Thought I would try this place. Ordered a four piece, deep dish pepperoni pizza and a Coney dog for pickup. When you arrive, there is no clear indication of where to park or where to go to get your order, so I pulled in the drive-through. The place was dead, flower beds, etc. overgrown with weeds and the building was deteriorating. I pulled up to the window and they provided me with my order. The first thing I noticed is an extremely powerful smell of disinfectant/Pine-Sol. It was on the pizza box, the bag, the napkins. Yuck! The Coney dog was some cheap wiener with a little bit of chili on it and definitely was not Coney sauce... Threw it away. I couldn't get over the smell and looked at the pizza and the crust was burnt ....threw it away too. Just say no to this place ....never again. :( read more

The pizza is so good here but the lack of life, ie no radio and or TV for background noise makes it not enjoyable. There was one girl working who sat us, got us beers and made our pizza which was delicious. We got the 8 corner pizza and it's worth all the calories. Another guy eventually came in but just no noise, please pur music on. I'm not saying install a sound system but please do something. I was almost about to turn my Amazon music on from my phone. I have been driving by this place every day on my way to work, so I finally decided to pop on and check.it out. From the outside it looks like a converted gas station, but don't let that fool you; it is a converted gas station. As soon as I walked in, it was an immediate throwback to 1989 in the best way possible, if you're look for fine dining haute-cuisine this isn't for you. But if your looking for something that evokes the feeling you got from going to a family diner or pizza hut with the family, this is 300% it. From the plastic picnic tables, to the table in the corner covered in one of the staff members homework, it is definitely a goofy little family restaurant. The service was extremely fast and polite, and despite the fact that it was only a 3 man crew for a lunch rush, they did everything in their power to get my food out fast and hot. I have to admit the cashier sprinting back and forth like a madman was pretty funny. But he was clearly determined. I had 2 Coney dogs and personal pan pizza, and everything was great. I was looking for an ice cream spot near me, and the pictures of the pizza here caught my attention - and the positive reviews. So when dinner time arrived, we got in the car and headed out. First of all, this is a creative use of an old gas station / convenience store. You can certainly tell that's what it used to be. With folding chairs and tables this is 100% a family owned establishment that's working to build a name for themselves - and they are doing a great job of it. As mentioned, the pictures of pizza had caught my eye. We don't normally get deep-dish, but I had to try it. While our meal did not look like the ones in the pictures, it was quite tasty. The crust was not doughy or heavy, but was light and fluffy. We found it to be very flavorful, though we will try the hand-tossed crust next time. We happened to catch them on their busiest night ever, according to the servers Apparently they had been featured on a publication in The Villages recently, so awareness for them had grown. Despite being busier than ever, the staff was still energetic, upbeat and friendly. Quite frankly, their energy and positivity are what made our visit so enjoyable. Of course, we had to have desert. They offer shaved ice, fruit smoothies and Hershey's Ice Cream. We each had waffle cones with 2 scoops of ice cream. The portions are generous, and the ice cream was fantastic! Not only was the food tasty and the staff friendly, but the prices are very reasonable! A pie of 4 squares of pizza, two sodas, and two 2-scoop cones came to less than $40 - excellent value for the money! If Icy King can continue to offer this combination, they will have even more busy nights ahead of them! I can certainly say that we are already talking about our return visit. This ice cream place sits at a closed Chevron station. The gas signage still entices drivers. The owners have done a good job transforming this into a fun ice cream place. Prices are more than perfect. No silly add a tip at check out. There is a fee for using a credit card. Our frozen treats came with generous portions. Really, my only nit was the teenage employees using their headset radios to laugh and carry on while we ate. It didn't bother me, but I did notice it. Deep dish meat lovers lived up to the hype! Called ahead in-route and pizza was hot and ready right after I arrived within about 20 minutes. Asked difference between the 4 corners and 8 corners deep dish, and it's just a size difference. I got the 8 corners ($28) but I only ate 2 pieces and husband had 2, and that was filling... so we have 4 pieces leftover for tomorrow. They do not skimp on the toppings! Didn't order anything but the pizza bc this is what they're known for, based on previous reviews, but menu has lots more food options and they also have smoothies and ice cream. They offer fresh sandwich wraps, flatbreads, coffee, Hershey's ice cream, smoothies & more at a great price! I tried the chicken pesto flatbread and the cappuccino crunch ice cream. Both were so good! I also tried a latte made with fresh ground coffee! The flavor was delicious! The owners are so friendly and have really made this a great atmosphere. Located in a converted gas station. Inside seating consisted of folding chairs & tables, but with nice cloth table cloths & napkins (?) First the good: Very nice selection of ice creams! The not so good: coney dogs very mediocre. Hot dogs were NOT natural casing dogs and came off a " roller" heater; buns NOT steamed, but were from a toaster oven (microwave?); coney sauce WAS decent. Certainly not up to Detroit type of coneys (Lafayette or American). French fries were from frozen and just heated in a toaster oven, not fried. Tried a slice of their "Detroit style" pizza. Square slice, deep crust, cheese to edges, but sauce was between crust & cheese, rather than on top (which is how its done in the D). Overall, slice was just OK. read more

Absolutely as good as so many have reported!! We had 2 four corner pizzas. We had Hawaiian and the meat lovers. Of the two, we definitely preferred the meat lovers, but very much enjoyed both. The cheese and crust would be amazing no matter if you add toppings or not. The service was highly attentive and kind. Don't forget to save room for ice cream. They sell Hershey's ice cream, and if you've had that brand before you know it is fantastic! Icy king is definitely in our top 2 pizza choices and by far a great thicker pizza and crust!!
