Sadly everything was false. The beef was one of the worst I've ever had...any mom and pop hood spot could match or beat it. The polish was long and skinny and unremarkable as well. I ordered butter garlic fries that tasted exactly like regular fries...which was also a first. I know they were not regular fries because those came with my polish and were even worse. This place is jokingly slow...they messed my order up as I should have had another Italian beef and the staff was pretty unprofessional as they got super heated over the cashier not helping the cooks...it was bad. This place is bad...almost anyplace else is better...hell McDonald's is better.

As soon as I gave my order I knew the food was going to be excellent. The politeness, hospitality, and attention to detail really make this place stick out. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo. I dined in the restaurant. All I have to say is......AMAZING! This was one of if not the BEST Burger I've ever had in my life. This place is truly an example of what a "Burger joint" should be. Think of it, fresh ingredients and everything made to order right in front of you. I'm going back next week, and I'm telling all my friends about this hidden gem! Outstanding experience! SB

If you name your establishment Retro Burger, you probably need to make sure you're dealing out some…read moretasty burgers. Good news because the owner of this place did his due diligence. This carryout-only shop on Cicero Ave in Crestwood has been open for a number of years, and yet I've never managed to stop in?!? What's really strange is that I happen to be a guy who LOVES a good burger.. like, it's one of my favorite foods. Anyway, I stopped in on my way home from work recently, and it was well worth the trip. I'm guessing the owner helped me during my visit, as he was the only one working. As mentioned, Retro Burger is a small, but very clean space with an extremely limited menu. That speaks to me. Pick a handful of things you're going to serve folks and then skillfully execute them. My burger choices were either "Hamburger" or "Cheeseburger". Now both of these options feature a 1/2 pound of beef, and we're not talking about pre-made, pre-formed or frozen burger patties. This gentleman opened the cooler, took out a tube of fresh ground beef, cut off a 1/2 pound, slapped it on the flat top and gave it a press. I knew this was gonna be special. The brioche bun is steamed prior to a quick trip to the griddle. The grilled onions were dropped in the deep fryer for a minute and then plopped on the griddle next to the burger patty. The bacon came next and it was crispy. Gave the burger a nice crunch without being overwhelming. The lettuce and tomatoes are fresh... you're probably picking up the vibe by now. This cheeseburger was no joke. Very tasty, and made with care. The rest of the menu consists of a hot dog, a polish sausage and maybe one other thing, but the reason to stop in to Retro Burger is for the burgers! The cheese fries were fine, but nothing to write home about. The price point is higher because the quality is there and you can taste it. There are 3 or 4 other places within 5 miles of this place if you're looking for a $5 Big Baby Double Cheeseburger, but I would strongly encourage you to spend a few extra dollars and get yourself a serious sandwich. I'll be back.

Peace and love, everyone!!…read more It's been a long minute since I left a review, so I'm happy to talk about a new food place! My wife and I finally ordered from Paisans Pizza in Oak Lawn, something we've been wanting to do for a long minute. As I have been working out and watching how much I eat since December, I very much look forward to having a 'big back day', as my daughter says! So the online ordering process was very easy. I ordered a medium cheese pizza, a medium sausage pizza, the Southwestern egg rolls, and finally some garlic parmesan wings. When I went to pick up the food, it took a few minutes to find a parking space as there are no spaces for pick-up orders. But when I went in there, nice ambiance with the planes, the cars, and the camper, which is where I had to pick up my order from. The place was jumping (I was there about 6pm on Saturday), and it seemed like a nice overall vibe. Ok so I pick up my order and get back to the crib! First, the pizza: both pizzas were really good. Nice amount of cheese, nice amount of sausage, for both, nice amount of sauce. Now the pizza was good, let me be clear, but on the box it says the 'best pizza in the world'. So my honest opinion is that is it better than all the other pizza places in the area (Domino's, Nonna's, etc)? YES...easily! Is Paisans better than Beggars Pizza? I say yes, my wife says no. Either way, we both agree that they have some good pizza! The garlic parmesan wings lived up to the hype. Crispy wings, nice amount of seasoning, not overpowering. As for the Southwestern egg rolls, this was the only thing I ordered where I was like 'meh'. The shell wasn't really crispy, I think it was a bit bland, and the sauce cup had opened up and spilled in its takeout box. Put it this way...Chili's Southwestern egg rolls are much better, by comparison, in terms of flavor. All in all, this was not a bad eating experience. The food was good all around, and for me, only the egg rolls could have been better. Also, the food was a little on the expensive side....so that is something to keep in mind also. So, does this mean we'll be back? Absolutely! If I could give them zero stars, I would!…read more The food is decent, but the service is absolutely terrible. I placed a catering order for my job for over 100 people, and let me tell you, it was not cheap! First, the food arrived late. On top of that, they failed to provide silverware, plates, napkins, and even the buns that were supposed to come with the order. We ordered brisket, smoked chicken (which was supposed to be cut up but arrived whole), macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and cornbread. To make matters worse, everything arrived cold, as if it had been sitting out for hours. Then, when I reviewed my receipt, I noticed an additional charge of $78. I called to ask about it and was told that they charge a 3% fee on all orders, even when paying by check. My question is: Why aren't customers informed about this fee upfront? When I expressed my concern, the only response I received was an apology. No explanation, no effort to make things right, and no real concern for the inconvenience. This was my second year using their catering services, and unfortunately, the experience this year was absolutely awful. After spending that kind of money to feed over 100 people, I expected much better service, accurate fulfillment of my order, and hot food delivered on time. Needless to say, we will NEVER be ordering from them again. I would strongly encourage anyone considering their catering services to think twice before placing an order.
