So I figured I would start my review with some of the statements from the employees I hear while eating my afternoon late lunch. "It's no my problem" "I am tired and ready to go home" "don't yell at me" and "it's not my job"... All of these statements permeating from behind the counter from different employees. There was no service with a smile here today. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I NOTIcED THiS HERe!!!! Poor attitudes, bad management, lack of leadership and low expectations of employees are what you get from this McDonald's. The food is good and it was fresh and hot today, however it is very inconsistent. The drive through is efficient and that may be the way to go if you want to avoid the people inside. I like McDonald's, but this may be my least favorite one now. Such a shame

Quarter pounder with one bite take out.

My husband picked up my quarter pounder with cheese on wed last week. I bit into my burger and it was raw. I like my own burgers med rare but not from there. I have been sick these last few days after eating that burger. I live about 10 min drive to take back. Thank go's I don't have kids or my duck mom home right now eating that .

The McDonald's deal that Bordentown McDonald's refused to honor.

This Friday I found myself at a Raising Cane's in Burlington, New Jersey, which as far as I know…read morehas never been the setting for any great epics, unless you count the war between people who like coleslaw and people who don't. I was there with my son. He had just finished his volunteer work, and we were both hungry. Hunger makes philosophers of us all. I had read the reviews. Many of them said things like "the service is terrible" and "this place is a mess" and "the toast was a war crime." These people must have been living in a parallel dimension, because what we experienced was very nearly delightful. My son got the Box Combo. That's four chicken fingers, a pile of fries, a slab of Texas toast, a little dish of coleslaw, and a drink. He chose sweet tea because he's no fool. He told me beforehand he didn't want the slaw. Kids these days. So I took it. I'm the father. That's what we do. He liked it all. Said the chicken was hot and tender inside. The Texas toast got a nod of approval. That means a lot from a kid who does not pull punches when it comes to food. I got the Three Finger Combo. Fewer fingers but still enough to remind you that you're alive. Fries, toast, sweet tea. No frills, just hot food done well. When the food came up, someone shouted "Hot fresh chicken for Jerry!" They weren't lying. That chicken was blistering. Had to let it cool for a minute or two before my mouth could handle it. Once I did, I found it juicy and delicious. People speak of Cane's Sauce like it's the nectar of gods. I found it fine. Not worth composing sonnets over, but pleasant. The chicken pieces were a bit on the smaller side. That's not a complaint. Quality over quantity, folks. Give me a smaller thing done well over a big one done half-heartedly any day. The slaw was cold and creamy and fresh. I liked it. It's the kind I like, chunky, not obliterated into tiny pieces. No one will write a song about it, but I'd eat it again. The sweet tea was sweet tea. You know what that means. If you don't, move south for a summer and you'll learn. The service was excellent. I mean it. The woman who seemed to be in charge was sharp and kind. She took our order and later came by while we were eating, asking if everything was good. It was. That kind of check-in might not seem like much, but it reminded me that humans are still out here trying. The dining room was clean. It was well-lit. It was also about five degrees colder than the surface of the moon. My son and I sat there with goosebumps on our arms like it was some sort of poultry-themed Arctic expedition. Still, I'd come back. I'd even bring a sweater. Sometimes good chicken and good company are enough to make you forget the cold. Almost.

We ordered a smash burger taco and the grilled cheese smash burger combo with cheese curds and the chocolate brownie delight sundae. The smash burger taco was smaller than we expected, but tasted great and very fresh. The star of their menu for sure is the grilled cheese smash burger. So cheesy, topped with Freddy's sauce, plus the smash burger and bacon.....YUM. First time trying fried cheese curds and custard and they did NOT disappoint. We've had poutine, but they're not wrong saying everything tastes better fried. And for the custard - thick, so chocolaty and the brownie on the bottom was a delicious surprise. We had an issue with ordering at the drive thru but the staff were very nice and made up for the mistake. Freddy's is absolutely worth trying and we cannot wait to go back!

I love the convenience of the kiosk ordering. Service was very quick, and everyone on staff was so kind and helpful. I was blown away by their gluten-free menu. They offer gluten-free buns for burgers and sandwiches, gluten-free crispy chicken, and even gluten-free desserts. I tried the Turtle Pie and the Lemon Raspberry Pie--both were delicious, but the Turtle Pie was truly to die for. This was hands down one of the best burgers and fries I've ever had. Gluten-free bread can really make or break a meal, and this place does it right. The gluten-free bun tasted fresh and delicious, the burger itself was incredibly juicy and flavorful, and the basil aioli was insanely good. I also ordered their specialty Cherry Cream Cola, and it was so good that I had to get a second one. It tasted like a fresh, sweet Cherry Coke and was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. I sat outside and brought my dog, and one of the staff members even came out with a bowl of water for him. Such a thoughtful touch that made us feel so welcome. It being dog-friendly is definitely a huge bonus for me. Amazing food, wonderful service, and one of the best gluten-free experiences I've had. I can't wait to come back!

***2 1/2 stars***…read more Maybe I'm just not into the concept of smash burgers, but I really didn't get the hype with this one. This was a special request from my top-tier chum from the Kingdom of Sussex, who'd been eyeing up this place for months and petitioned to come here after our NJ Bookstore Crawl adventures last weekend (I wanted to go to the only guaranteed high quality eating establishment in the Kingdom, Farmer's Daughter in Newton but was overruled by the home crowd). I'd heard some decent buzz about it myself and am always up for trying something that looks edgier than the average bear in Sussex, so off we went (even though I had a BBQ later in the day that basically had all of the food that was provided at this establishment - that's on me for sure). The entrance was a little hard to figure out; initially we went to the front of the building but there wasn't an obvious entryway and we belatedly figured out it was on the side. Some extra signage in that regard could go a long way, but not the biggest deal. We got inside, and that's what matters. Very clean and spacious, with some Western/patriotic themes; I can always get down with some longhorn displays and whatnot. The business model/ordering system is a little odd in that it almost offers too many methods, if that makes sense. It seemed like you could get normal table service, but there was also a counter where I think you could place a normal order, or a kiosk at the front to do so, OR a QR code at the table. Lot going on, and ambivalent on what to make of it overall - I guess it's better to have more options in theory, but I thought it was unnecessarily chaotic/confusing. We opted for the scanning of the QR code at the table, which was fine. My chum didn't realize you could tilt the QR display to get a better angle for your phone, but I'm certainly not going to blame Burger and Butcher for that 10 seconds of chaos. By far our biggest issue was the price point. Neither one of us is averse to spending money when the situation arises, but this was pretty egregious to the point where it really tainted the whole experience. We both got a burger and split an order of fries. That was the meal. Now, full disclosure, we got the "better" burger, the Waygu, which was 4 ounces and $15. Not worth it. I think part of is the smash burger of it all, but I definitely didn't notice the allegedly higher quality cattle involved, and I got it plain so no condiments to distract the palate from the essence of the bovine. I would 100% just go for the cheaper burger here, which is $10. The accompanying fries were fine (some were squishier than others, and those found their way closer to my chum for her consumption) but cost a separate $8. It reminded me of Zinburger, which probably isn't around anymore because they constantly gauged you with additional costs for sides like this. And THIS was wild - if you wanted ketchup? No problem. If you wanted literally any other sauce featured on the menu, just a little container of it? At least an extra $2. At a certain point, it's less about the price and more about the principle. And again - nothing we had was significantly better than what you'd get at Five Guys or Smashburger and for the price it should be. The staff was perfectly nice and since this is basically higher-end fast food, our meals came within five or 10 minutes. Fine on that front. But if I want to spend $30 for a burger and side (which is what this came down to, including tip)? I'm just going to go to a nicer, sit-down restaurant with more options and better food. Disappointing and I hope they really reconsider the pricing structure because in this inflationary environment, you're alienating potential customers before they even get to sample the animals.
