Ordering can be very hit or miss. I've picked up two orders to go in the past week and each time one of the items was wrong (wrong as in someone else's order, not mine). Typical McDonald's with inconsistent food and bad service. However, the chicken sandwiches from the dollar menu are actually surprisingly tasty. If you get a dollar menu chicken sandwich and dollar menu drink, you can get a decent lunch for under $3. But... everything else is pretty expensive for not so good food. A big mac is around $8. And when I called in this place to check in my order, they said that don't see any of my order!( I gave them my order number) . But not found in their system!... First the last at the counter who called our number was rude. We asked for Buffalo sauce which was on your receipt to get and a drink carrier since we had 5 drinks. I just got done eating here and is very disappointed. 1. The women restroom has only one stall but is dirty . I went to the front to request for them to add toilet paper and after 20 minutes of waiting , it was not replaced. 2. I ordered their spicy chicken sandwich, oh lord, it tasted freezer burned. My husband and I are running errands today and stopped in here so we could get food FAST at a FAST FOOD place. We orders 2 quarter pounder deluxe with cheese and fries. Not difficult. Not special. It took 20 MINUTES to get our to-go order. 20 minutes! Our number went on the board and left, and it was 10 minutes after our order number disappeared that we FINALLY got our food. The employee, Andrew, who brought out our breakfast was polite and was very kind when I requested some sugar and cream for my coffee that I neglected to order when I ordered my coffee. Laid off of fast foods for a little over 6 months. Since I met Craig, I realized I was consuming stuff that is harmful to my body. This isn't about weight loss. I made a point to eat healthier and cheat big if I'm going to eat junk; super burritos, cheeseburgers, eggs benedicts, Philly cheesesteaks, chilaquiles (one of my favorite breakfasts), pastrami sandwiches, pizzas... you name it. I have been struggling financially so I had to resort to fast food for my kids last Saturday. I should have spent the same amount that I did spend ($10 and change) on something from Trader Joe's. I regret it but what can I do now? I have learned my lesson. No drive-thru. I repeat. No drive-thru. This fast food joint ain't fast because I waited hella long for my kids' orders. I've been to this location twice. The first time in the morning - I parked in the back which immediately was the wrong choice - ever get the feeling something wasn't right. Two other cars with people no one was eating or leaving, so I parked up front. The second time at night in the front of the restaurant - very dark - the lot lights are off - actually it seemed the only lot lights that were off were in front of McDonald's. Inside - they are so slow! They look like they are moving fast but both times it took almost 20minutes for the orders to be ready. The food was warm at best - the fries disappointed. The decor is older and dirty. Sorry nothing good to say about this location - did notice the owners info is listed for Gilroy - maybe the owners should spend some time in Capitola. read more

But something very odd happened today we walked in starving to death and this young employee by the name of Aeden asked us if he could take our order at this new order booth things they have. Oh my god he was so nice, patient and made recommendations. They gave us free cookies today, I'm shook. The McDonald's is CLEAN, yes you heard me all the tables were clean, the employees uniforms were neat, ironed, washed. This McDonalds has no clue about how to use the mobile App for ordering and making sure they don't screw over customers. The manager lied up front and then admitted 10min later that it was broken. I asked for my money back and she wouldn't give it to me either. Too another 10min of back and forth for her to cough up the money. This was a very satisfactory McDonalds visit. As a frequent McDonalds customer I have never experienced better customer service than I have here at this location. My kids were very happy with their fries and Mcflurries. Although the service was above and beyond there were still some flaws. We had to wait around 25 minutes for our Mcflurries and fries, my children were getting restless and impatient. There was also no playground for my kids while they waited. Looking past this, it was an overall great McDonalds trip, will definitely come again! read more

Stopped here to pick up a McRib sandwich and an order of French fries. The restrooms are closed. Takeout only. All employees were wearing gloves-Except a woman wearing a red shirt, who also happened to be the individual loading orders into bags and handing them to customers. She was a very nice Mexican American woman with beautifully crafted fingernails. I politely asked her why everyone else was wearing protective gloves but her. She apologized and said "oh, sorry, I keep forgetting them". HUH? Then she asked if I wanted ketchup and I said "yes". With her bare hand, she grabbed five ketchup packets and dropped them into the bag directly in top of my french fries (in theory contaminating them). I then tossed the top layer of french fries out and left. The fries were stone cold and were the driest and most flavorless in memory; the McRib was soggy and warm (not hot). It had been quite sometime since I had patronized a McDonald's. I doubt I will be returning to another McDonalds anywhere-ever This place should be shut down by the Santa Cruz County Health Department....Inexcusably negligent food handling. . read more

I ordered a quarter pounder combo, and paid with a debit card. Then I sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually I went up and asked if my combo was up yet. The lady asked the cashier who took my order what happened, and she told her, 'Se fue.(He left.)' I told her, 'No me fui. I'm right here. Where's my combo?' The lady tried to claim that the debit card transaction had been cancelled, and she asked me to pay again. I looked up the transaction on my phone, and showed it to her. It had already gone through. I asked her to give me the combo or a refund. She refused. So I have turned to Yelp. I looked on McDonald's website for information on where to file a complaint with corporate headquarters. Back in my day of working customer service, if corporate got a complaint, they would go check it out. Not so anymore. McDonald's actually has a FAQ: 'I got charged twice, where can I get a refund?' Then the website says that they will not issue a refund unless you call your bank and contest the charge. That means that their company policy is actually to run the card twice, and then hope you won't go to the trouble of contesting the charge. I find that rather sickening, don't you? Bottom line: this is a great place to go if you feel like handing over your money, waiting around, and then never getting any food. read more
