Went to Dr.McBride after seeing the reviews and watching his video on the site talking about how he likes the complicated cases that no one else would take. My case is complex. I was beyond excited to get in with him. The initial appointment went great and for the first time in years I thought I was going to make progress. My bloodwork came back with a high marker that would explain my symptoms. I was excited to follow-up with instead I can a call from the staff saying to avoid the allergen. I explained that I'm continuing to have symptoms and they said they would reach out to him to find out if I could have another visit. No response. Finally went to another allergist and got diagnosed and treated based on the bloodwork that was run at his clinic. It is sad I had to go to two of the same type of practitioners to get help on such a time sensitive issue. That said, please do not waste your time on this guy. It seems like based on the other reviews, The Everette Clinic or Dr. McBride are not interested in cases that are more than one appointment. read more

Honestly, he's my husband's doctor but I like to review doctors because it's REALLY hard to find doctors in this area that I like very much. I like it when I can read someone else's opinion so I thought I'd share mine. Our primary care physician usually refers us to excellent specialists when the need arises and our first visit with Dr. McBride was surprisingly disappointing...maybe he was having an off day but he really rushed us out, made us feel like we had no business asking questions and that it was inconvenient for him to have to explain things. We both walked out to the parking lot and said to each other that we didn't like him. The tests that he ran showed that my husband has a gluten allergy and necessitated follow-up in several weeks. The office sent him a very outdated gluten-free diet guideline sheet and scheduled him for another appointment. Still not impressed with the outdated and inaccurate guideline, we weren't thrilled about going back but were pleasantly surprised. The doctor answered all of our questions in a VERY detailed manner and even addressed a secondary issue that came up during the conversation. He is clearly on top of the latest developments in his field and was much more personable than our initial impression. read more

Dr. McBride is an "out of the box" thinker which, for someone like me, is exactly what I needed for my extremely difficult chronic condition. Over 15 years I've tried everything including medications, surgeries, holistic treatments, diet changes, etc. Nothing has ever worked long-term. McBride backs his treatment advice with very thorough data and personal experience. On that note, I will say he does talk...A LOT. He is extremely knowledgeable and is constantly educating himself on the latest and greatest research so that can sometimes lead to an overflow of info and him kind of talking AT you instead of WITH you. I quickly learned it pays to politely interrupt/talk over him and redirect back to the conversation/issue at hand. To me this isn't a deal breaker, but to some it may prove to be frustrating or annoying. Bottom line: He knows his stuff - and I'm thoroughly impressed with the treatment options I've been given. read more

I thought the chemical burn in my lungs from 1985 was the continuing cause of my chronic congestion and phlegm.. I was at the point of daily choking thinking there was nothing that could be done when out of desperation I made an appointment with the Everett Clinic and was sent to see Dr. McBride. Whatever burn I got 32 years ago turned out to have no bearing on the problems I was suffering all of these years. I think the doc had it figured out in the first 10 minutes that I had an allergy of some sort and through patient methodical elimination and testing it turned out I had a mold allergy. I get monthly shots, use an air purifier, and can now sleep without fear of choking in my sleep and go all day without a cough. read more

I'm seeing Dr. McBride for allergy to certain antibiotics testing. I'm looking enthusiastically forward to finding out just which antibiotics are helpful for me. I had a reaction (many years ago) to an antibiotic that gave me hives. I told Dr McBride this and he assured me the answer will be found. I find his way of talking and wealth of knowledge re: my situation...to be understandable and informative. The office staff and the Doctor get an A+ from me. I will continue to see this Doctor. read more

Dr McBride is responsible for placing my wife on Steroids to treat a chronic sinus condition. He placed her and then left her on a daily usage of steroid for years without ever warning her of all the horrible side effects eventually to follow the prolonged use of these steroids. She began to awake to the realities of this quick fix and the horrific side effects years later from severe physical symptoms she began to experience. By then no other specialist would get involved with her case. They would question and scrutinize the prudence of any physician placing a patient such as her on steroids indefinitely just to treat sinus condition. The steroids did an amazing job in the beginning for a few years as they would be expected to, and for this reason my wife thought of McBride a genius. He also likes to boast occasionally how he teaches part time at the UofW as if this somehow is a testimony to his competency or judgement as a physician. However as the years went on and at one point he had even forgotten he still had her on steroids unless of course he was kidding by that comment, the physical symptoms became impossible to ignore, but by then it was irreversible and eventually her health would deteriorate substantially, causing her to slowly become disabled, then bed ridden and finally ending with her death. Oh and the best part, when confronted with these facts and they mixed up the appointment times after a 4 hour one way drive, Everett Clinic sends out a letter stating you should seek care elsewhere. read more

Completely unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment for my husband because of the online reviews. After waiting for almost an hour to see Dr. McBride, the appointment was unreasonably long and inconclusive. Dr. McBride went off on tangents about things unrelated to the appointment. He didn't even consider the foods my husband had eaten and had violent reactions to. He didn't tell him what foods to avoid while my husband waited for the results of the blood test. He didn't tell him what to do in case he had another violent reaction. My husband had been there for three hours and came home with no answers. After being told that he would be contacted the following Monday with the results (the appointment was Wednesday), we still hadn't heard from the office for two weeks. We called to get the results, and they said, "It looks like they're in. We'll have a nurse call you to explain the results." Here we are a few days later, never having received that phone call, so my husband called back and the nurse couldn't read the doctor's notes. When the nurse finally called, she said that the doctor recommended something called "oral challenges," which essentially means that you eat three times as much as you normally would--of eggs, beef, corn, etc.--to see if it makes you sick. When my husband asked what to do in case he reacted, she said to "take some liquid Benadryl and try to relax." What? That's ridiculous. I've never had such a bad experience with doctors in this area. (I'm the one going to appointments usually.) I would not recommend Dr. McBride. I'm sure he's okay, but based on this experience and the lack of communication (especially given my husband's horrible allergic reaction that seems to be of no concern to Dr. McBride's office), I would not recommend Dr. McBride to anyone. read more
