When the store is crowded and the drive thru builds up, you have to wait in the drive thru to park. On the inside, fries and drinks spilled. Crumbs everywhere, on tables, seats, and the floor. Let me start by saying that I've never given a one star review before. I feel like it's mean, and even petty, to a degree. But Jesus, this may be the worst run establishment I've literally ever seen in my life. Here's what sucks the worst: I go here all the time. See, I like McDonald's caramel iced coffee, and this place is real close to my job, so I keep going and having to hope something will be different. It never is. I'll start with the obvious. They're incompetent, and mess your order up a lot. I get it, it's a McDonald's. They're not brain surgeons back there, but it's also a character issue. One time I had a woman hand me a bag and a drink and say "#5 with a diet Coke right?" and I said, "No, regular Coke." and she said "That's what I meant to say, my bad. Regular Coke." and then looked me straight in the face and handed me a diet Coke. That's not a mistake. That's just purposefully being a bad employee. Sometimes I go and they're just inexplicably closed. One time I showed up and someone was at the drive thru speaker just to tell everyone they're closed because nobody else showed up for their shift and she was the only one there. What? Last thing I'll say is that they have no concept of how to talk to people. They have never once said "Thank you" or "Have a nice day" or even acknowledge me when I say those things. They seriously just hand me my food, I say "thank you", or "have a good one" and they close the window. Recently I asked for my regular caramel iced coffee, and the girl on the speaker said "No." I was like, ".. Any reason why I'm not allowed to get a coffee?" and she said "Cuz we ain't got it. Whenever I come after hours, the drive thru line is very long and takes a while to order and get your food. Discriminates, Unlawful, Disgrace! Juwan has been battling cancer since 2016. He is currently dealing with his 3rd relapse but he has done everything in his power to live life to the fullest. As if fighting cancer wasn't enough, Juwan juggles school, work, tutoring, band and various community service projects. In the past, Juwan has had issues with a manager named Tia M. scheduling him on his chemotherapy days despite being told he couldn't work. Documentation was submitted that remedied that however she began to cut his hours stating that she didn't want to work with him. Just as he was preparing to file a formal complaint, COVID-19 hit. Recently, Juwan returned to work and was pleasantly surprised to have a new store manager. Unfortunately, Tia was still the one responsible for creating the schedule. This week Juwan was again scheduled for a Wednesday despite the store being told that he sees his oncologist on that day. When he attempted to return to work yesterday, he was told that he was in trouble and needed an additional doctor's note before he would be allowed to work. Almost immediately his team at CHOP provided documentation AGAIN and the new store manager was notified that this was an ongoing issue with the scheduling manager. Juwan was allowed to work and was assured that this wouldn't happen again. Today, Juwan reported to work and began his shift. He worked for hours without having any issues. Around mid-day, Tia reports to work and immediately began to single Juwan out. Everything came to a head when she attempted to reprimand him for pulling his mask down and turning his hat out his face. This was done while he was washing dishes and so that he can catch his breath. This is important because Juwan's largest tumor is situated in his chest, right against his lungs and heart. Furthermore, he has lung damage due to the years of chemotherapy and radiation. Juwan explained to the manager why he did this and her response was to write him up. Once she was done writing him up, Juwan stepped outside and called me for advice. I instructed Juwan to go back inside and finish his shift. I further instructed him that we would handle a formal complaint with upper management once he was off. When Juwan returned to work the manager refused to allow him to finish his shift. At the exact same time, I happened to call his phone and heard what she said. I told him to get her full name and when she realized that I was on the phone she then disrespect both him and me. What she didn't know was that I was in the car in my way to pick him up from work. Once I got there she then called the police once I let her know that she was not getting away with treating my son this way. This is when she decided to call the APD (who handled this perfectly). So here is my problem... you can't violate an employees rights. You can't retaliate against an employee for bringing the violation to management. You can't disrespect a hard working employee that shows up for work the day after chemotherapy and not complain. Juwan never uses his cancer as a crutch but he has rights under the law. This is an ongoing issue with several employees and we are boycotting this McDonald's location until we are satisfied that this scheduling manager and McDonalds makes this right. Initially tried to order lunch, which is supposed to start at 10:30 am. At 10:40am (after already waiting almost 10 minutes in the drive through line), I heard the clerk tell the person in the car in front of me that lunch wouldn't start until 11am. At this point someone had pulled in behind me and there are dividers surrounding the drive through, so I wasn't able to pull out of line. Fortunately the person behind me got fed up and left so I was able to back up and LEAVE. This is a terrible setup.
