Right from the beginning the service was excellent. We had 2 primary bedroom closets done. Matthew gave some very good advice on what we should do to make they more organized. The installation date was on time and Vikrim who did the work was perfect. He was fast and cleaned up all his area after he was done. He went over the warranty and gave us an opportunity to ask any questions. We are very happy with our closet spaces now. read more

We used California Closets for our living room and a flex guest room/office/extra rec area. Excellent service. Good communication. Not cheap, but reasonable given the product. Soo was amazing to work with. The work has transformed the spaces in our house. I would highly recommend. read more

Best service by-far (and I've hired dozens of contractors over the years.) My interior designer Kendra went above and beyond (despite my incessant questions lol). The install team was great as well! Very meticulous and attentive to my concerns (I was concerned about my bed and wall getting scratched). One thing I really appreciate: barely any smell upon installation! I have allergies/a sensitive nose so this was a huge concern of mine but luckily... there turned out to be barely any smell! Just a light, natural wood smell (no solvent or paint smell). Well worth the price in my opinion (they offer a lifetime warranty!) I'd be willing to pay for the lack of smell alone lol. Definitely using them again when I get a bigger house. Thank you California Closets, Kendra, Eden and team! I'll be posting a full review on my Instagram and YouTube channel soon, so look out for that. We had tall bookshelves built in 2 rooms. The salesperson from California Closets took the time to come to our home, measure and design shelves that fit their spaces perfectly. She was patient and flexible in accommodating our needs and budget. The tradesman who came to build the shelves was very competent, quick and tidy. We are very pleased with our experience with California Closets and would recommend them to anyone looking for custom-designed built-in storage spaces. read more

i was renovating my home. A family member is a contractor and handled the renos. I got several estimates and designs from his closet contractors. I was not quite happy with any of them. But they were very well-priced. I looked into several retail-level custom closet companies including California closets. They were all similarly priced (easily 3x more than my contractor's contacts, or even more). But among them all, California stood out for their service. I dealt with Kayla, who came to my home to take measurements. She drafted a design. Modified it to my preferences several times. Their software is super slick and I got sent 3D previews. Most impressive is their incorporation of all the obstructions, sprinklers, switches, etc on the walls which are shown in the animated previews too. You get a very good idea of the final product. Come installation day, 2 guys showed up to do all the work. They were slow, but having seen contractors do work for years now, these guys were definitely meticulous. I cannot complain about any of the service provided from design to installation, or the final product. Top notch, as far as closets go. There are a ton of customization options. Whats wrong with California closets? well, they are expensive. very expensive. And any extra choices beyond basic closets is a substantial upcharge. But I do not regret it. a One-time investment with lifetime warranty. read more

I had received quotations from other companies even before I met Heather. Not only was the consultation and design experience a whole different level from other companies but the entire experience with California Closes was an absolute pleasure. They kept me informed on my order, the pricing was transparent and within our budget (Heather was very accommodating of that in the design) and the workmen (Ebrahim and Sayed) who arrived on the day were meticulous in both their workmanship and keeping the place tidy so that we could still move around. They were done in the exact time they said and noticed flaws before I did which were rectified before they left the site, The end result in our garage, dining room and bedroom is fantastic. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They admit they are not the cheapest but I can tell say that the value for the price paid is more than worth it! read more

Terrible! Had to wait for ever for installment, they change de dates 3 times, the technician broke a shelves while doing the installation and they literally screw the pocket door while installing the shelves in the closet!!! AND the entire installment collapsed after 2 weeks in the middle of the night - I still wake up at night thinking it is happening again! I spare you the pictures. They investigated to conclude that the first technician did not solidify the structure the right way. Seriously. They came back to fix it but trust and credibility is severely damage. read more

I did some research before I contacted California closet to build a new wardrobe in the small bedroom. I had about 3 on the list before I met Kayla, the designer, in our home for a free consultation. I did not know much about California closet before and during my research reading many reviews I read repeated reviews mentioning CC charges high price, they are very professional, and many customers are happy with the result. So, I postponed 2 other consultations from other companies and made the first appointment with CC. When I first met Kayla, I wanted to go with CC because she was Friendly! professional and nice person to work with. Only thing that I hesitated a little before signing the contract was the price. Yes, as I read from other reviews, the quote I got was more than my budget in my mind. But Kayla, suggested many ways to build the wardrobe the way I wanted, so I decided to go with her. She, never, pushed me or give me pressure to go with CC. She just suggested many ways in very professional manner. As an artist myself, I liked the way she worked with the client^^ so I decided to pay more than I initially planned expecting a great quality looking wardrobe at the end. I am very happy with the result. High quality design, material and assembly teams. And a great adjustment was done after the first installation to make things better. It took me more time and money than I initially planned, but I am very happy with my new wardrobe which makes the whole room shiny. If anyone want to make certain space specially cared, ask California closet to do it. I still need to build more storages in my home, but because of the budget I decided to do one space we care the most with California closet. It was a great decision ever. I hope CC continue to offer a great service and prosper so that more people can enjoy CC product in affordable price. Thank you so much, Kayla! read more

I wanted to revamp my plain old condo closet so I decided to book California Closets to do so. Everything was seamless, from making the appointment, to the designer (Zainub) showing up for the consultation, the entire design process, to Dylan installing the unit. There was good communication all throughout the process, everything was clear and laid out in the contract. I'm super happy with the final product. It's not cheap but I think it was worth the money for the professionalism and quality of work that was done. Thank you! read more

California Closets did an amazing job on our family room built-in shelving. Guylaine Blais, the designer, designed the units in a CAD package and then patiently went through several reiterations. She was detailed and had a real grasp of the details. We were impressed with the final results, particularly by the the professional installation. read more

We chose California Closets for our long overdue bookcase project. Went to them with an idea from the internet and some thought on how to expand on it. From the first consulting visit to designs overview and small adjustments and eventually to construction we had an amazing experience. Our designer, Emma perfectly captured what we wanted and made small adjustments effectively, the team over all responded professionally and respectfully and the assembly crew was the nicest and most professional team I have seen at work. All in all, perfect job! read more

My overall experience with California Closets was great. They are very professional and offer high quality closets. I went to their local store on Granville St. to get a quote and see their products. Sue was the person who helped us there. She was very helpful and friendly by showing us the style of closets they offer, the starting prices etc. We scheduled an in-home consultation so we could talk more about what I want, her suggestions and how much it would be. Sue arrived in my place on the right time and she gave us great ideas. The consultation has no commitment and she didn't make any pressure about that. We got quote from other companies, but her ideas, professionalism and the finishing options were the best for us. The price was higher than the most of the other companies, but we were so confident about her job that we decided to go ahead and do it. Around 4 weeks later, our media center was beautifully installed with no problem! They came to my place, installed the media center on the wall and cleaned everything. Also it comes with lifetime warranty as long as the product belongs to me and I don't sell it. Thank You Sue and California Closets! You guys are the best! read more

Very deceptive name, it's more than just closets. Basically anything in your home AND garage, that's why I was here. Don't you ever get bored of looking at a garage, that cement feel? These guys have the solution, they can pretty well Martha Stewart anything lol. Even the workshop, not that I would really need to, but they can make a tough, anti-scratch that can take a beating...they have this in the very back display if someone's interested. And $8,000 lighter in your wallet haha. Sharlene's pretty friendly and clever, knew when to draw in the missus to show the closet drawers, which I have to admit, back in my GQ days, I would've drooled over the tie and sock drawers: cute little plastic individual holders, in a 6 x 8 format or whatever (I can't even tell from the pic lol), but here's the bonus---a dimmed light too. custom-make of course ;) And auto-close drawers just from a gentle push. Funny, I just watched an episode of Modern Family, and Jay makes closets with warmers for the socks, wouldn't that be something? read more

Do not deal with California Closets (especially the Burnaby location) The customer service is terrible and it is overly priced for the same melamine material you can get from another company. Honestly, save your money as you will pay 1/3 of the price going with another company. Not impressed by the designer who screwed up my closets and then the manager who constantly repeated that i signed a contract and agreed to what the designer offered. i decided to go with this company as they are the experts and trusted them. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I cannot recommend this place enough-- when renovating, there were so many things I wanted to tackle, and the company made my home's transition seamless. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but WORTH IT!! Staff and service is very professional- they thoughtfully walked me through any concerns I had and made it a seamless experience. read more

California closets is expensive, but it is a full-service experience and very high quality. We had our designer create for us a wall of built-in bookshelves and cabinetry in our living room. It is the showcase of the home. It's spectacular! The design process was painless and fun. It did take about 6 weeks between putting down a deposit and actually getting the project installed. This was a longer wait time than we were initially told. However, this is likely because this job was more complex than most, and I must say the wait was worth it. The contractors were all fabulous! Polite, efficient, and made sure every details was postcard-perfect. That is a rare experience, and made the whole thing enjoyable and fun, as renovations should be. I highly recommend this company for your next shelving/storage project. read more

They are great! They proactively suggested solutions and made enhancements to our original plan that have proven invaluable. They were very professional, reliable and fun. We would use them again without hesitation. read more

I came here to get some quotes as I am looking to get a more organized closet option for my basement suite since everything is just thrown in there with no rhyme reason or logic. One of my NY resolutions was to get more organized this year. Customer service is awesome. read more

The closets are great, but overpriced. Expect to be harassed relentlessly by postal mail advertising after the service. Despite multiple calls and emails requesting to be taken off the postal mailing list, I continue to receive reams of paper from this company. read more

Our designer, Susanne, messed up all the measurements, nothing fits. We have to rejig everything and it's not what I was expecting at all. The veneer is peeling, the drawer lining is already fraying, and the installation isn't even complete. We paid $8,000 for a bedroom closet and I would've way happier with IKEA. Save your money and stay the hell away. read more

The service (consultation) started out well. However, as we progressed with work, issues surfaced. These include problem between design and engineering, resulting in a measurement issue, and also miscommunication with installation scheduling and accounting, as today (months later) I have been approached by accounting to pay for work that was never completed. Lack of precision in work, over-priced, lack of guaranteed customer satisfaction for finished product, and lack of consistent service. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Gutted my coat closet and had California Closets create a custom system for storage, coats, shoes, and recycling bins. SO much more fits into that little closet now and it's perfectly organized - even looks great! People always ask me about it. Expensive but highly recommended, especially if you have very limited storage space. read more

After extensive reno's in our home - this is the only company that came through for us. Even with a small error in our closet height - they quickly (and happily) came to fix it. Our designer Jewel even dealt with us while she was on vacation. Professional, great quality and looks amazing. Highly recommend and will definitely hire again. read more
