I love this place. I work fairly nearby & my work has used it for celebratory lunches, goodbye lunches for when staff leave us, all sorts. I've taken my family to eat here too. The staff are young, energetic & enthusiastic. They seem to have internalised that as a new restaurant, they will stand or fall by their customer service. I'll give a for instance: on the Saturday I brought my family to the restaurant, we were seated swiftly & pretty soon ordered. I ordered a beer with my food, and as it happened they were out of the beer I'd ordered - they were expecting a delivery very soon & so I was asked if I wouldn't mind waiting. I was actually perfectly fine with it - the beer was to relieve the chilli pepper taste & I hadn't eaten yet, but Breanna, the girl who'd taken my order, came over & followed up. Having waited a few minutes she apologised to me for keeping me waiting & asked if I'd like a different beer. I chose a cider which was more expensive & she waived the difference. Also deserving an honourable mention was Tyler - she caught my eye when I was waiting for our food to come & rather than just carrying on doing the rounds clearing tables she came over & asked if anything was wrong. Nothing was but I mentioned that we were just waiting for our food & she went to chase it up. It hadn't been 5 minutes but she found out where everything had got to & managed her colleagues getting the food to table as quickly as possible. Really impressed by the helpful, can-do attitude of both of these young women & I hope Nando's recognise their talent & hard work.
Further update - I've just had a Mediterranean salad with an additional chicken breast added, as a takeaway. For takeaway the salad is served in a sealed plastic carton which does a good job of keeping everything in, and the chicken breast is in a cardboard carton shaped much like the sort of carton you see Americans eat take-out Chinese food from. The chicken breast was a little small - maybe they lose mass when cooked, but that looked about half the size of a normal one - but that's no biggie, TBH. I had that just to add a little protein to the salad. This salad is one of the best I have ever had, no lie. It had sundried tomatoes, olives, feta cheese, Mediterranean herbs, olive oil, and a good quantity of fresh crispy leaves. When I looked at the price I was a little suspicious - £8.95 in total. I thought that looked a little steep for a salad, but no, having eaten it I would say that was exactly right. I got no quibbles about this. Top restaurant, top food, top staff. Love it. read more
