McCoy's - Great place to eat and pass the time after coming back from the field. - Buffets Near Me - Fort McCoy, Wisconsin

It's a a surprisingly nice place, clean and spacious. The food and drinks are decent( though the buffalo chicken sandwich is trash) decent beers on tap. But the desperately need to hire more staff, the service is soooo slow, as even on a Monday night the staff cannot handle the crowd, as take as it is. read more

After spending some time on Fort McCoy for about a month, I became well accustomed with the local hotspot that is McCoy's. The restaurant turned out to be a nice getaway from the strenuous work of military life. To start things off, the restaurant is just alright. I was able to tried most meals including the pizza, hamburgers, and chicken tenders but none of the meals had me thinking that the food was the focal point of the place. Really, McCoy's is just a great hangout spot that also happens to serve food. The whole place was pretty busy most nights we went and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves as there is an amazing ambiance. The staff was also incredibly kind every time I went and must be working hard as the restaurant is well maintained. All in all, McCoy's is a wonderful place to try out if you are ever on base and looking to meet with others from all over the country. read more

This place is super neat lots is flare for being on an Army base. They have a 10 lane bowling alley, 4 pool tables, a dance floor, and what looks like a full bar in the middle of everything. They have a game room full of X boxes and PS3. Darts if that's your thing. For lunch they have a pizza and more buffet. Today I decided to try their boneless wings. Being the only bar on base, it's a great choice. :) Offers a variety of things to do including bowling.. Thursday's are $1 bowl nights. Don't miss Happy Hour Tues-Thurs 4-6 which includes half off pitchers of beer! They've got a nice craft beer selection and we got a pitcher of a craft brew porter for $8! Love it. Food selection is kinda bowling alley style typical and a little pricey, but the chicken tenders are reeeeally good. read more

For this place to have had over a thousand soldiers estimating come through the doors after just getting out of the field and having the line to get food pretty much out the door they did a dang good job. This is only useful to you if you are in the Army Reserve and you are stuck at Ft. McCoy for training. For you 'civilians', just be glad you don't have to go to this barren wasteland. McCoy's is like an oasis in the middle of a horrible desert. I'm actually quite surprised how nice it is in there. There is a bowling alley, pizza buffett, and 3 HUGE screen television that have CNN, ESPN, and some random channel always on. Theres a bar too, where ppl shouldn't get drunk, but do many times. The prices are good too, but coming from san jose / san diego, it's really hard to gauge prices. read more

Food's terrible here. But there aren't a lot of choices on Fort McCoy. I went mostly for the Wednesday night cook your own steak night, which I guess they only do during the Summer. The rest of the food, the lunch buffet, the pizza are vicious on my taste buds. I just don't get any of the other food. read more

This is as good as it gets if you don't have a car and need something to do at Ft. McCoy. The wings are pretty good and there is a jukebox for music. Something to do to get out of Building 51. Oh yeah, they serve wine but I don't recommend trying it. Have a beer or a mixed drink. read more

Not worth the hour wait in line and the hour wait to get the food. Boneless wings were just ok. I have had better cheese burgers.

I ate there. As the previous reviewer indicated, it is a place you go to, because you are stuck here at Ft. McCoy. It happened to be within relative walking distance of my billeting, and it was a change of pace from the Dining Facility. I had the Quesadilla at the Mexican themed restaurant. It was really large. They used really big tortillas. It was more expensive than it was worth. I say it favorably compared with a corporate fast food chain, but not with a real Mexican restaurant. If you don't have a vehicle here, you are stuck. You might find yourself going there often. I don't drink. They need more games and things for the soldiers to do. Fort Bragg has a similar facility, that is much nicer, and has more things to do. It is a new and modern facility on an old base, so I am glad it is here. Just kind of average to me. read more

Cheap beer, bowling, wings, pizza all available here, it is all of 10 minutes walk from building 51 but don't try this walk in the winter, take the shuttle. They had grill your own steak night Thursday nights in the summer but if you have no car and missed the DFAC this is the only place to go. If you have have no car and want a beer, this is it too. So drink up, and listen to karaoke from your fellow friends and classmates. read more

Nice little spot with quite a bit to do (ironically only thing to do on Fort McCoy). There are numerous TVs, free movies to rent, free Wifi, nice bar and a small bowling alley attached. The food is decent, but definitely the amenities that make this place. read more

Chicken wings about $1.50 a piece. Buffet (gross) $10. For guests or employees of Fort McCoy, there are only two places to eat.. McCoy's Club, and the PX. Supply/Demand they can raises prices pretty easily. Check out the chairs too, stained with food or sauces or who knows what. read more

def was fun place during our training-with unit buddies and higher ups. also seeing people that went to same AIT training, similar to reunion. also seeing colonels in uniform drinking and soldier in army pt dancing was priceless. read more
