I have had a gas leak from my kitchen island since I moved in late last year. After 6 months and half a dozen different service technicians in my home the leak was still there... Robert was called in to fix a connection between the dishwasher and disposal that was leaking and flooding the kitchen. The builder's installers had jury-rigged a system using hose that was not correct and connecting it in a way that was doomed to failure. Since we live out in the country, there was no way to easily acquire a manufacturers replacement part without a long delay, Robert made a connection with pieces he had available. 3 hours = $2500.00!!! We had a slab leak on Memorial Day. The reputable plumbers (Mr. Bills and Layland) couldn't get to the job for 5 days. We did 10 hours of work to locate the leak, tear out the carpet, open the sheet rock, and shut down the water. He came at 12 noon - tried to figure out what to do for an hour, as he was very confused, proposing to run a line into our attic and back down. During that hour, I drove to the original contractor's house and asked him how the original plumbing was done. He said that loops of copper came from the slab to the next fixture. The plumber opened more sheet rock, and used a magnet probe to prove that the leak went to the next fixture (the shower 6 feet away). He did a bypass, including a corner, and the plumbing was fixed. We repaired the walls. He gave no estimate prior to the work. Then, covered with Satanic pagan tattoos, he said, "I am a Christian, and I can't stop smoking." I called Mcdade for a quote on Saturday and got a callback from them. The agreement on the phone was that they will come Tuesday from 12 to 1 (which I thought was weird) Tuesday comes and another company said they could come soon so I said sure. At 9:29 I called Mcdade and said don't come out because another company is coming. He basically hung up on me. At 10 he shows up and was explained to once again that 1. We had called at 9:29 with instructions not to come at noon. (He lies and says nope,,,10 o clock.. liar 2. He had a bad attitude at my wife 3. We will never use the boys services again. Tried to con me by overpricing parts. He wanted 300.00 for a 50.00 electric switch. Not a trustworthy individual. I was suspicious when I heard the price for a simple water heater replacement. My AHS home warranty company alerted me to his corrupt business practices when I began checking on the reason he wanted to charge me above and beyond normal covered parts.. Robert McDade was Refered to me through American Homeshield to replace my water heater. We went without hot water for a week waiting on him to eventually show up. After telling me he needed a large amount of extra money to install my water heater that was under warranty by A.H.S. I called American Homeshield to enquire and they apologized to me as they found he was actually OVER charging me $300.00 for a electrical switch worth $50.00 and a 3 foot piece of hose worth 20.00 dollars he was charging me over 180.00 for.
