They are generous in portions and happy to make what you want to-order. Also, this is one of the few chip shops where I am comfortable ordering several different things off the menu and knowing that I'll have a good meal. Even with some big chain's in the area and with other chip shops that are cheaper, this still is on the top on my list when I want a good takeaway. It's always great value and I know I'm going to be more than satisfied with what I get!

This place is a birmingham institution, a revolutionary. The original maverick in the once stale…read moreworld of birmingham fast food. I used to visit this Big John's on the way home from College many moons ago, and although the service is a little shaky, I can't score it less than 5 stars because it is AWESOME! A mixed kebab, with donner meat, delicious chicken tikka, salad, chilli sauce all served in a GIANT NAAN... costs a meagre £3.50! After taking my friends there recently and introducing an out-of-towner to experience it, one of them looked at my kebab and said, "how on earth are you meant to eat that? It's massive!" I agreed, and then showed him. It seems the way you are meant to eat it, is with a smile on your face!

I never fail to be pleasantly surprised when I find a good meal in airports. It can be hit or miss…read morefinding something for every palate, and even more than that, something that won't cost you an arm and a leg that you could have prepared at home for dirt cheap (see: airport pub grub). With that said, when my coworkers and I arrived at the airport after a long day in Birmingham, only to find that our flight was MEGA delayed, we began looking for food in hopes of killing time and lifting our spirits. Giraffe, happily enough, was just the ticket. The menu is surprisingly extensive, and for me the kicker was having more than the "FINE, here you go" one token veggie meal that some restaurants seem to provide so begrudgingly. In fact, all the veggie offerings sounded quite tempting, and were more than just your boring ol' risotto. The food arrived promptly and sure, it's still airport food, so don't expect Michelin Star presentation here. But it's colorful and hot and seems like it didn't come from a bag in the freezer, so there you go! My coworkers and I all agreed in the end that the offerings were pretty solid all around. (3/3 botanical gurus agree!) Service was prompt and friendly. Food was quick and tasty. Atmosphere was about as good as it gets (re: airport). Cost was about what you'd expect: higher than you would normally pay out in your neck of the woods, but low enough that you don't feel positively robbed by the end. So there you have it, folks. If you're finding yourself with a grumbly tummy in the Birmingham airport, I reckon the Giraffe is worth a visit!

Despite not being the best food I have ever eaten, I wasn't under the illusion that It was going to be. The portions are healthy, and by that I mean big.. With the prices as impressive. Situated on Broad Street, a part of me expected Bella's to be somewhat seedy but I was thankfully proven wrong. The service was of great quality, with the sit-in option much more pleasurable that I had initially thought. If looking for a quick bite to eat, preferably Italian, than Bella may well be the place for you.

I got into a really pedantic mood at my most recent visit and started pointing out to the guy serving (and eventually the manager) all the spelling mistakes on the menu. I usually hate those grammar and spelling Nazis but something in the Gatecrasher vodka tore me away from my chips and got me repeating 'salaad' and 'pinapple' quite loudly in their faces. More importantly the food here is great. The selection is also impressive so it's one of those places that will please everyone. Not an expensive place either. I would definitely recommend a visit, maybe pre-cinema (especially when the waiting time in Nando's is beyond ridiculous).

This place is quite hidden from the main stretch down in Selly Oak and even the top end of Selly Oak near Sainsbury's. We only found it because we tend to park the car down Elliott Road. We had a look at the menu which was on the window and because it seemed fairly cheap we decided to give it a try. It is fairly small inside, but we were not bothered by this. The guys that worked in there were very friendly and asked us what our plans were for the evening, which was nice. We did not have to wait too long for our pizzas and we were soon venturing home with them. My pizza was really good and I enjoyed it very much!

As there were a few of us, we ordered 3 large pizzas, a meatfeast, a vegetarian and a bbq chicken. Unlike some of the more recognisable delivery brands, these pizzas were not dripping in grease which instantly gave the toppings more flavour. They were also very generous with the toppings on each of the pizzas, so much so most of mine kept sliding off but that all adds to fun of getting messy eating pizzas! The delivery was really quick too, I'd say it was within 30 minutes which for a Saturday night is really good. My friend orders from them all the time and I will definitely be going over for the next pizza night!
