I met Joe at the Home Show. I spoke to him on the phone a few days later and sent him pictures of our kitchen regarding getting an estimate for cabinet refacing. He said he showed the pictures to his supervisor, and that a rough estimate for the work to be done was in the $8,000-$10,000 range.
I made an appointment with Joe to come to our house and make a formal estimate and explain my different options for cabinet doors etc.
The appointment was for 1:00 pm. At 1:35, he was not at the house yet so I called him and asked if he was on his way. He said he had been "half-way there," and called us, but no one answered so he assumed we were busy and he apparently turned around and left. When I checked later, it seems he did call my cel, but I did not get his call and his number is not identified. He did not leave a message at all. When I spoke with him
on the phone he said that the estimate was now about $15,000 with a countertop and $10,000 without one.( I was not asking or interested in a countertop.)
He did not explain why he decided to cancel our appointment or why he would call but leave no message. If he had identified himself in a message, I could have called him back.
I asked him if this is usually the way Kitchen Tune up does business and gives estimates. I explained that we had had an appointment to get an estimate in writing. I asked him if he was coming to the house at all, and he said it would be another 40 minutes if I wanted him to turn up.
I then explained that Kitchen Tune Up had lost my business and I would be using a company that conducted themselves more professionally. read more
