I so love this McDonald's! Another perfectly made Big Mac with perfectly fresh fries! I know this shouldn't be a huge feat, but there are so many lousy McDonald's. I just had a Big Mac a couple of weeks ago that almost put me off Big Macs forever (yes Ocean Street Micky D's I'm talking about you). I find that 41st Street does it fresh and right every single time. Every. Single. Time. Fresh bun, over flowing fresh lettuce, fresh onions, and fresh fresh fries! How can one McDonald's be so fresh and one on the other side of town be so stale? I really do want to know. Went in today around 2:00 p.m. my son started to scan a coupon but the female cashier rudely said you need to tell me what it is first, this isn't the first time that we have received rude and bad service here. Took 35 minutes to get our order! We ordered at the kiosk inside the restaurant. After 25 minutes of waiting for our order I went up to the counter, it took 10 minutes to get help and another 10 minutes after she said she would work on my order. 45 minutes in total wait! Never again! read more

You're not expecting much at Micky D's, but the evening crew at this location is just horrible. I've been on several occasions after 7pm and the experience has always been the same, bad. It always takes at least 3 times as long to get your order as it would if you came at lunch or breakfast. Also one of the evening managers is the worst. All he can say is "can I help you?" and yell out order numbers. I felt bad for a elderly guy who tried to make small talk and the guy responded with "Can i help you?" twice. It's not hard to say hi and make a little small talk. Others taking orders are young and generally pretty friendly. Morning crew 5 stars and super friendly. read more

Awful. Early morning breakfast on Sunday, place was busy so food should have been fresh. Hash brown was completely saturated in fat, soggy gross grease. Breakfast sandwich was missing two of the three items I was charged for. As a whole this McDonalds is a disaster. Employee Eulogia is this place's saving grace. When she's here, things run smooth. When she's gone, it's a complete disaster. I don't think she's a manager because of the shirt she wears (pretty sure the manager is the guy with the button up... she wears a polo shirt like everyone else) but she absolutely should be. She's worked here as long as I can remember and I've never had anything but compliments about her work. When Eulogia isn't here, it a wreck. Last time, the manager kept interrupting my order to talk to another staff, making jokes at this young ladies expense. It was awkward, uncomfortable, unprofessional and annoying. When I finally got my food, they had made my Big Mac an open faced sandwich. Today I had the unique experience of coming in while Eulogia was finishing a break. I walked into chaos. People were impatiently waiting for food, tables were cluttered with garbage, none of the employees could get it together, especially Andrew who was having a passionate conversation with someone waiting for their food, instead of helping make the food. As soon as Eulogia aka McHero came back from break, I witnessed her do multiple peoples jobs and get the orders out for everyone waiting. Suddenly staff realized they needed to get it together. The tables got cleaned off, orders were being made in a timely fashion and staff did their job rather than engage in social interactions with hungry patrons. McHero deserves recognition, a raise and a promotion. It's obvious she holds down the fort. She leads by example. She doesn't tell people what to do with words, she shows them what dedication and outstanding work ethic look like, and they follow. read more

Another thing, I don't understand why this branch charges .15 more for a senior coffee than Watsonville or West Side, and .30 THIRTY! cents for an extra syrup for hotcakes when it''s free in the other two locations. read more

This McDonalds was great, they had the touch screens to order on and so we didn't have to wait in line, and when we got the food, the fries were perfect. They were crisp, as if they just came out, and tasted like they had fresh oil frying them. They had a soda machine with a touch screen so we got to choose whatever drink we wanted, and the burgers tasted great too. We didn't have to wait very long, but long enough to know they had cooked fresh ones. I'm not a regular at McDonalds, but I was impressed by this location. Good work! read more

I went in last week and witness when a staff opened the refrigerator to grab a slice of lemon , the cup tilted and all of the sliced lemons fell on the floor. The employee picked up all the lemon slices with her hands and put them back on the same cup, and put them in the fridge. How disgusting is that. YUCK!!! read more

After a day of surfing my family stopped to get a quick meal. we parked in back and opened the car to a trash filled run down parking lot that had used drug needles! We went in I used the restroom and it was FILTHY. We ordered 3 sandwiches and asked for BBQ sauce. She gave me one. I said can I have a few more, she said the will be .39 cents (don't remember exact amount). I said why? she said because we only give 1 per order. I said but we have 3 sandwiches. She said it still cost money for more. I asked to speak to the manager and with a smirk on her face she says I am the manager. Yea she was so rude. I always come get McDonald's after work, being that it is usually the only place open. I work closer to the Mission St location but I will happily go out of my way for this one. It is overall just better in every way! It is always extremely clean, very high tech, and has a great atmosphere. Sometime I walk in 15min before close and I am always greeted with a smile, and amazing customer service. Thank you to your employees for being so generous with their time, and always making me feel welcome. Plus, the food always tastes fresher at this location. read more

I've never been to this location and came in for a breakfast sandwich. It was really bad. I got the sausage Mcmuffin with egg and the muffin was really tough and they use a different sausage patty than other McDonald's. It's half the thickness and flavorless. Won't be back and I am getting a refund. And to top it off they don't offer the 2 for 4 breakfast sandwich deal. read more

Realistically, no one expects much from McDonald's however, you do expect the minimum. So when you receive less than that something has to be said about. The last few times I have been to this particular store (I go about once every 3 months or so) for a quick on the fly breakfast, I can't seem to get what I order. I have taken the time to repeat my order more than once and I get the head bob and "yes, yes" response yet when I get to the car and take the order out, it's wrong. For some reason trying to get cheese on a "sausage, egg and cheese biscuit" is a problem. You're right, I should check the order when it is handed to me but really? Should we really have to open up the sandwich and check to make sure that all of the ingredients are accounted for? Really? To top this off they now have this policy of accosting diners as you enter the store to "assist" you with taking your order at the SELF-SERVICE kiosk. Maybe this is to compensate for the changes in the way the menu is now designed. There used to be a clear differentiation between "Meals" and "Sandwiches" with sides of single items. Now, at least on the "all-day breakfast" menu, everything listed, which appears as individual items, is a meal without any breakdown of what is in the undesignated meal. And now, where are the individual sandwiches and other items for breakfast located? Don't know. So be sure and get assisted at the "self-service" kiosk or more like the, here is another place to have someone take your order touch screen. Wierd... it makes you wonder who is making these random changes and why. Let's just take something that works and is simple and make it so that you need two systems working in tandem to take an order. But it would seem that that is what is needed since you can't decipher the self-service menu and the counter system consistently gets it wrong. McDonald's... really? Oh my gosh what has happened to this McD's! I grew up coming here. Yes, it has always sucked having this location without a drive-thru. Sucha mistake. For sure this location has gone downhill. So sad! The staff is so-so. This place though needs a deep deep cleaning. Even the cooking area doesn't look the best. The bathroom was not clean either. The service really is slow. Came for lunch and they had one cashier to a whole gang of people lining to the door. I also hate hate hate that the soda machine is behind the cashier area so we cannot get our own. I only went here because I was grabbing something for a friend and also because it is very close to Capitola Mall. But this bad review has nothing to do with the service or the food. I actually liked how fast the service was and how friendly they were. This bad review is actually for their bathroom. Their bathroom smelled DISGUSTING. I walked in and it smelled like nobody had cleaned it all day. I had to breathe into my clothes in order to be able to even smell something clean. The garlic fries were soggy and luke warm, tasted like the oil was on the verge of being rancid. You can't take fries that are waiting to be served and toss them and hope they will be #1. The chicken sandwich was just ok but could have used a little something. The highlight of the meal was the regular ice tea. Oh well back to Burger King or In and Out. read more

WOW! I believe we have a winner! This is probably the first McDonald's that I have ever given a 5 stars to. This is all accredited to the one cashier who took my order. He was extremely friendly and helpful, fast, and did not forget my order. I got a very good vibe from him. Although I do not remember his name, I would hope that one day soon, he gets a promotion. After he took my order, he even had the courtesy to tell me he was going on break, and that the other worker would hand me my food once it was done. That is the most courteous thing someone working at McDonald's has ever done for me. Good customer service...makes me so happy, knowing that someone can make the best out of any situation. read more

If you come here later in the day, don't expect them to have anything. They were out of sweet tea, regular tea, and ketchup. They had ketchup for burgers but wouldn't give us any for our fries we ordered. They told us if we wanted ketchup we needed to buy a burger and scrape it off. What McDonald's runs out of ketchup with a store that still had to be open for 3 more hours. Make tea and get more ketchup before you run out, shouldn't be so hard read more

I've lived all over California and have been going to McDonalds for 35+ yearts, and Capitola is by far the WORST McDonalds I have ever frequented. I give this place one star because they didn't screw up the food. But it seems to me they have a bunch of young kids running the afternoons. During the wait I saw the manger basically yelling at his employ for asking for his schedule. After he literally pushed him with his foot softly to make him go out. I eat here at least once a week. No drive through, but I suspect there is some political reason behind that. Anyways, their coffee is as good as you would get from starbucks and it is just $1. Since I was 4 years old I loved Mc D's hamburgers (sliders). Also I regularly have the Sausage Egg Mc Muffin for breakfast (wife gets the health oat meal) from this location for over a year now. Sometimes there are homeless people hanging out there. It is probably the only place they can afford to pay for a hot meal and they don't bother anyone. The people working are good efficient and fast people. I'd couldn't do their job. I was fired from a "Baker's" in So Cal. after two weeks! It is not an easy job. But if Mc D's needs to automate to keep service fast and inexpensive I wouldn't mind. read more
