We stopped here because my wife wanted the potato chips which, if you didn't know, have been…read moreremoved from the menu - unless you order from the catering side. Defeats the purpose of offering fresh hot chips if you can't get them except to go for catering purposes. They would literally be cold by the time you got them to go for a function off site from the physical store. I hope someone from corporate sees this. Anyway, the rest of the food we ordered was as expected, hot and good.

Thanks to Mr. Chimetime's (see his YT channel) review about the new chicken tacos at Zaxby's, I…read morefigured I'd venture out to a Zaxby's location while staying in Baton Rouge for an assignment. YELP brought me to this location where I ordered one of each taco along with some veggie eggrolls in the drive-thru. Now here is where it gets messy (literally). After paying, I'm informed to pull up near the entrance door and they will bring my food out. After about 8-10 minutes, I see a girl come out swinging a zaxby's bag around and standing there. Finally I make eye-contact with her and ask her if that's my order. After repeating the order to her, she swings the bag into my arms instead of just handing it to me. I wanted to scream at her cause when you swing a bag of tacos, they will spill and get messy. Of course when I opened the boxes, that's what happened: sauces all over the place and fillings spilled out of the tortilla. Finally getting to my room, I unwrapped and put them together and started eating them. The tacos aren't bad, definitely would've tasted better had they been put together instead of shaken by a swinging bag. The veggie eggrolls tasted exactly what cafeteria eggrolls taste like. Pretty depressing overall after paying $15 for the order. Don't think I'll be back to this Zaxby's with the way the employees handle to-go orders.

Shake Shack Baton Rouge - Shack Stack

Waited a little while to try this place out but have been going to the Baton Rouge location since…read moreabout 10 months after opening. We always eat inside, unless we are just getting a shake, then we use the drive thru. The service inside is always great, it's always clean and the food is typically brought you in a very timely manner for being cooked to order. The burgers are always juicy and contain a really good sear. The taste of beef and really good rendered beef fat is the flavor you get first. Which in my opinion, I want the great taste of seared beef and the juices to carry the burger. Not a sauce, not a bun, the beef. Shake Shack uses Martin's potato buns, which is the best bun for burgers. Other buns may work however, Martin's potato buns the best. This is the type of burger that doesn't even need condiments, however their shack sauce is good but very similar to other burger sauces. Their Chicken Shack has also been very good when I ordered it a few times. Chicken is hot and crispy. The pickles are good but the herb aioli is a must. Get extra on the side, it's really good with the sandwich and fries. I tried the limited time BBQ rib sandwich, it was also very good. However, not as good as the burger or chicken sandwich. It's a shame but also not horrible the best burger in Baton Rouge comes from a chain. It's disappointing because just like pizza, Baton Rouge does not have any great options. Shake Shack being the best available in Baton Rouge isn't a bad thing though because it's a really good to great burger and two, because of all the chain places it's arguably the best. You could argue Five Guys or In N Out, but I have had all three and Shake Shack is the best in my opinion as far as chains go.

I know this place is a chain, though I think it's only a local one (Baton Rouge and maybe a couple…read moreof surrounding towns), and I'm not the biggest fan of chains but until someone proves otherwise, Po-Boy Express has the best po-boys in B.R. The bread, although slightly pressed, is stupendous. Soft, which is how your po-boy bread (French loaf) should be. Hard, tough, chewy, too crispy.....all of those are cardinal sins and in that regard, Po-Boy Express is sinless. The second, and equally as important, part of a po-boy is the "insides".......the meat and vegetables. Well, my favorite po-boy has always been the shrimp and Po-Boy Express does this justice and much more. The shrimp are tasty enough to eat by themselves. Seriously. You could take 'em all off the sandwich, act as if you bought a shrimp platter and be completely satisfied. And they PILE dem thangs on there like it ain't nobody's business. One of the marks of an outstanding po-boy is an abundance of meat and this place excels in that department. Shrimp were BUSTING out the sides of mine. My hot sausage po-boy had a nice amount of meat as well. The lettuce.....the tomato.......everything about my po-boys made me miss home as soon as I hit the interstate to head back to FL. They were so good, I had to get another right before leaving. If someone in Baton Rouge knows of a joint that serves better po-boys, let me know. Until then, I'll have to keep singing the praises of Po-Boy Express.

Always a pleasant experience when we come here! It is great for what it is, it's a 4/5 only because…read morethe building and inside could use a bit of an upgrade.
