Driving again for work. This time sitting in Columbus, Texas waiting to drop off supplies to another crew. I need a drink and a bathroom break so in I go to a recently remodeled McDonalds. Seems nice enough except for one BIG issue in my opinion. I heard or read that McDonalds new business model takes away the fountain drink machine in the lobby. This location is an example of that future business model. I really want tea; that's behind the counter too. My choices are now limited for several reasons. First, the sweet tea is too sweet. An employee told me they use 4lbs of sugar for each container. Even the "half cut" option is sugar overload. I like to make my own with 80% unsweet and top it off with sweet. Can I go behind the counter and do this? Second, language barrier. Let's face it alot of of current employees don't speak English. So, me asking for a specific tea and percentages is a wash. So now I'm limited to fountain drinks. Fine, a large Coke it is but it's not what I wanted. The boardroom always thinks they know what customers want. In my case it makes me look at other fast food options where I can do it myself. Stars reflect the lack of future choices versus any services provided by this location. Nice bathrooms! read more

Giving 4 Stars based on our visit. We ordered via the kiosk and took a number as instructed, thinking they would bring the food out as we were dining in. They bagged the food and called our number, but failed to give us our drink cups, or ask if we needed ketchup or sauce, so I waited patiently to be waited on and asked for cups, and sauce, so minus one star for all of that. The order as far as our food came out quickly, it was correct, and it was hot and fresh. The dining area was clean, and they were very busy for sure. read more

Leaving a 1 star rating because it won't let me leave zero. This store has issues. We arrived and the kiosk wouldn't register our selections. We could not get help until we had to call back to someone. We were completely ignored. When we did order, we ordered a hi-c orange, a Mac flurry, and a cookie tote. After waiting 15 minutes we got the Hi-C Orange. They set it down, called our number, and disappeared. Again we were ignored until we had to call for attention. We then asked for the rest of our order. They hadn't even started the cookies. We had to wait again. Almost 30 minutes total, while being ignored most of the time. Horrible service. read more

Stopped by passing through and decided to stop in for a quick bite. For fast food/McDonald's, the food was ok. Yes, I said ok. I'm giving this place a 4-star rating because I'm rating it in comparison to other McDonalds/fast food experiences. First of all, I had my kids. They were so excited when I pulled in and were begging me to go to the playground. To our disappointment it was closed. I can't blame McDonalds for this entirely since they closed it for their patrons protection (due to the CV pandemic). Every other table was closed too, but there was plenty of seating if you wanted to dine in. Plan b, order food and take it to go. There was quite a line of people waiting for their food (not actively ordering, just waiting for food from what it seemed like). There was a self order kiosk available and there was an employee taking orders as well. They seemed very efficient--as efficient as possible anyways. I placed my order at the kiosk--two (4-piece) happy meal and a Mc.Rib meal. The wait to pick up my food after placing the order was about 8 minutes. Again, efficient comparing my past experience w McDonald's/fast food. Time to review the food.....fries were awesome (love McDonald's fries!!) perfect combination of crispiness and saltiness! Mc.Rib, did not meet my expectations. Individually, "everything was there" --pork patty was large, enough BBQ sauce, onions and pickles were fresh/crisp, bun was toasted--but I remembered the Mc.Rib tasting better. Like melt in your mouth good. This was "ok". I wouldn't order it again but I wouldn't stop Anyone If they wanted to order it. The kids meals were as expected. That's one thing that is constantly consistent --the nuggets--crispy, flavorful, tender. I know they're not "real" nuggets but they're what I expect and like! Overall, a 4 star rating. Yes, 4 stars. Truck and sixteen foot cargo trailer maneuver all the larger than life pot holes on the off ramp, find a spot to park the rig and jump out to go inside and order some I-can-already-taste-it caramel Frappes....the cashier says the Frappe machine has "been" broken down....WHAT! Never mind that it just didn't happen, but it has "been" that way! Manager...get to work getting that fixed, call the repairman or replace it! If an item is on the Menu, it SHOULD be available! First and foremost their delivery truck was taking up all of their handicapped spaces, we were traveling with a handicapped person and had a hard time getting them in and out of our vehicle. We stopped in around 8:30 and ordered our food, took awhile which I was willing to forgive because they were busy, when I got my food it was wrong, so I took it back and they threw a fit about having to fix it. When all they had to do was toss some cheese on it. I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it, just wanted my cheese. Then someone else traveling with is gets their food and their order is completely wrong, they ordered a sausage and egg biscuit and had a ham & cheese McMuffin, the lady at the counter had the audacity to argue with her that her order was not wrong when it said right on the ticket what was ordered. More and more people were getting food they didn't order and at one point the food runner ripped a receipt out of someone's hand because he told her no, that's not what I ordered. The thing that bothered me the most however, was the delivery truck taking up every single handicapped spot. 100% illegal and not okay. We will not be returning. They are never staffed appropriately, it's not uncommon to pull up to order and be asked to wait 5-10 minutes before placing your order even if there is literally one car in front of you, and our orders are frequently wrong. Stopped by for a quick dinner on our drive between towns. The dining room was closed due to COVID but the staff was very friendly when we entered. The restrooms were clean and a very polite worker quickly took our order. We ordered two buttermilk chicken sandwich meals, both of which were excellent. The chicken was crispy and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a whole breaded chicken breast rather than a formed patty. Additionally the lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich were fresh and crisp. Then, while waiting for my smoothie, they took some drawer out to change a bag of something...the drawer was dirty and there was mold on the bottom of it. I should have been warned when we walked in and there were a dozen customers who had already paid, waiting for their orders. But we wanted breakfast, so I stood in line. When I was #2 in line, the manager gave the order to her staff to "change the menu," and from that moment on, they were no longer serving breakfast. I ordered a salad, figuring it would be quick. Employees seemed to be busy, fussing around, hugging one another, talking, but no food coming out - one reason may be that there were about 8 employees on the customer side of the works and only two in the kitchen. At any rate, after 35 minutes, and with customers piled up all around the counter, I went up to see what was going on more closely. A woman in the kitchen was obviously making a salad, but she'd stopped to have a loud and angry looking conversation with the person I think was the manager (who was standing on the customer side). Arms waving, angry face. No salad coming out. Having had enough, I called out "Maybe you could stop fighting and finish making my salad?" On this, I could feel customers backing away from me, and several gasped. The manager turned to me to call "What???" "We are not fighting," she said, and then stopped to explain to the salad-maker what was going on. "She thinks we're fighting." (Call it cultural insensitivity on my part? I don't think people with angry faces and raised voices and waving arms is an appropriate way to serve customers who have been waiting for a huge amount of time.) At this point the salad-maker disappeared. "She's gone to get your little oranges," the manager called to me." "Forget the oranges," I said. Another 4-5 minutes later, salad arrived, with oranges. I took my salad, pushed my way through the by-now two dozen customers milling around waiting for their orders. No one made eye contact - OMG she made a fuss! Unfortunate experience all round.
