Tropic Trip Smoothie
Laura R.

What a lovely coffee shop in the heart of downtown Leesburg! Its rustic charm reminds me of home in New England! I got a tropic trip smoothie and banana nut muffin. The smoothie was good, just a little pricey. The muffin was average, nothing about it stood out to me. But the ambiance alone for this place makes it a spot I know I'd be down to meet friends or acquaintances at!

I learned alot about the town of Leesburg while I was here. Traveled a long distance to find a place where I can work with my laptop and just enjoy being out of the house. The ambiance at Vander Brew is EXACTLY what I look for in a coffee shop and it will probably go all the way up to my #1 choice for the central florida area if you want a really cool vibe to hang out in drink coffee or do laptop stuff... Leesburg is a very very unique place and the barista that watches over the place and serves you drinks....she filled me in.... She grew up in the area and knew everything about everything.... Here we go: Leesburg is Lake County Florida's oldest city. It sits on a chain of lakes. There is a very famous special college in Leesburg called Beacon College. This college is not like other colleges it caters specifically to students with learning disabilities and ADHD. While I was there inside the coffee shop I could see these students just wandering around crossing the streets at random points... not crosswalks. Many of them had headphones on and backpacks. I thought it was a bit unusual so that's why I decided to talk to the barista. Also, while I was standing inside this coffee shop I saw police officer and sheriff cars rolling down the very small main street of Leesburg every FIVE minutes. There is an extremely large and prominant Police Station in Leesburg in the dead center of town. When I drove past this police station, which was unavoidable, I found the parking lot to be loaded with as many cop cars as the City of Orlando. I was shocked. I googled this. There is about 64 sworn officers in Leesburg but it seemed like way more. 132 staff? Apparently, the Leesburg Police take care of a very large area of Central Florida. Keep crime at bay and kids out of gangs. I'm glad they are so diligent. However I have never seen such a small town with such a large police presence. If you ever decide to move to Leesburg, Just know...you will for sure be safe!

New coffee shop in downtown Leesburg. I love the vibe and the inside is very chic. I ordered a frappe. It was a bit too sweet for me, as it tasted more like a milk shake and $8 (with non-dairy milk) was a bit steep for me to not enjoy the drink. My partner enjoy the frappe so I think it just depends on what you're seeking.

We stopped by for a quick coffee and snack. We had blackberry latte and black coffee with bagels. The coffee was good and bagel was good but don't like when the butter is hard and won't spread on bagel. They have a small shop you can browse while waiting for coffee. We did not wait long for our coffee and enjoyed chatting in the window while we sipped our coffee.

I was so excited to see this new coffee shop had opened. It is located in downtown Leesburg next door to The Brick & Barrel. The colors and decor are very trendy. Menu includes coffees, teas, smoothies, milkshakes, hot cocoa and affogato. The drink sizes are 12oz, 16oz or 20oz. I love that they also have merchandise, snacks and fresh baked goods to purchase. Michael, the owner, is so friendly and makes a mean caramel macchiato! The prices, service and drinks are great. I can't wait to come back and try some of the baked goodies with my delicious coffee! You definitely need to visit this spot!

First, you can't go wrong with a smoothie. Yesterday…read more(4/30/2024) I visited this TS before going to work. I was on a timeline so I went inside vs drive thru. I ordered and waited. I then watched as many smoothies were being made and mine seemed to take longer than usual and it was getting close to being late for work. These 3 ladies were awesome. What I didn't know was they received a mammoth order and were filling the order before mine. I watched and saw the tickets spew out of their machine (online ordering) and they tag-teamed those orders AND got my order in my hand along the way. They did a fantastic job, they kept their composure and didn't let the tsunami of orders frustrate them. So if you visit and it seems like your smoothie is taking longer than usual, think to yourself "maybe they got a lot of online orders" instead of being frustrated that yours didn't come out in the regular time you're used to. Great job to those girls. Their smoothies are great, which is why I visit, but also they handle their business. Cleanliness: never seen it dirty. Friendliness: always cordial. Quality: always great tasting. Cost: appropriate. I suggest visiting and getting a yummy smoothie: I recommend sunrise sunset and add kiwi for extra flavor. Again, great job and kudos to those ladies.

I was new to The Villages and stopped by to get something healthier than interstate fast food…read more I waited and waited but there was no one there to take my order. I was alone in the front room. After a while, I left.
