It's fast food!! I have never had an issue with this McDonald's. The staff is always pleasant. My orders have been correct. I have had to wait to wait on occasion but, hey, it happens. I'm going to bet most of these negative reviews are from people who showed up with attitude & expected to be fawned over in return. I truly feel terrible for the employees who regularly have to deal with rude customers who expect white glove service at MCDONALD'S. The server couldn't speak English, this is in the middle of Guilford CT. I don't know Spanish. Had to physically get out of my vehicle and walk up to the window-even though it was well past 6am and they were technically open,the doors were locked-and give my order ingredient by ingredient. After about 5 minutes and finally thinking I had gotten the order all set... I web back to my car to wait. They gestured to me and I had to walk back to the door to get my order and it was all wrong...and the top of my iced coffee wasn't on, so I got it coffee on my shirt. Service was awful. It took me ages for someone to serve me and everything was wrong as well. My brother ordered a happy meal with a frozen drink and he got a happy meal with NO drink then they proceed to make us pay 2 dollars extra for the drink when it should have been only 50 cents extra. I was in this area around 344pm on February 7, 2023 the reason the 2 stars was because the order take was good and the order was right however they lost points with me by all of the employees are running cash register; drive thru handing the food and preparing the food touching my coffee lids and handling the fries. The one star only exists because my order was actually correct, otherwise this was a visit that will make me go elsewhere for a quick meal. I stood in line behind 3 other customers and without fail 2 of the 3 were talked to like they were toddlers who were getting a time out. One of the customers, an elderly gentleman had ordered food on the app and evidently there was an error. When he asked for clarification, politely I might add, he was yelled at by the heavy accented woman at the register for about 20 seconds before she had the manager come over and berate him some more. Then they began to talk about him between themselves in Spanish while gesturing to him. Subtle. The next woman also had the audacity to have an app question, that began round 2 of embarrass the customer. The other person simply left before he got to the register. When I got up there the woman, still feeling winded from her elderly person verbal beatdown, simply asked "what you need". I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a coffee and left 8 minutes later warning others on the way in to be prepared for the crappy attitudes they were about to encounter. read more

Clean location but SUPER rude MANAGEMENT. I was eye rolled and given attitude for not knowing sweet tea was more expensive than a soft drink at this location. (The location near my home has sweet tea next to our self serve soft beverage area, so this has never been an issue) Sad thing was, the employee was sweet and the manager basically yelled at me and made it seem like I was "trying to pull a fast one on him"......over 70 cents. Whenever I go to this McDonald's I consider myself very lucky if they get the order correct. For example (one of many).....yesterday I went there for an Egg McMuffin with sausage, without cheese or butter to go. The lady tells me the price. I pay. I had the common sense to check the bag once I got into my car - and of course, there was NO EGG. When I go back in - the lady was rude, and told me that I would have to pay for the egg. I did. I wasnt expecting anything for free - but it was HER mistake, not mine. By the way - the muffin was burnt. Why would you even put a burnt muffin out for a customer in the first place. Place has been recently renovated, and if it represents the future of McDonald's, the corporation is in trouble. Now order is taken and one then has to wait at an adjacent counter for pickup. Numbers are employed, so one to consult his receipt to see if his number is the one that corresponds to the number posted on an electronic board. If it is, the order is ready. Unfortunately, this process takes an inordinate amount of time. I've NEVER had to wait so long for an order at a McDonald's as I did this evening at this store. This place is highway robbery, literally. A Big Mac meal was about $8.00+ if I remember correctly, which I am 98% sure it was over $8. The girl who served me was the most frustrating person to deal with ever. I asked for a caramel sundae and she mumbled something and walked in slow motion over to her manager. When I say slow motion, I mean it was like she was purposely trying to walk as slow as possible. She talked to him for about a minute and walked even SLOWER back to the register. I got a double hamburger that was swimming in a pool of grease when I got it. Gross. At least the fries were fresh. I love going to this McDonalds because they consistently give me something to write about. Today I ordered a regular medium coffee, $1.06. I gave the lady 3 quarters, 1 dime, 3 nickles and 6 pennies. Now those with a second grade education can figure out these coins add up to $1.06. Not the lady at the first window though. This McDonalds is 98% of the time very clean but some people are just very disgusting and always leave the trash on the ground and don't even get me started wit the bathroom, one day I was gonna use the bathroom and I see that people really treat the bathroom like it's their own which I told about the big mess in there which they automatically cleaned it, they really care about their cleanliness of the restaurant and there's also and nice stuff which sometimes they gave people free and it's very rarely tho so don't get your hopes up. Somehow these folks were able to screw up one of the largest and most successful fast food concepts in the world. Cold food, deathly slow service, I ordered 6 items, 3 never showed, and the replacement make was wrong. I never witnessed so much confusion with nobody in the place. I ordered food on 06/25/21 at 11:39pm. The lady ruined my entire order. She forgot the bbq/Buffalo sauce for my nuggets. The fries were super old and stale. I asked for a caramel frappe and she thought I said I wanted a dr. Pepper??? Dr Pepper sounds nothing like caramel frappe. She definitely wasn't listening to anything I said. I'll have a salad rather than fries with that burger. OK, I love their fries- they are a fast food standard as far as I'm concerned- but salads are healthier, right? McDonald's rich portion of a garden salad is on their dollar menu, so order this in lieu of a meal deal and you actually save money! How about that!! They have a choice of dressings- Newman's dressings, too. The salad has good greens in it, carrots, cucumbers, some onions. One could pay five dollars for this kind of salad at a restaurant. I've been eating at this Mcdonalds for years. The expectation from Mcdonalds is that I can get quick and consistent meals on the go, so that I can stay with the busy lifestyle. However, with recent visits, it has become apparent that this is no longer the case. Just today, I was forced to wait about 15 minutes in the drive through for the wrong food order: One drink was not "super-sized"; the special grill quarter-pounder meal was half correct (with no onions); the normal quarter-pounder meal had no sauce or cheese; and the fries were half-full (for paying extra for super-size) and had no salt. The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars is that it's McDonald's. I'll admit, I stop at fast food when I'm on long road trips, and this is the best McDonald's I've been to. The drive-through has two order takers and the food comes out fresh. Compared to other McDonalds in CT this one is great. They were very accommodating when I needed whole milk for our baby, and the manager came over without asking and said they could get it from the latte machine for me. It's close to the highway and if there's a lot of traffic (in CT there always is) you can cut off some of 95 by getting off a couple of exits early for the road it's on. Unbelievable. Today we went to this McDonalds for their Fillet of Fish special which is advertised at $3.33 (you get a fillet sandwich and a fry). I ordered that plus one medium drink and another Fillet sandwich. The woman behind the counter asked for $10.01 which made no sense so I asked her to check again and she ordered it another way and it came to $9.68. That still made no sense to me because at $3.33 for a filet and fries the order can't cost nearly 3 times the amount. I gave it one final try and ordered 2 of their specials at 3.33 even though I didn't want the fry plus a soda and it came to 10.71. The worst part was the woman, who only partially spoke English, didn't comprehend what was wrong with this scenario. Finally we just walked out. Truly unbelievable. read more
