We enrolled our 6 month old son to attend daycare here because the location was super convenient for us. However, we received almost zero communication after we enrolled. We never received a completed contract to sign, we had to call several times to ask to be billed for our start date, and we tried to contact the facility for over 3 weeks prior to his start date. We called every couple days throughout the day in an attempt to reach someone (over 15 times total) and never received a call back. We ended up emailing asking for additional information when we were a week out from his start date and still received nothing. Finally, we contacted the director over email again to let her know we were not going to be paying or bringing our son in. She then got back to us and said they weren't even in that facility at the time and to bring him to a different location for care. If I hadn't reached out and continued to beg for information we wouldn't have even known. We would have just showed up at the original place and we wouldn't have been able to get ahold of them since they don't answer phones. Super unprofessional with an utter lack of communication or care for the families signed up to attend. I wouldn't trust them with my child at all. read more

My daughter has been attending KinderCare for the past year and we love it. I had to return to work when she was 3 months old and I was a nervous wreck. I was able to call and check in on her constantly, which I did and was greeted warmly each time. The teachers have different theme and activities for each month and for each age group. KinderCare also utilizes an App to share what your child's day looked like (including meals, naps, diaper changes), requests supplies (wipes, diaper, extra clothes), and you can correspond with the teachers and director directly. They'll even take pictures and share them with you on the App. You can add others, such as Grandparents so they can view the child's report as well. During this pandemic, the staff has been awesome. They've been taking extra precautions and have been very committed to keeping the kids safe and healthy. I've been impressed with how they have navigated through these tough times. It hasn't been easy but they're doing a great job. All in all, KinderCare is a great daycare that I trust to take care of my little girl. She LOVES going there and reaches for the staff when we arrive. I've had a great experience and I'm positive my daughter has too. read more

I gave this place a 5 star review before they charged me for something I wasn't aware of, last minute. One morning, I went to drop my 3 children off and Mrs. Jens assistant stopped me and said, "you can't drop the kids off until you pay off your balance". I asked her what balance she was talking about, and she said, "it should be on your account, and it's been overdue for about 2 weeks now". I was confused because I paid my monthly amount, and I never received any warnings from Jen, or Sto, prior to that drop off about this random balance. Not only would I be late for work, but it would've been a no call no show if I wouldn't have paid the money that morning. Later that day when I picked up my kids, Mrs jen threatened to kick my son out for his behavior, and told me I should be grateful for her taking in my Autistic son. Instead, I'm ungrateful to her and the staff for questioning a bill I never received until I dropped off my kids in the morning before work. First off, it's a daycare, their job is to watch children REGARDLESS of their disabilities, and I shouldn't be GRATEFUL that someone is dealing with my son, ITS HIS RIGHT to be treated like every other child in that daycare center. Second off, me questioning a bill, is my right, and for her to get angry about that, really showed me her true colors. After that incident I did report this to Family Support. Mrs Jen was cordial afterward, but I could tell it was strictly business after that. I gave Mrs. Jens assistant Sto and another worker a 2 weeks verbal notice that I was leaving the daycare due to my sons autistic meltdowns at the daycare and how they're getting worse after the whole random bill situation. They told me they had no idea why he had so many meltdowns, but then when I get in the car with my son, he tells me he tried talking to them about things and they either dismiss him, or still punish him for a rule he never knew about. I figured since there was an issue between me, Jen, and Sto, they can't be mature about things so, they involve the children in adult matters and take their anger and contempt out on the kids. Since they knew my son didn't like to be treated unfairly, they would do it purposefully, and so often he'd start having meltdowns. After I took my kids out of daycare, I received a random bill again. Not sure for what if I took my kids out waaay before the new month started. I called Jen to see what the bill is for, and she said she'd call me back to see what's going on. Months later, no call, no nothing. I finally call Family support and asked why I'm getting billed for time my kids did not spend there, and I gave a 2 weeks verbal notice for. Family support literally told me, "it has to be a written 2 weeks notice". I confided in the workers to remove my children and unenroll them, and I know that's such a bad move on my end to trust the two women who treated me and my children with contempt, but i always hope people aren't as manipulative and conniving. I hoped they respected a verbal notice, but if you're going to take your kids out of this daycare, make sure to do a WRITTEN notice, or they'll take advantage of the loopholes and charge you for services, especially if you left after you reported them for unprofessional behavior. Favoritism, and retaliation is their game here, so don't take your kids here unless you're willing to get taken advantage of and put your kids in an abusive atmosphere. read more

Lifesaver. Literally I had came into an unexpected event and my sitter had to leave out of town. I'm so thankful I found KinderCare. Jenn is absolutely awesome and was able to get me a spot for my son. I love, love love the staff and the place! Everyone there is so nice & good with the kiddos! Friday November 5th 2021. I had a bad experience at little bear daycare, it ended in my daughter getting Disenrolled, I was calling around Reno and Sparks area for new daycare's. I called this daycare Ms.jen picked up the phone I told her the situation she told me to stop by the daycare have a tour and fill out paperwork. As soon as I arrive, Ms.April gives me a packet to fill out, I then saw Ms.April walk to the older class that just got off the bus, and are now line up in the hall way. They were being a little loud, ms. April told the older kids to shut their mouths. As I'm doing the tour Ms.jen escorts my daughter and I outside to the play area, she introduced my daughter and I to Ms, Tonya, as soon as we walk out there I saw Ms.Tonya grab a little girl by the arm and yank her over to the table they had against the wall. I called back later that day to tell Ms.Jen. And she said she would address it. Monday 11/8/21 she said we wouldn't be able to start anymore because of a family that didn't leave yet, but i think it's because of what I witnessed and heard from ms. Tonya and ms. April. My kiddos have attended two Kindercares, one in California and then this one. This Kindercare is AMAZING! Everyone is so nice and not only to the kids but also to myself and all the other parents(as far as I can see.) Its sometimes hard leaving your kids all day, but they make me always feel very comfortable leaving them. The directer is so pure, loving and kind. She really loves those kids and it shows in how she runs the daycare. This Kindercare is teaching my kids so much about life. I have seen a massive positive shift in my kids behavior since moving to this location. They come home, everyday happy and ready to tell me all about their day. The facility is very clean and they are doing everything they can to keep the facility safe from... ya know covid. They are also amazing with explaining to the kids about how its important to stay safe. I promise you you will not make a mistake picking this Kindercare for your children!!! read more

Only teacher I would trust would be the infant teacher. If you have older kids and don't mind them getting pushed around or screamed at by an ADULT teacher!!!! also they don't tell parents when a teacher has been rough with their kid. We started at this school after our son had been kicked out of two other preschools for behavioral issues.  At the time, our pediatrician had just diagnosed him as ADHD and we were starting therapy to work on his behavior but his prior school wasn't willing to help him.  It was literally two days before he needed a new school and the one we had lined up flaked on us at the last second, leaving us high and dry.  I went in and saw Maggie and gave her the 100% honest run down of where we were and the issues our son was having and she promised me a spot for our son and that she would work with us through his issues.   He didn't change overnight, in fact it took about three months, but he improved immensely under their care.  They showed incredible patience and understanding of our sons issues and truly worked with us to get him ready for Kindergarten.  When we started there, we had no hope that any day would be a good day for him with the issues he was having, but now we know that the people caring for him do genuinely care and understand that not every 4 year old is going to be a perfect child all the time.  Now he goes weeks without a bad day and they call me if he is getting out of hand to help calm him down rather than just send him home as other schools did.    Maggie went above and beyond for our family here.  She got some "breakdown" boxes that have a lot of tactile toys in them specifically to help our son focus when he was having problems that work wonderfully.  She really does show that she cares for the kiddos under her care and if you are working on correcting the issues your little one is having, she is more than happy to work with you and give you advice.  The one time we had an issue with the school, she called me while on the other side of the country for a conference to talk about it and the issue was handled very well.    Thanks to their help, my son is ready to start big kid school in the fall! read more

Our 3 kids have been going to kindercare for the last 3 1/2 years. They look forward to coming everyday. They love the teachers and the center coordinator. We love that they provide so much structure for the kids and help ours with homework after-school. They have so many projects and fun things like slip and slides and water days and theme days in the summer. It's nice to have somewhere that we can trust the staff to take care of our kids while we are at work without any worries. We recommend kindercare to other people because we know how jard it is to find good child care that u can trust, and that your children love too. read more

If you have special needs children I would highly suggest that you look elsewhere.. I was lied to by the director of the daycare and told that they could handle my son who was on the autism spectrum and has ADHD. When my when my child started there Everything seemed to be going well and then I kept getting reports of him being violent with teachers and other classmates. This seemed very out of character for my son considering the fact that he has been in daycare since he was 2 years old and has never had these incidents before. Further investigation into this and it turns out that the teachers didn't like and would ignore him, yell at him, and ultimately would just send him home. Over time he learned that if he is mean he gets to go home with mommy. I offered tools and ways to help keep him calm and to help this behavior and none of it was ever applied by any of the staff. I my was treated horribly and was abused by the staff, mostly the assistant director stow. read more

FYI new staff! Untrained lazy Inflexible rude and completely unprofessional. They have called me to pick up my kids twice because they didn't have their paperwork completed and were afraid they wouldn't get paid. The director got my email incorrect and wouldn't fix it so I couldn't log onto the kindercare app to check on my kids for a whole month! I asked her several times to check it and I stopped when she told me no other parents had trouble logging in. I finally called technical support to fix her mistake. The director also expelled my 3 year old son after two days for running. Didn't even give him a chance. Then they intentionally played game's with me for a month saying he could come back after this or that and then would say oh no he cont come back we have to do this now. The director and the billing director wouldn't even give me a refund after I paid a whole month for him. The director actually lied to inclusion services (a non profit who helps child care providers get needed training to avoid kids being expelled) saying I made the choice to withdraw my son. And that he could come back whenever I brought him back. Six weeks later he still isn't allowed back. Now I have to wait for another employee to be hired before he can start. The staff has complained twice directly to my kids that they either need to tell me to pick up earlier so they can go home and that they can't do distance learning their because it's homework so do it at home. Although the director told me buying a laptop for my child to bring there to do distance learning was a requirement. read more

I would give this place zero star's if I could. They cannot keep staff and they mistreat and overwork the staff that they do have. My child hated going to school and never was dropped off in the same class for more than a few days which made it hard for him to adjust. They also say they have curriculum which you never see translated over to your child. Parents keep looking for another preschool option. read more

Can't say anything but positives about this company and the staff that have become like family to us. I'm able to go to work and know that my daughter is being provided the best care. My daugther has been there for just six weeks. We had an especial conditions which was a very good price. After three weeks they said us that it was over and we had to pay for the normal price, we were not able to afford that and we had to decide stop going. Our daugther is two years old and that has been tough. Indeed, we were trying to reach an agrement for the last week to can keep going, but today, two weeks after my daughter stoped going, I am still waiting for an answer. Kindercare on Prater and Mccarran has been trusted by my family for 20 years! Unfortunately, with great disappointment they have had a shift or a black cloud following them. I have witnessed kids getting out of the school without staff knowledge heading towards busy Mccarran Blvd as well as staff yelling inappropriately at students for simple things that normal children do.. This school needs to be shut down! The kids are not safe in some classes and the staff is a joke! read more

I only used this facility twice as backup for my regular day care. The first time I picked my son up he was in different clothes than when I dropped him off. When I asked why they said that he had wet through (he was 1 at the time) during his nap. Fair enough. When I got home and went to put his clothes in the wash, I found that he had vomited all over them. They either didn't know or didn't care to tell me. It wasn't in the daily notes either. The second time I picked him up he has chewing on a piece of jagged plastic about the size of a grape. Not only could it have cut up his mouth, but he could have chocked on it! Nobody was paying attention to him and noticed he was chewing on something. The cherry on top is that the center double charged me for one of the times he was there. I have proof that he was with his regular day care during the extra days that I have been charged. They have sent the account to collections and over a year later, they refuse to have it taken off. The latest excuse I received was that "our books are a mess from that time, so you will have to be patient." This is effecting my credit!! They didn't even tell me before it went to collections. No supervision, no accountability, no help to straighten up their mistake. read more

I've had my child at this facility for awhile and not only does she love it, so do I. The staff has been extremely accommodating to me and easy to work with and have really worked with me regarding schedule changes and last minute adjustments. My daughter loves her teachers, and she is always coming home with crafts and projects. Regular updates each day upon pick up with the teacher makes me feel like they are really involved in the success of my child. I am also very happy with their food schedule and choices. The menu for that month is clearly posted and I am happy that it is 99% fresh and unprocessed foods. There is very little 'screen time' for my child's age group and the day is mostly focused on participation, learning through games and songs, and structured time for desk work (crafts, practicing writing and projects). I am always alerted immediately when she is ill or having an off day so I can come pick her up or come talk to her. Incident reports keep me abreast of what has gone down during the day. The facility itself is very clean, the staff seems happy and so do the other children. read more

So this has been a bad experience from the beginning. It started when the director would never call me back. Then would tell me to come in to do paperwork to tell me to bring it the day I want to drop my kids off. When I dropped my kids off there wasn't anyone there to go over paperwork. Then trying to put my 3 year old in the room and they stated that if she isn't potty trained she needs to be in the 2 year old room. Not asking if I'm trying just if she's potty trained. So 3 hours into it we get a call & we need to pick our daughter up because she scratched 4 kids. What I found out later is that my daughter got bit on her chest near the nipple but that wasn't reported. Too many children not enough staff. They aren't aware of what's going on. I went to the insurance company next door, and as I was parking in the lot on the other end of this daycare, I heard a woman screaming at a whole table of 1-3 year olds. This woman, Kelsey, was bent over screaming at the child with her face about a foot away from the child's face. I drove over to the fence and told her that she shouldn't be treating someone else's kid that way. I told her that the ONLY reason the little boy was crying was because Kelsey was screaming in his face. A worker next to her in a red shirt proceeded to tell me that if I had an issue, I could leave or go talk to their director. I went in to discuss with the director that a whole table of 1-3 yr olds were crying while being screamed at in the face. The director said she would talk to them. Meanwhile, one of the agents in the office next door mentioned that he could hear an adult screaming from inside the office as well. Very unprofessional. I would never send my children to this daycare. read more

McCarran KinderCare has been the absolute best daycare I could ever imagine putting my children in! We have an almost 3 year old and 3 month old! Our 3 year old has gone there since he was 6 months old! The entire staff is beyond sweet and caring! They always go the extra mile and address any concerns we had immediately! There are extra safety precautions for making sure the kids are safe and protected, requiring a code to get in at all entrances. They have a park like setting in the back for the kids to go outside and play on and if the weather is bad, they do activities with them inside! Had it not been for me deciding to be a stay at home mom, my children would still be going there!! In fact, when they had their last day I cried knowing they wouldn't be going to an amazing and loving school anymore! We plan to still keep in touch with them and if we ever need a daycare again, KinderCare will always be our go to school! I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

PLEASE READ: I toured this place two days ago to possibly put my 4 month old when I go back to work... left sick to my stomach, crying, and calling to complain to Washoe County. 9 infants in the room with only two staff. (Law is 1:4 ratio) A baby (CLEARLY unable to lift his head yet) on the floor, face down, arms at his sides, crying the ENTIRE TIME I was there (about 20 mins) When I asked about it, they said "oh Tummy time is good for them..." She didn't turn him, comfort him, acknowledge him...NOTHING. No bouncers or swings...just a bunch of little babies laying all over the floor. I can only assume that is a policy because an infant was injured because I've never seen a daycare that has infants just scattered all over the floor. Every negative thing (which was Alot) that I pointed out, they quickly made a terrible lame excuse for. If you care for you child, DO NOT GO HERE! I'm sickened just thinking of that poor little guy face down on the floor. Washoe county said they "weren't breaking any regulations" and asked me if I was a "first time mom" (wow...rude) First time mom or Fifth time mom, doesn't matter.....I wouldn't be okay with my baby being left on the floor like that for 20 minutes straight, crying, unable to move, and not attended to. These people are here for a paycheck, not because they want to be and that was so obvious when I went to look at their infant center. Do your research since it's obviously acceptable to treat babies this way. read more
