I find the female owner to be rude and the prices to be high. I refuse to shop there and tell…read morepeople not to shop there. I will drive down to Home Depot whenever I need something. We are told to shop local, yet she does not seem to care about the community.

Weird occurrence at the back counter. I'm a gun advocate and believe in the right to carry. However…read morethe weirdest thing happened, a guy in tactical pants with a mesh belt simulator to what law enforcement might wear a sleeved Glock hung front the belt along with cell phone, walkie talkie and maybe a knife or case cutter loaded up like a Batman utility belt along with a name tag not a vest. He appeared at the back counter making eye contact with everyone or attempting to surveying the area like a mall cop " uncomfortable". I understand the license to carry but this was an Ace employee loading and unloading into customers car, stocking. There's allot of liability with being an employee and carrying a gun at work. Are you trained to use it in this setting, what if it drops while you are working and fires, are you capable of protecting everyone if there is an altercation? Why are you purposely staring at everyone making eye contact?? I asked to speak to the manager, no reason was given as to why the employee was carrying a firearm, he's not a police officer, not private security, no apology was given, no reason as to why. After calling the Ace corporation and lodging a complaint, they apologized and said they would investigate why this was occurring. They did say the location was privately owned. My concerns are the safety of everyone, I have years as a regional loss prevention manager with Sam's Club and 30 years in liability insurance claims. If the retailer is going to have onsite armed security then let's place all the training and certification into the position. The last thing anyone needs to for everyone regardless of training and certification to become an are med vigilantly having a bad day or just careless. Also same location cut a piece of acrylic for me and the size is incorrect, also asked them to add color into stain and they turned the stain into reddish paint. Same guy did both things and was confused about what acrylic was thinking it was plexiglass and was completely in the dark tinting stain. By and large they are on average 15/20% higher than Lowe's or Home Depot. After the pistol there we will not be going back and we've been customers since they opened.

The problem came when it was time to check out. The guy on the first register from the checkout line to the left around 1:45pm on December 24, 2024 is the reason I am leaving this review. My mom and I were next in line to checkout and the other registers were occupied by other customers alsobchecking out. When the young cashier guy finished ringing up his customer instead of checking us out next, he walks off and pretends to busy himself with something which was very obvious he didn't want to ring up anyone BUT when the next register opened up and my mom and I walked to the next cashier he immediately went back to his register to take the next customer behind us. At that moment it was extremely clear he didn't not want to ring us up for whatever reason but that was extremely rude! I don't want to say race was a part of it but I can't think of any other reason he choose to intentionally not ring us up when we had the same amount of items the customer he helped before and after us had. This really messed up our first time experience at Ollies. The cashier lady to the right side we ended up going to was very nice and signed my mom up for the Ollies Army rewards. After we left I called and spoke to the manager, I think his name is Mike or Michael. I explained what just took place and he was very nice and said he will run the cameras back and also notify upper management. We appreciate him for hearing our concern and not dismissing us. Hopefully the cashier takes a customer service course or finds a new job where he free to be rude else where. This was very upsetting to be treated the way we were and it being obvious in plain sight. Hopefully a real consequence for the young boy comes out of it.
