I found the same camera in Maryland brand new for half the price. They were not really customer friendly.

Wonderful, helpful family business. Signed my Dad up for camera class with Cindy, who is extremely knowledgeable. He loved the class.

Cindy spent time trying to determine what the problem is and she showed me several issues.

I was really looking forward to my visit here, as I'm just getting back again at Photography and it…read morewas my first time at District Camera. Unfortunately, I left disappointed and pretty upset actually. I asked one of their Reps if they repair Panasonic FZ300's and he wasn't sure, so he asked someone older who was repairing something in the back. With somewhat of an annoyed tone and unwilling to provide more info he shouted: "we don't repair Panasonic". I found it interesting that they don't repair Panasonics, yet they do sell them here. Anyway, I asked the guy if he could please provide me with a quote for my mint condition OM Systems OM1 as I'm considering selling, sounds like he didn't believe me that it was in mint condition (less than 200 pictures taken and purchased it 2 months ago, have my receipt of it as well) so he said that I would have to bring the camera. He couldn't even give me a price range. He also told me that my Point and Shoot Sony H-20 has a bigger sensor than my OM Systems OM1, which is ridiculous. I wish I could be here giving my 5 stars to a Local Business but my experience was just unpleasant and really disappointing.

This store is usually busy which is great, and the customers almost always seem happy. I've never…read morehad to wait more than a minute for help. I like to shop here because I'd rather support a local business than just use Amazon, and the employees are very helpful and polite. Jeff in particular has been great to work with. Will come back for sure!

Listen, I've been coming here for a while now and I want to say I absolutely love it without fail…read morebut that's not always true. I will say where I can say I don't love them 100% of the time is the staff. I have seen new staff come and go, and I've seen senior staff stay (which is always nice to see them). BUT not everyone is very welcoming or polite. I don't need kissasses or anything but for those who are looking for "outstanding" sales people, I will warn you that some of the staff are a little rough around the edges. Now, with that said, I think that there are staff members who are beyond kind and welcoming and make me love this place (when they are present). I think this is an awesome store to grab what you need and even be able to talk about what products best suit you and your needs. Again, overall I love it here, there are just a few too many experiences where I've left feeling that the staff don't actually respect me as a customer - which is fine but leaves me feeling discouraged and hesitant to return.

Be careful about what you are ordering. I ordered a camera online that CLEARLY had a photo of what…read moreI wanted (because I own one) and the correct model number. I clicked through to the site from Google Shopping and it did not say unavailable or anything, but the exact same photo (price, too) came up with a slightly different model number, so I didn't notice a missing 0. My receipt shows the same camera. Mo refuses to apologize. He said he would refund it if I send it back. I had the camera shipped out of the country at extra expense and sending it back will cost more than the purchase (taxes, shipping 2 ways) The product does not match the photo.

Pro Camera is a bit of an unconventional camera/photo store because it's really a small retail…read morestorefront, behind which the main business is focused on camera repair. In the retail part you can buy a small to medium selection of film/digital cameras and supplies, but it's not the place to go for rack after rack of all the latest brands and models. They do have current offerings from a selection of digital brands for which they are dealers, but it's not huge. For film photographers like myself, again, they have a decent selection of film in various formats, but it's not as extensive as you'll find in larger stores. I try to buy my film from them when I can, because their pricing is the same as I can get anywhere and I want to support the small businesses that film photography absolutely depends on. The biggest threat to film photography's survival is the giant online retailers. Beyond the somewhat limited modern digital camera/lens selection, Pro Camera is one of the very few places you can buy expertly serviced film-era equipment or get your own properly serviced. I see on some of the other reviews people are complaining about pricing; well, in this area, you truly do get what you pay for. If you want a cheap film camera, go ahead and eBay it, but if you want a camera that will work properly and perform to factory specification for any length of time, the equipment at Pro Camera is a very smart investment. All the film cameras on their shelves in-store are expertly serviced, tested with very specialized instruments, and film-tested. In most film camera stores, little has been done other than a wipe-down and wind-and-click testing. Rarely does any store do professional testing with dedicated instrumentation; film-testing is pretty much unheard-of. Pro Camera is exceptional in this regard. By the way, the selection on their website is much smaller than in-store. I don't know why; I think it would be smart of them to offer all their gear for online purchase, but that's just me. The team behind the scenes at Pro Camera are world-class at servicing film cameras; it is rapidly becoming harder to find anyone even somewhat competent at this, and that makes it all the more extraordinary that they are playing a long-game and actually investing in expanding the number of technicians they have. I do camera repair myself and, as most camera repair technicians have done, I have sent my own equipment to a variety of others for repair. There's literally no one better than Pro Camera. And this brings me to my next point, the wait to get a camera serviced can be very long. That is a testament to how highly regarded Pro Camera's repair service is, among those who know the industry. So be prepared to pay what it's worth, and wait for it to take the time it's going to take, but getting it done right is worth it.

I want to support a local shop but with the prices and selection honestly you're better just…read moreordering stuff online.
