My shower drain was badly backed up, there was debris backing up into the bath tub, I was shocked that the issue progressed to where it did. The house is only 30 years old, but I needed a diagnosis, estimate and definitely a repair, it was gross. Curly was terrific on the phone, he showed up with one of his guys, ends up I had discharge from the washer line that was connected to it. Dirt and waste can back up if that happens. It was a mess, but they ended up fixing the shared branch drain, it was all clogged and messed up. Big Blade is the real deal, they really care about the customer, and didn't even ask for any feedback or reviews. They just do the job they are skilled at, with humility and honesty, something I look for when hiring a contractor of any kind. Great work! read more

We had a slab leak and I called 5 plumbing companies before calling Big Blade. Two said they were busy, one said no thank you, and I'm still waiting for two to call me back. Big Blade sent Sam, Ryan, Colton and Rick our within 20 minutes of my call. They had the leak located and repaired within the next 4-5 hours. Then Sam came back and after I repaired the wall behind the toilet and set the toilet the next day! But wait it doesn't stop there.... the sink in the bathroom got clogged and the water wouldn't shut off, so Sam came back again and showed me what happened. I was already to replace the faucet and Sam recommended that I replace the old shutoff valves and the supply lines also. He said he could do it for a little bit more money that at the Rome I couldn't do since I just paid for the other repairs. Sam explained to me what to do, he told me what I needed, and he gave me his personal number to call if I needed assistance. If that is not going above and beyond the call of duty what is. I live in a 1930's home, and just had them do some serious sewer line work. Although the work was not started when scheduled, they did get it finished before my deadline. I can't say enough good things about Master Plumber John. He and his crew (from 2 to 5 guys at one time during the day) did a good job, were extremely polite and asked it there was anything else they needed to do before leaving. John explained what he thought I needed to solve my problem and did not do any extra work that I did not require. I have been using them for about 2 years, and will continue to do so. read more

The first time I used them, was for a disposal replacement. The installation went okay, but within a few days, my dishwasher started backing up into the sink. I thought it was a different problem, but after hiring an appliance repair company, i found out that Big Blade had not taken the cap off the disposal line and it was causing the problem!! They cost me $100 and when I called them about it, their response basically 'too bad'..... So, a year later, I thought I would give them another chance. I had a broken faucet outside. They said they had to cut a hole in my Sheetrock to access it. Well the hole they cut was 20" from the corner. The faucet was 14" from the corner..... I am a 60 year old woman and I could figure that out.. because they could not access it that way, they then chipped out the brick. The faucet was fixed, but they left wet concrete on my patio that dried and now I cannot get it off. When I asked about fixing the sheetrock hole, their response was to get a sheetrock guy to fix it..... there's another couple hundred I will have to pay because of their error. I'll never use them again. Their plumbers take no pride in their work and obviously neither does the owner. A reputable company would have done something to make their errors right with me. read more

I had a toilet intermittently overflowing in our downstairs bathroom. I had purchased a new toilet and was going to replace the malfunctioning one anyhow until the shutoff valve wouldn't close. I called Curly's on July 4th and 30 minutes later I had Bob and Joe at my house. They replaced the valve, snaked the septic line and mounted my new toilet. They would have been done sooner but their snake slung nasty septic water around in my bathroom and they remained behind to clean it up. I am not sure if this is the correct Curleys.(address on invoice differs) . Even tho my issue required about 20 feet of new pipe in the slab, the price was fair,( relatively speaking that is) (4,200). They responded quickly and stayed two days until the job was complete. The only complaint was a poorly poured concrete, which they came quickly to fix when it was brought to their attention. Its how you handle the problems that defines a company. We had a plumbing leak. Was stressed over locating a good plumber who would not charge an outrageous amount. Found Curly's through an internet search. Reviews through Yelp and Angie's List were good. Called and talked to Curly. He sent someone out that night. They were there within about an hour. Everyone was REALLY nice and polite. Really seemed to care about my problem. The plumber took the time to thoroughly explain the problem and tell us what they would do to repair it. They offered to fix it that night or to come back the next morning to save us money. We opted to save money. They worked hard and repaired our problem. They were finished in less time than they orignally estimated AND that included having to make a run to get some unexpected supplies. I am really happy to have found them. I feel very comfortable saying that I have found my plumber for life. **As mentioned in a review by another customer, the address on my invoice was different as well but I know that this is the correct Curly's because the phone number is the one that I called and it is the same one on the invoice. read more

If I could give the 0 stars I would. They are dishonest and told me that I had a break in my line near the kitchen sink and that it would cost $1000s of dollars to repair and that I needed to have the work done ASAP because it was more than likely causing foundations issues. I asked if they could run a camera through to show me exactly where the break was. This is when I started getting suspicious of them. They told me that they couldn't run a camera through because it would get "hung up" where the break was and they would risk losing a $4000 camera in my line. All sorts of red flags starting to go off for me as this wasn't my first experience with plumbing issues. They claimed to have cleaned out the line as best they could but they were pulling back mud and roots due to the broken line in several places. Paid them over $300 for their "services" and had a very sick feeling when they left due to the fact that I paid them basically to do nothing but at that point didn't want a fight and just wanted them out of my house. Called another plumber for a 2nd opinion who had no problems running a camera through my line. DID NOT have a broken line but a clog that they were able to locate and clean out. Paid them $189 and my plumbing has been working perfect ever since. Curly's Big Blade was definitely trying to use scare tactics to get me to spend thousands of dollars with them and tear up the tile in my kitchen which would have been an additional cost to repair from a tile company. So glad I trusted my instincts on this one and only lost $300 on the deal instead of thousands. Long story short, I absolutely do not recommend them at all. read more

Had a hot water line leak in my slab at my house in Granbury . Spent half the day trying to get someone out to look at the problem and give me a quote to repair. Curly's was one of only two who would come out, and the other would not do the leak detection themselves , but gave me a number for a referral . Frank and Juan from Curly's made it out and confirmed the leak and gave me a quote to repair. The price was fair and I had them out the next day to perform the work . Another problem was found during the work and corrected for only a minimal charge. They were professional , courteous , and honest throughout the process. Our kitchen sink suddenly was backing up and slowly draining overnight. This happens every 18 months or so, apparently due to the way some of the pipes in the slab are angled. I called Curly's (who I had not used before) and they sent someone right out. They were here in less than 20 minutes! Cody and JJ were polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. Cody listened to the history of the issue, did his own checkout, and went right to work. It turned out there were stoppages in 2 or 3 places. He was thorough and got them all. He made double-sure that everything was flowing properly. They cleaned up after themselves very nicely. My wife and I were impressed. Best plumbing repair service we have ever experienced. We called Curly's for the first time earlier today for a clogged toilet and bath drain. From the time we called to job completion was 90 minutes. Cody and Aaron were respectful, courteous, and professional. They diagnosed the problem immediately, explained it to us, and had it cleared within a few minutes. The service call price was very fair and they even cleaned up the bath area. Curly's is our new contractor for plumbing issues. Other service companies should take a lesson from these guys. Definitely call them if you need quality professionals. read more

Our water heater went out yesterday morning (Saturday) and water was flowing all over the garage floor. We've used Curly's Big Blade before for other plumbing needs and have always had good results so we didn't think twice about who to call for this problem. As usual, Curly's did not disappoint. He quoted a ballpark price over the phone and said it could vary a bit if modifications had to be made to meet current code requirements. The plumber, Jaye, was at our house in about an hour and began his work. The install looks great, Jaye cleaned up the work site when he was done and the price was in the range I was quoted. We are very happy with the service we received from Curly's and they'll be the only plumber we call for future needs. read more

We have gotten to where we used Big Blade for our rental house plumbing needs. They have always been punctual and are a little higher, but we've been willing to sacrifice that for dependability. Recently I had them out at a rental that had a leaky shower, backup in a sink and the washer leaked according to my tenant. After the guys came and fixed it, I was charged $420. Initially I thought quite a bit of work had been done. I called about it the next week and my tenant told me they replaced the shower cartridge, ran a snake down a sink and installed two water hoses on the washing machine. The repairman told me the sink was draining properly. My question to Big Blade was, do you think $420 was a little high for replacing a shower cartridge, snaking a sink that wasn't backed up and installing two water hoses on a washing machine that leaked? BTW, it still leaks.... They assured me that $420 was actually a discounted price. My tenant said that the repairman actually spent over an hour getting the cartridge at Lowe's which is 10 minutes away and probably spent way less than an hour actually 'fixing' the issues. I will NEVER use them again and will share my experience with anyone who asks. read more

RUN. How this business has 4.5 stars is beyond me. Our house is sitting without flooring and baseboards in two rooms because of the negligence of this company and has been since September. They were called out initially to fix a backed up toilet. Instead of using a camera to search the line, they went in blind and ended up shattering one of our toilets. They replaced the toilet and assured us the clog was taken care of. Great! NO! A week later, I went to take a shower and the water started backing up from underneath the toilets in both bathrooms. I immediately turned the shower off but not in enough time to save our bedroom and hallway from flooding. We called them out again. Once they came out, we asked THREE times if they would camera the lines this time. Again, they didn't bring a camera out with them and would not camera the line. Instead, they tried blindly clearing the clog once more in what would lead to another failed attempt. We paid another plumber to come camera the lines the next day and he found the clog clear as day. We called Curly's back and told them that the clog was still there per the camera footage. They returned, with the camera this time, and they too saw the clog...FINALLY. They apologized several times, taking fault for everything and we were assured by the lead technician that 'Curly's would be taking care of everything.' Meaning the cleaning of the flooding, the flooring that had to be ripped up, the clog, and the baseboards and siding that had to be removed. At first, they were very apologetic and in a hurry to fix their mistake. They sent out Dry Force to check for mold, standing water, and to provide clean up services. Dry Force ripped up flooring and baseboards in our bedroom and hallway, and they also drilled giant holes underneath our bathroom cabinets to dry out the water. Wonderful! Things were being set right. Well, that ended abruptly. When Dry Force was complete and the repairs for the home needed to be done...the owner of Curly's entire "this was our mistake" attitude changed. As we expected, they sent our their insurance company's inspector to assess damages. Curly's owner assured us that they were at fault and that everything should be taken care of. He said that "he made it clear to the insurance agent that this was their mistake." Well, low and behold, the insurance company sends us a letter stating that Curly's Big Blade is claiming no fault and that they will NOT be paying for damages caused by the flooding because WE refused camera service! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! We had to pay a separate company to come camera the line because they never brought a camera with them, and we asked three separate times for the line to be scoped!!!!! As I stated at the beginning, RUN! Sadly, this company (especially the owner) is made up of dishonest people who will lie to an insurance company to skate out of doing what's right. We are in the process of getting a lawsuit filed in small claims court because of this company. What a shame. read more
