They look fantastic and are easy to maintain. When I went to Eric's business and asked him if he could do this and do that his response was just what I was hoping for. He said "I can do anything you want." Of all the contractors I had been researching and talking to, and there were many during almost 18 months of looking, no one had said that. The reviews I'd seen online also noted Eric's professionalism, attention to detail, good advise, competitive prices and accommodating and those reviews are correct. We like him and we trust him. We wouldn't go to any other business now for cabinets or other similar jobs that we may need done in the future.

We are currently changing the decor and colour scheme of our condo and decided to have the doors and drawers re-painted. As we were taking them down we both remarked on how they still looked like new, but still wanting a change the colour, we went ahead as planned. Our "new" kitchen looks amazing and thanks to Wade and his team we look forward to many more years of enjoying the quality they put in to everything.

Told them I needed an inch off the box and the doors obviously needed to be cut too. They did a fantastic job on the cuts for all the cab parts. And the price was great, a hundred bucks out the door. Great place to go.

Really made our 2 room and hall basement carpet purchase and install a very easy transaction. *The installer noticed a colour line running through the carpet (it was sold as an "irregular" product) he offered to mention it to Jenn to see if she would give a discount. I was happy to hear from JENN - she offered me a % back on the carpet. I felt I had to mention that it was sold as an "irregular" and Jenn said she wanted us to be happy so we were thrilled ! Compared to other "discount" flooring outlets (who wouldn't even give me a sample of the flooring I was interested in), Jordans, their installer and JENN Brooks were very professional and went above and beyond. Our carpet still looks new. As a basement project we were on a budget, but they had high- end, beautiful products also. (Install May, 2015)

Transition pieces were not properly glued down, baseboard nails were not set flush, and the caulking was poorly done--problems that are still visible today. I lived with these issues for years because fixing them once was not enough and I did not want to deal with the issue again. The manager at the time did offer me a partial refund so I didn't ask for a 2nd fix. In hindsight I should have. Recently, I re-engaged Jordans because I need to redo my flooring. Engaging with the current store manager I was told in person that we would be "taken care of" and "hooked up" because of the 2017 experience. What followed was a 10¢/sqft price reduction (about $55 total). When I raised this marginal discount, the alternative offered was removing recommended services of leveling and voiding warranty. This process wasted significant time and did not rebuild confidence with Jordan's. We chose another contractor.

It was an ugly shade of brown and also stained very easily. I drive by this place quite regularly as it's right in between my office and the Starbucks so I stopped by on my break for a quick quote and to pick their brain on how I could improve the look and feel of my bathroom. The granite surface they recommended was a similar colour that didn't clash with my walls or drawers but was also much easier to maintain. My bathroom seriously looks so much better and I've already recommended this to some of my neighbours who felt the same way. Stanley and his team took good care of me and although it was perhaps a smaller job they never made me feel like I was wasting their time. I felt the price was fair, and if I'm honest was less than what I budgeted for the job. Hopefully I won't have to do any more renovations for a while but at least next time I know who to go to!

It is simply splendid. From our first meeting with Shwan, the Project Consultant, when we discussed our vision, to the end of the project, we were part of all the decisions on everything that needed to be done. We were consulted extensively by Rose, Hoda and the Head Designer Zaineb. They listened and delivered. It was a big project with new floors, cabinets, huge pantry, fireplace, powder room, live wall, new doors and so many other details. The Head Designer, who we absolutely love, Zaineb Al-Saffar was on top of everything -- a great asset to have when we needed any communication with any concerns or questions. She worked very closely with both of us and with her Chief Contractor Mo; Mo was in charge of overseeing the whole project. Mo is great, knows his job, and is quite a perfectionist. A pleasure to work with. Central to the team, Ash and Sarah were absolutely perfect. Renovating our place like no others and recommending solutions to our concerns. The kitchen cabinets and the sitting benches by the window are splendid! Madan Mohan , from Danma Cabinets here in the lower mainland, designed and installed the kitchen and dining room. Excellent workmanship and professionalism. He responded with respect and agreement when we needed to have features corrected. He stands behind his product and workmanship!, The quality of product and workmanship by Canadian Countertops is undeniable; both the kitchen counters, backsplash and fireplace surrounding are perfect. Because of Covid-19, the live wall has not yet been delivered and installed, but this will be done as soon as health restrictions are lifted. Overall, Vancouver General Contractors has delivered well beyond our expectations and we marvel every day at how our home has been transformed. The team was professional, hardworking and produced a high standard of work. Also, I cannot sing high enough praises of Zaineb and Mo, who helped us through the whole process. We highly recommend Vancouver General Contractors!! In fact, we have hired them again to renovate our old bathroom upstairs... the design and material are state of art and it is going to be gorgeous! We impulsively hired VGC for our kitchen renovation because I was naive. I believe they do charge a…read morelot of hidden costs and push these "change order" fees that is ridiculous. They gave us a budget for certain items like say our sink... and because I wanted to choose a more expensive sink than their predicted cost, they were going to charge us a change order fee. It makes no sense, if I want to spend a few hundred dollars more on my sink why do they reap financial benefit from it when they gave us a lowball amount to spend in the first place. We were also plagued with mismanagement of our project. The project manager, Ali, they assigned to us was inexperienced and made several errors that delayed our project. He was definitely hired based on nepotism as he was the best friend of the manager, Hussain. The PM was fairly clueless, luckily my husband is a carpenter and he really had to micromanage many aspects of the project. This is a shame since we thought we were hiring VGC to take the stress of managing the projects ourselves. Then Ali left us halfway through project for personal reason. We did get a better PM, Mo after but he had to deal with the aftermath of the first guy plus the first contractor, Hamid decided to leave our project midway due to a dispute with how the company mismanaged payment to him. I was then harassed for weeks by Hamid to pay him or else he'd put a lien on our home. Meanwhile, the manager Hussain did not check in once to clarify or reassure us that we did not owe the contractor anything outstanding as we made payment on time to VGC. Then Hamid further disclosed that VGC definitely overcharge their clients and he said our project should not have taken as long as it did to complete, which left a very negative feeling for us. I felt anxious throughout thinking Hamid was going to show up and threaten my family and I have small children at home, it was not a good feeling. There was also design flaws where calculations were flawed and it required my husband to step in and alter the design and measurements. All in all the project was a disaster for us and we do feel overcharged. I do not recommend them. They were not professional and the trades they hire are also not professional. Don't be persuaded by the smooth salesman pitch from the manager, it's all smoke and mirrors because when things went wrong they definitely didn't care about their customer.
