I was wary of trying this McDonalds because of its 1.5 stars, but ultimately decided to continue being worthy of my maverick badge and try it. I was glad I did. First, I had absolutely NO issues. Second, the order taker was very friendly and made me smile. Third and most importantly, an employee actually checked on the diners, asked if everything was okay, and offered McDonalds-branded and individually packaged mints. The only other McDonalds I've frequented that has ever asked me if everything is okay is the corporate store at US 441/Donnelly in Mount Dora. No one has ever offered a mint before. I never even knew McDonalds had them, and I purchase ice tea at a lot of McDonalds since giving up soda over a year ago, especially since they introduced the any size drink for $1. This McDonald's is easy to access and exit from both directions on US 441 as there is a light into/out of the shopping center adjacent to the McDonalds. This McDonalds has outdoor seating, albeit with limited shade, that is pet friendly. read more

I had to wait longer at curbside pickup then the drive thru (which wasn't working the last time I was here.) Visited here 10/2/23. Food was good, order was made right. The lobby attendant, Miss Pat, was really helpful and nice, and deserves a five star rating. Can't say as much for the management on duty. There was a young man who was repeatedly mean to Pat and others, yelling at them constantly to 'get back to their stations' when the people were simply helping customers and doing their jobs. I understand managers sometimes have to be strict, but what he was doing kinda brought down the ambiance of the restaurant. He's the reason places like that have such a high turnover rate for keeping employees. read more

I pulled in to the drive-through just like everybody else on a Friday morning trying to get a quick bite to eat and go to work. The people inside said the drive-through was closed even though they were talking to me and everyone else that pulled through it. So I parked my truck walked inside.. there were two people standing at the front desk one of them being a manager and they were sitting there in front of all the customers gossiping about a fellow coworker there and how they were going to text their supervisor in a group chat and tell their supervisor what this person was doing. The individual they were talking about was not in the store at the time but I knew her name, what shift she was coming in and in their opinion of how she acted at work and so did everybody else in the lobby. At the time of that happening there was about 15 people waiting for their food. I understand there's conflict within your work and people you work with but the place is not for it in front of customers. Also As the people are working and trying to get everybodys food out and ready the manager is standing with her back turned against the customers staring at her phone texting while she could be helping everybody else move the line along. My caramel frappe that I got was half colored and caramel was more of a cream color than a light golden brown. There were a few things they were out of and it was just a really bad experience. Dont think Ill ever visit that location again Im also not the only one that was unhappy with the service that was provided. The people in the lobby Were upset with what was going on and how long it was taking to get our food. Especially with a store manager gossiping and texting upfront with another coworker and absolutely not helping anybody do any work to move the line along. There was also a lady that was telling everybody they had to use the kiosk although she was doing nothing but standing at the front with the manager gossiping. In my opinion there was no reason the drive-through shouldve been closed this morning. Due to the proximity of the brand new Mcdonalds tour our house, combined with having a 4 year old whole loves to get happy meals every now and then, we have wound up here a few times since opening. The first visit was an atrocious experience, culminating with terribly long waits (and it wasn't busy), and limp, undercooked fries that they just couldn't seem to get right no matter how many times they tried. The second visit was on a Sunday afternoon for a quick meal after church, and the place was still a train wreck. It took 20 minutes just to get a very basic order, and the line just piled up quickly as they couldn't seem to get anything together. Recently, the place has gotten marginally better, but honestly, if I just have to go to a Mcdonalds, I'd rather drive a few minutes more and hit up the one in downtown Apopka. Maybe after a few more months, they will get it all figured out. read more

I ordered on my own and waited 20 minutes to get a mcflurry and plain sunday(they were having money issues w/another customer). Ice cream machine was slow and could barely produce the ice cream. So, our ice cream looked soft, melted and not quite filled up. I asked for my money back but they were hesitant to refund me. So, I asked them to add more ice cream and they reluctantly add a little more. To top it off the lid didnt fit! They used to have great service here. Will wait till they work things out to come back. After a long wait in the drive thru, I placed my order, in the first window the cashier did not repeat it back and only ended up charging me for 1 M Fries when I had ordered 2 fries. In the second window I explained to the employee that I had asked for two and I didnt mind paying again then she stated I had to do the line AGAIN. Dear owner of this business.I was at this location today around 6:30pm with my kids.. went to drive thru to get smoothies, i got to the cashier and he gave me the nastiest look I've have ever gotten from anyone.. i asked him whats his problem was.. he wouldn't want to talk to me cause i was yelling at him. I was rude too I understand but you cant be rude to others for no reason and expect them to be nice... i asked for manager... she was not apologetic asked me if i payed.. and then told me to move on if i payed.. serious? I told the cashier to apologize and he was so sarcastic... just pissed me off more.. people like these should not be getting jobs at anywhere.. You must re-train your staff and get a real manager. Unfortunately fast food has become one of the worst food to try to get in Apopka. If it wasn't for the boo buckets at McDonald's we would not of even stopped at the one in front of home depot. #disappointing I remember enjoying McDonald's as a kid & it is definitely not the same. But to wait more than 30 minutes to get our order & for the food to be cold by the time we got it. The staff not even doing their job, for customers to be commenting on how they can't even get orders out. Then for staff to make comments to customers about they don't want to hear anymore complaints. Everytime we go to the mcds in front of HOME DEPOT in APK they get our order wrong. Today was especially bad. Placed an order in DT for my whole family (total was approximately $50). All of the hamburgers were made wrong. I sent them back at the window. The 1st girl said the food would be right out. Then the manager came over and told me I had to move to spot one "or she wouldn't remake my food.". I come to this drive thru very often, weekdays, and they are very efficient, came inside on a weekend & they were horrible. There was one other customer inside eating & it took 10 minutes for my food to be ready. I could understand if it was a big order, but I was with one other person. I They asked us to be seated & they would bring the food out to us, but it took so long I had to go up to the counter, & my food was just sitting there & then the girl at the counter started to get my coffee ready after she saw my unhappy face. This is hands down the worst MdDonalds we've ever been to. I rarely complain about service or food but this McDonald's takes the cake as far as bad service goes. This McDonalds is an absolute joke. I moved to the area about two years ago and I've given this branch 3 attempts. First attempt was for lunch while running errands. I did drive thru. Ordered my food. Sat at the order I screen for 14 minutes because traffic didn't move. Gave up and drove away. Second attempt was simply for a drink. Again, ordered, drove up but not quite to the window. Waited 15 minutes. Gave up and drove away. Today I saw only two cars in line so I figured it couldn't be a fail. I ordered my food. Drove up to the window and paid. Two cars didn't move in front of me so I ended up being stuck at the pay window. I sat there for 5 minutes and the same employee kept coming back to the window with a different pay amount as if I was a different customer. Finally I got to the food window and I got the complete wrong order. Thankfully i checked before I drove off. How could that much be screwed up with TWO CARS in front of me? Never again. Usually I have a decent experience here but the last time I went was horrible. Christian (he took my order) was very rude and sarcastic. He tried arguing with me yet he couldn't take a simple order. I asked if it was true that Mcdonald's had chocolate milk for coffee and he gave the biggest attitude and was so rude rather than saying "no we do not". I was beginning to get furious and told him he need to cut his attitude. The whole time, the manager was there and she did absolutely nothing about it.
