probably were looking to get out of there. A bit skeptical going back but kept hearing how amazing their country fried steak was. Its listed as a special so its not on the menu. Turned out that it was the tastiest country fried steak I've had, the breading was delicate as it came right off the steak when I cut it and it and each bite just melt in my mouth. The hashbrowns, eggs, and gravy were really good as well. The orange juice tasted as if it came from freshly-squeezed oranges. This place is very nice if you're looking for a family diner. It's a little further down Mondamin before it turns in to Minooka Road. You'll see families here, older couples, truck drivers, everyone. It's relatively slow when I come in, but I have seen busier days when passing by. Their food is very good. Sometimes the salt is a little strong in soups, but I like salt. Be prepared to pay a dollar extra for fries but honestly the entrées are cheap enough that it is okay. read more

Stopped here with the family of 5. Seated right away. Water within 1 minute. Friendly and accommodating waitress. Had the BLT club w/ Fries. Very good and they got those crispy season fries. Wife's gluten free so they special made an omlet and has browns. Nice inside / clean. Don't let the other empty stores around it fool you. Great place to go for breakfast or lunch! My dad takes me or one of my siblings individually occasionally and it is a great experience! Their skillets are excellent and they are my favorite! They have a well rounded menu of breakfast foods, brunch, sandwiches, burgers and lunch. There is nothing out of a can or any of that, but it is nearly all fresh cooked in restaurant. It is inexpensive as well. The average person spends over $7 at a fast food place, and this is not much more than that, plus the food in 10x better, much healthier and much better service. read more

I did not care for the taste of the steak they had, but my companions loved it. My breakfast was perfect. Service is slow as there was only one waitress (on a Saturday morning). Yuck! Go across the street to Ruby Burritos and get a better breakfast! There has been hair in our food on multiple occasions. When asked if they could make sure the hash browns are done and crispy the waitress said that "you get what you get" and they cook all the hash browns the same. I have never been told that before. Grandma's is a nice little place to stop for breakfast in this small town. It is pretty much the only choice as well, besides Ruby's across the street (which I also left a review for) They have fresh squeezed Orange Juice, which my Son, and Husband really enjoy from anywhere. There has never been a long wait, or a problem with our food. The food is good, nothing to rave about, just typical family restaurant style menu. I would recommend going here if your trying to find a good breakfast and are in the area. I probably would not go out of my way to come here, but all in all not bad. read more

This restaurant has very bad service and a very rude waitress! The waitress was carrying a baby around the restaurant. We have eaten here dozens of times and we've never had an issue - but now I think it's because the place is usually empty when we are there. Located in little shopping center with mostly empty stores is a great little mom and pop find. We asked the locals and this is the place that kept coming up. We were fretted as soon as we walked up and only had to wait a couple minutes. The food was really good, we were there for breakfast. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Our server was great. Started coming here over Rubys just because it doesn't look like it's falling apart inside and the last time I went to Rubys I made the mistake of going to their bathrooms.... So now we go to grandmas pricing is pretty average some items a little higher than others. We have special requests every time we're there (food allergies, extra crispy this or dry that ect,) and they have accommodated with out any issue. Service is a slight bit off on busy mornings like others have posted. All in all not a bad local breakfast stop! read more
