I was part of a two-van hiking group passing through Barstow. We stopped here for a quick bite and were impressed with how efficiently we were served in spite of the number of people. The bathrooms are clean and there are benches out back to sit and eat. ***BUT, what prompted this post is to publicly thank Rebecca, an employee, and Angela, the the owner for their honesty, time and effort in returning my cell phone to me. I left it on day one of a 9-day trip. Unable to go back for it, Angela graciously went out of her way to get it in the mail. Basic place, different setting for being part of a travel station like bus station; yet could have clean restrooms more better. Servers are good people. At least its a place to walk around away eating your food. read more

We saw a big sign on the freeway right before getting off at this stop in Barstow advertising 2 for 1 frappes on Mondays through Fridays. It was a Monday, so we decided to try it. When we got to the front of the line and asked before placing our order, the employee apologized but said that this particular McDonald's didn't participate in that promotion. So why have a big sign advertising it right before the exit? We even wrote to McDonald's about this, but there was nothing they could do except "share" our comments with their marketing staff. We ended up leaving the restaurant without buying anything, and needless to say, we won't be going to any McDonald's in the future. read more

Went in to the McDonalds drive thru today. Had to repeat my order 3 times and they ended up putting extra ice after saying no ice in my soda. And then she purposely dropped my change and didn't even say anything. I went inside to speak to the manager and told her how incompetent her employee was. And she kept saying that I was impatient and blaming it on me and the wind. For one it wasn't windy for two how am I being impatient when I let her repeat things three times. Not only was the drive thru employee incompetent but so was their 19 year old manager. And even told me have a nice day in a sarcastic way. And I paid money for them to treat me this way never again!!! read more

I went to the drive thru of McDonalds to get a soft serve ice cream. The service was fast and the ice cream was great! Best ice cream I've ever had! I'll be going back to get more. Their ice creams are sent from heaven. read more

This McDonald is super busy but that is a not a good reason for employees to be rude as well as the manager. My order was late because they are out of trays. Our order is for dine in but instead they decided to put them in a paper bag. When the tray arrived the employee just put the bagged order on top of the tray. I told them that our order is dine in. I was ignored twice so ask for the supervisor. The supervisor just took the food out from the plastic bag and left all the condiments in the paper bag. Worst thing that i witnessed was an employee cleaning the tables and collected some left over coffee creamer and brought them back and put them them inside the counter mixedwith the new creamers read more

Stopped by on our way home from a bus trip. Staff was so disorganized. Ordered hamburger, chicken nuggets, grilled chicken sandwich, 2 small iced coffees and 2 Oreo frappés. Received cold hamburger, crispy chicken sandwich (not grilled), no chicken nuggets, and 1 large iced coffee (not small). Waited at least 15 minutes for remainder of drinks and they came one at a time. Another customer was screaming at the staff because his drink order was wrong and one lady waited over 15 minutes for a sundae that she didn't get previously. This McDonald's definitely needs some staff training. The lines were not that long and the time of day was 2:15 pm. read more

For my first time on 3/22/16 at 5:10am that I come to this McDonald's I thought the train theme was kind of cool ...but then I realized that the jammed up cars in the drive thru for 15-20 minutes put on hold....we look like a train of cars..... No different than any other McD's. I'm not a big McD's fan anyway, but this is a good "pit stop" when driving on the 15. Asked for "iced pumpkin spice latte" as opposed to their regular hot "pumpkin spice latte" and they did it no problem! :) read more

This Mc Donald's is a hustle. First, we came in because it looked fun with the train carts. We got in the "station" and it was a flea market type set up. We ordered are food to stay and started on the coffee. The coffee was so thin it must have doubled the water. Our boxcars was freezing and most of the tables were filthy. The credit card machine we payed at was gross as well. It was not busy. When we talked to the manager he said they would not turn the heat on. He gave us our food to GO not stay. When we confronted him on it he replied, " I can put you bag on a tray." Disgraced we asked for our money back and the manager pointed at a big sign behind his head saying, " Absolutely no refunds". A sign like that tells you something, we were not the first ones to demand our money back. We ate in the car and the bread was at least two days old. They stiffed us of all our five orders of hash browns, apple juice, straws and ketchup. What a joke! Later we stopped at another mc Donald's in Barstow owned by the same guy and they Microwaved it. Went through the drive thru. The Big Mac was so cold that it was uneatable. Our chicken mc nuggets were only a bit warmer, more like room temperature. It was so gross that neither of us could eat the food. Not to mention that it was a potential health hazard to serve it. Should of went next door to Popeye's Chicken. read more

This was by far the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. If it weren't for the neat tourist appearance there is no way this place would be in business. If I were the owner of this location the first thing I would do to improve it would be to fire all the employees because they are so rude that it makes it the worst place in town to go. The second thing I would do is clean the place because it is disgusting and dirty. This was the worst experience ever. The manager was extremely rude and the food was dirty! After waiting more than 10 minutes in line to order our food we finally got service. We had to repeat our order in detail 3 times before it was read back to us properly. We had a realistic wait for our food, but after getting the food we realized we didn't have part of our order. So we had to go back and get the fries. I ordered a premium wrap and when I opened it I noticed that the tortilla was dirty. It was covered in something black that appeared to be dirt. I took it to the counter and showed the girl at the register. She agreed that it was disgusting and that it looked like dirt. Another girl walked over (I assumed was the manager) and she was visibly disgusted by how it looked also. She yelled to the back for them to make another one. I stood there for 8 minutes waiting on another one. Finally they came back up with a snack wrap which I informed them wasn't what I ordered. They said they would be right back. Another 6 minutes went by and I finally asked if it was almost ready. I then realized they gave my wrap to someone else. The (manager) finally brought me a wrap, I stood right there and opened it and noticed it was in fact dirty also. I went and showed my husband and then I took it back up to the register. The girl agreed that it was ridiculous and that I shouldn't eat it. The (manager, or woman pretending to be in charge) came over very rudely and was extremely hateful to me and treated me like I was the one that had gotten it dirty. I informed her that my family had been finished eating for a full 22 minutes at this point and I just wanted my money back because I wasn't going to wait another 12 minutes for another dirty wrap. She was extremely rude but I did get some of the money back. The problem is, she was horrible, the customer service was so blatantly terrible that I cannot imagine why this woman was hired. She knew how long I waited on my food, she knew the quality of the food was not edible and she still didn't want to apologize for the inconvenience it had on me and my family. After 22 minutes, my fries were cold and I couldn't even eat them. This was just the most unacceptable experience I have ever dealt with and I'm appalled that you have people like that woman running the place. read more

why let bus drivers or anybody for that matter cut in line of 20 people. we're all busy and in a rush. especially when his passengers ordering won't make a difference in him driving away any faster. no, I'm sorry this is our policy. just ignore the other customers patiently waiting. if anything the manager who let him cut should take his order personally at one of the two unmanned registers. read more

Worst food and service at a McDonalds I have ever had and I have had some crappy service but never enough to actually mention it again b cause I rarely go there! So i order 2 cheeseburgers, 4 apple pies, 1 grilled cheese w/the cheese actually melted with all the fixings they put on a regular cheeseburger (so a cheeseburger without the meat), a medium fries and a lm ice cream cone. So we get to pay at the 1st window guy has no idea how much anything is and meanwhile we are noticing that our ice cream cone and stuff is sitting melting at the second window where you pick up your food I asked him well let me go ahead and cancel that ice cream cone because it's already melted and we are in a hurry to get back on the road he proceeds to lie to me and tell me "We don't do refunds"! How can you not do refunds at a McDonalds and food establishment in general, like what do you mean?! "well I can't give you a refund because we don't take refunds"! So I said never mind I don't I'll ask when I get to the next window! By this time ALL of our food was cold , the ice cream looked worse than the poop emoji (in shape) and was melting everywhere and all over their hands and they proceed anyway to hand me the food! I said no thank you but I don't want something that's sat here and gotten cold and melted can you please redo the ice cream cone or give me a refund. She comes back with a cone that looked exactly like the other one and proceeds to tell us to pull up to the waiting area. I said no no no, give me exactly the food food that you were gonna give me. So I parked for our in 100+ degree weather and took that entire order inside the McDonald's and showed them exactly what they gave me and then they proceeded to tell me the guy was wrong about the refund and we could have gotten a refund the entire time from our car and then the rest of the food still was remade like crap! The only thing hot was the apple pies and they fooled us into thinking the rest of the order was hot because they put that on top and the other stuff on the bottom and they still made a crap tiny little ice cream cone that looked like it had been half eaten so my daughter was so disappointed! The cheeseburgers and grilled cheese and fries were all cold and the cheese was not even melted not one bit on any of it! We ended up throwing the food away at the next rest stop we got to!!! I've come to this location for many many years and this was the worst customer service and food service and items we have ever gotten at ANY McDonald's EVER and that says a lot! So I will never be stopping there and I will tell the rest of my family never stop there again because they are rude, ill informed and the food sucks so don't waste your money go before or after Barstow! If I could give zero rating I would but get it together Barstow, you guys are a landmark for people to stop at and this was horrible!! read more

This location is poorly managed. I was in town for a funeral and made a large purchase ($75). Most were meals and instead of bagging them as meals, it was all thrown together, making it more difficult to verify we had everything. I told the girl who brought it out (Amanda) to the car that I didn't finish checking the order and she said that's okay if anything is missing just call the number on the top of the receipt. When I got back to the house and identified what was missing, I called the location and told them I was returning for missing items. They had put together a partial order of what was missing and wouldn't give me the 2 additional cheeseburgers. Both so-called managers, Codee Lynch(?) & Justin Lee just ignored my request then said let me check the cameras so I waited longer and still nothing. I finally said I'm going to purchase the missing items because I had people waiting on me and I left a VM for the corporate office. Both so-called managers stood there like dumb and dumber, not knowing how to respond. They insinuated I was cheating them out of money; really on a $75 order and I left and drove back??? I noticed another person below commented on the similar situation. Check your orders and hopefully corporate will stop promoting immature and inexperience individuals to managers. They need to know how to handle discrepancies without insulting the integrity of their customers. read more

Over priced. Not like other McDonald's. Rude. Icky. Nasty. Stay away. We had traveled from California to Nebraska and back when we stopped in Barstow for drinks. We'd been to McDonald's in five states having great LARGE drinks that ranged in price from $0.89 - $1.19. When I ordered two large drinks in the Barstow drive thru I was shocked to get to the check out and find out the drinks were almost $5.00. Excuse me? It doesn't sound like much but imagine if you had a car full of kids. The young man at the window smugly told me that they did not have the one price for all on drinks (like every other McDonald's between Sacramento and Lincoln Nebraska) AND he did not give me a price after my order. Of course he didn't. I bet his a__h___e manager told him not to. This place is not only a rip off but they are rude about it. Do yourself a favor if you are traveling through and go to all of the great establishments on the other side of the highway where you won't get ripped off. read more
