Ordered my first item off the menu and was asked to wait a second while I was waiting patiently 5 other cars in the line next to me ordered. I had to say hello before someone came back on and didn't apologize or anything. Had to repeat my order several times. When I got to the window they gave me the wrong drinks. Fries are cold. Not the first time I've had a bad experience here. Just got home. Gave me the wrong drink again. Make sure to check your food before you leave read more

I live nearby so I go here once in a while when I give into my cravings. I'm not gonna lie, I friggin love McDonald's! I don't eat there all the time, because I know their food is unhealthy (doh), but I do indulge once in a while and thoroughly enjoy my McFlurry and chicken nuggets. I've been going here for years and they have been dependable and never gave me any problems. They don't get my order wrong, their staff is always courteous, and the food is always tasty. Drive thru service is quick enough usually, even if they have a line of cars during lunch or weekends. I love that it's 24 hours, although they occasionally have the McFlurry machine break down late at night or in the very early morning hours. It's close to the baby beach and harbor, although there are many great options nearby and on the same street from $ to $$$$ options. Definitely McD if you're looking for something quick and reliable quality. read more

Are you serious???? Dana point McDonalds has raised their 1/4 pounder with cheese to $9.29!!!!!!!!! This must be some sort of joke!! In and out charges that for two burgers and it's fresh and HOT!!! Not cold and previously frozen!!! My husband asked to speak with the manager and was told it is up to the discretion of each store! Oh and I quote..."it keeps the homeless out"! Disgusting! Good luck McDonald's!!! read more

Rude workers. Food tasted nasty. Asked to get new coffees because they tasted bad and got nasty looks and attitude. Will not come back.

Wow this place is a money grab. Stay away and save money. 40 piece nuggets (two twenty pieces on receipt) over $20! McDonald's website list price $8.99. I'm all for businesses making a profit but this markup for fast food is unconscionable. This place is a joke and preys on hungry tourists looking for a modestly priced meal in a tourist area near beach. read more

This is your run of the mill McD's. Every time I've been to this establishment my order has been right. Is the staff and food above average? No. Is the staff and food below average? No. It's consistent to all other McD's I've been too. Not exactly sure why the negative reviews at this location. read more

Supposed to be national French fry day. Go through drive thru and order for my boys. They only want to give me 1 for free and charge me for the rest. They say if I walk in, I can get 4 for free. Ridiculous. I roll down my windows and show them all the boys. Still wouldn't budge. At this point, everyone is upset and doesn't want them. They still wouldn't budge. No apology. I WILL NOT come here again. Shady business practice and ruined something that could have been fun and attracted more business. read more

Ummm...... It's been 45 mins since 10:19pm and our order has not yet been called. I get it, under staffed, not informed of the Ohana Festival. But when you call out an order number that isn't on the service screen then something isn't quite right... Those fries sure sounded pretty good after a boozy festival but, its been 45 mins and they're closing soon.. and I guess I'll eat string cheese when I get home and pray that this McDonald's will be ready for Day 2 of Ohana Festival read more

This McDonald's has been close and reported to the orange county health department for not following the coronavirus guidelines. Aside from not being able to follow local health mandates this McDonald's serves the most horrible and horrific food in California. The drinks are never fixed the soda machine is always broken, the food is always old and it's always disgusting. The staff is rude, they get into arguments with the customers at the drive-through window at the point with the customers have to leave. Your entire afternoon staff that works right now is totally in capable of serving three cars in a line and preparing actual food for them. You need to replace the manager that works during this period. She has no skills to resolve a customer complaint, and thought she barely gave me my money back. She didn't apologize for the condition of her operation or anything she just gave me the money back after I had to Yellit her because she didn't want to. I'm sorry you're not gonna give me a refund because you gave me a soda that is flat and chicken nuggets that are two hours old? Save your money and go to different McDonald's until this McDonald's realizes that They can't be rude and nasty and serve nasty food at the same time and demand money. read more

This location has the most rude employees have any McDonald's I have visited. The staff also forget to bring out my order at least every other time I visit this location. On more than a dozen occasions I have been left in the drive-through parking spot waiting for my food I have to go inside and remind them about my order that I have been waiting for 20 plus minutes read more

*** Pitstop Review (Dana Point) *** This McDonald's is located in the really nice beach community of Dana Point. I've been in and around this area working for years and it's certainly a great place to make a pit stop. I dropped by to get some bio-fuel as well as a bio-break before starting the day. It's really interesting reading the low rated reviews. I can better understand how nice areas usually have really good service and products. It starts by having high standards and expectations from their patrons. Here's what liked... * This is obviously a newly remodeled restaurant and looks really nice both from the inside and outside. * Believe it or not but the food is actually decent. I eat a McBreakfast often because of the obvious reasons, it's cheap and FAST so I can get where I need to go without having to sit down and dine-in. With that being said, it is possible to f*ck up an sausage egg McMuffin! ha ha ha ... :-) and I've eaten at a lot of places where it's just dry and yucky. This is one of the few places where the bun is soft ... crazy, I'm so used to crappy quality that I actually notice when it's different and good. * Parking is plentiful for 7-8 am on a Friday. * Easy access off of a main street. Here's what I didn't like... * It's really strange that in such a nice area there's a sign at the door about not bringing your empty cup for a refill. Are people really that cheap??? * What's up with all the no loitering signs? Is this where all of the laptop hobos hang out? * I've NEVER seen the bathroom door locked in a nice area. This is common in lower end areas, especially where there's a lot of homeless folks. (Very interesting...) ********************************* Food = good Seating area = very clean Service = average Restroom = surprisingly very clean :-) read more

So I discovered this McDonald's while driving around in Dana Point looking for a fast food in Yelp. Oddly enough, this store wasn't listed in Yelp, so I decided to add it :-) This is a nice and neat store and it looks kind of new with modern decoration. The first McDonald's I've seen that has a complete list of nutrition facts posted on the wall. See the pictures for it. Also, you can find the name of its owner and a contact info on the wall which I thought was neat. This McDonald's has its own parking lot and a very nice outside sitting area. One thing I didn't like was that the staff didn't seem to be trained enough and didn't know about the basic things you'll see in almost all McDonald's, such as their specials. Also, their men's room had only one sink despite of having a big space. read more

McDonald's, needs to STOP being wasteful! There is no water fountain ANYWHERE in the dining area! The only way to get water is to ask the employee taking your order or get water from the bathroom. If you come here, you are more or less encouraged to buy a soft drink... the fact that most people do get soda here, notwithstanding. If you have a refillable canteen, don't waste your time. They will not fill it, instead giving you disposable water cups to fill it... defeating the whole purpose. I showed them my canteen to fill and I was given an inaudible acknowledgement. I handed them my canteen after paying. The employee said, "no", as another handed me two cups of water. I hadn't even the chance to say no, myself. And at that point they were going to be wasted anyway. I give them one star because the McDonald's was clean, otherwise, I don't know what rating I'd give. read more

McDonald's - No water available with soft drinks... This is how they fill a water bottle. So wasteful. It really defeats the whole purpose. - Fast Food Near Me - Dana Point, California

Terrible service. The food is like every other McDonald's except colder. And the inside itself is dirty and rundown. There are also always has homeless people outside. When you go through the drive through the screens are flashing or just black. When I went once my French fries were cold and when I asked the worker if I could get new ones he said "there's nothing I can do". Would not recommend to anyone unless they want a frozen dinner. read more

This McDonalds's is the epitome of all fast food restaurants you see in the movies. To quote Leo Getz, "They screw you in the drive thru" At this location it couldn't be more true, how can a restaurant always be wrong and still in business? because we as a society go "Eh, it's Mcdonald's what do you expect" So they have no incentive to fix how terrible they operate. So sad and so disappointing... Today's trip. Drive thru time - 10 minutes and i ordered the current promotion the steakhouse bacon burger. Not chicken, so how could it possibly take 10 minutes? i asked for at the speaker then reiterated at the window i wanted the Dbl Steakhouse bacon burger. The kid assured me that's what i was getting and sure enough when i asked to confirm at the pickup window i was given the single. I said forget it just give me what i didn't ask for. I got about a block away and went to drink the coke and tahdah! No straw!!!! !*@€$}**#£ Sub par service, really just so sad. read more

I wish I could give it no stars. 20 minutes for a cheeseburger in the drive thru. Only 5 people in front of me. I asked for my receipt and they refused to give it to me. Never going back. This was the third attempt to ask for a hamburger plain, a hamburger no sauce, but instead after having to get in the drive thru 3 times and trying to get down to the store to get the employees attention to tell them about the wrong order we were disregarded. McDonald's - What McDonald's thought is a hamburger. - Fast Food Near Me - Dana Point, California

This place has now messed up my drive through orders so comically bad the past three times we've gone there now. I even put the order in myself from the app to make sure there is no misinterpretation through the speaker, and they STILL get it so wrong. Missing items we ordered every single time. Wrong items that have things on it you asked them to remove. Even finding items in the bag we know we didn't order. I just can't even comprehend how they could mess up so bad and so often unless they just clearly aren't even trying. Tip: if you attempt to eat here, make sure you always check your order before you drive off the lot. I should have known better than to wait until we got home. We paid $53 for 3 QP burger meals, a box of nuggets, a sundae and some drinks tonight. They gave us the sundae and then made us wait 15 minutes for the food to arrive. By the time we got the hot food, the sundae was completely melted into soup. We got home to discover the fries were still partially raw, solid and mushy white, not even crispy and they had no flavor. And they forgot one of my kid's burgers and another's box of nuggets. And as if they wasn't enough, they gave us a random orange juice we did not order. I emailed corporate to demand a full refund. This is just ridiculous. read more

I'm gonna be honest. This was the worst customer service I've ever gotten from a McDonald's. Rude workers when we ordered and asked for extra condiments. read more

This McD's is friendly but slow and don't listen. We go to the area to get away on occasion and like to get breakfast. Each time, they either don't give you any of what you ask for or a HUGE handful. Case and point, today, ordered 2 sausage McMuffins and 1 hashbrown. We pay then go to next window, ask for 1 salt and napkins only. "Oh, please go to the side and park we are waiting on the hash brown". We par to the side and the manager (VERY nice) says everything is in there. Well, it is not, no salt and a TON of ketchup, why? What a waste! No salt......wife goes inside to get one packet and gal hands her a handful, of salt....really, wasteful! Anyhow, get on the road wife gets hashbrown not even 2 minutes in the car and it is COLD. Not even warm. yuck! Best Wishes to this location, better leadership and or more training for staff. Not a happy customer and being wasteful is NOT ok. Cheers! read more

The complete and utter lack of friendliness and professionalism is staggering. My friend and I went through the drive thru at 3pm & got the 6 pc chicken tenders and asked for 3 ranch and 3 signature sauces. They forgot the ranch and so we drove back after leaving the window. Once walking in the store to ask for the ranch the manager Joel said I didn't ask for it. I said yes I did, because I obviously asked for it at the window and had to come back for it. JOEL the MANAGER then threw the 3 ranch In my bag and turned his back on me. Very disappointing. After taking the initial shock of his poor customer service skills I was very mad that a regular customer like myself would be giving such treatment? I looked for the receipt in my bag and it wasn't there so I had to go back in and ask for JOEL's name. read more

Giving them a 2 just because they got my order right. But not sure what their orange cone etiquette is when leading cars through drive through - if one of the intercoms is broken, then don't have cones open to said broken intercom. Spent 5!minutes waiting for someone to speak or let alone come out and tell me it was broken and I had to back out and remove a cone myself so I could place an order. How long was someone going to leave me at that broken intercom, before telling me it was broken, or if it wasn't how long I would be waiting? read more

Dude I'm so glad there's so many complaints about the manager Joel. He thinks he runs the world because he's the manager at mc donalds. Sorry dude, you aren't special. I deliver food through an app, (Uber eats, doordash) and its standard drives can get a free soda when picking up, he made up "a coupon" I needed for this perk. It doesn't exist and I've shown (at least tried to while he wouldn't acknowledge me) that there is no such thing. I dropped it and asked if I could just have water then and he wouldn't even look at me. On top of this all he had messed up orders that required me to drive back to get the correct things, without pay, and I get yelled for all of it and all the while he's too good too give me a Dixie cup of water? F u Joel I hope the world presents you with all the things it owes you for being the almighty manager of a trash fast food place. The only reason this place deserves any stars at all is because the regular workers some how don't snap and do something violent deserve 17272459 gold stares. Joel you're an egotistical butt muffin who needs to take a good long look in the mirror before burdening the world with your attitude. Anyways happy Easter y'all read more

So to be honest the morning crew rocks. But I'm leaving this review for the night crew. Out of the 5 people I could see none was polite enough to ask me what I needed or notice that the ketchup was completely out. I've also witnessed the manager harassing people he doesn't like in the morning that look less than fortunate. In this particular case the individual actually paid for food went to sit down and then was immediately singled out by the manager and asked to leave. read more

McDonald's are pretty much the same everywhere and we all know what we're getting into when we step into one. I come here for a quick lunch when I don't have time and this place is quick to get your order out to you, but with speed like that they tend to be sloppy when you finally receive it. I ordered one McRib combo since it's back and haven't had it in a long time and I got my order just after I filled my drink. I get it's fast food but apparently they're already made or just really fast to cook. Took my food and opened it and my sandwich was upside down. Well the employees were friendly. That is about the only nice thing I can say about this place. While I have never actually been to a hobo camp, I imagine this is what one would look like. There were more homeless people both inside and out than paying customers. While I realize homelessness is a serious issue I don't see why this restaurant doubles as the local homeless shelter. I counted at least a dozen homeless some with carts bikes and missing shirts loitering about and panhandling. I had a hard time locating the combination of both clean table and chair. When I went to fill my drink the drink station was covered in fruit flies. I felt uncomfortable with having my child there and ended up taking our order to go. Overall a disgusting experience. I had previously only used the drive through at this location and I won't be back. read more
