I've tried to give this sandwich shop multiple chances, but unfortunately they continue to disappoint. My most recent visit really sealed it for me. I came in around 8:20, and instead of being greeted or helped promptly, the staff seemed more focused on complaining about customers coming in late than actually taking care of the ones standing right in front of them. After waiting to order, I was then told they were completely out of potatoes--which is a major part of their menu. It's frustrating to deal with poor preparation on top of unprofessional behavior. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unwelcoming. We've seen so many of these and never stopped in, but my husband decided we were going to on a Saturday morning. Sad we waited so long to come here. It's a wonderful option for a tasty lunch in the Clermont area. It reminds me of a Corner Bakery or Panera - but more reasonably priced and much bigger portions than the latter, so therefore much superior imo. It has salad, soup, sandwich, and baked potato options. You can get a combo and choose two of these - getting a decent amount of food for a good price. I ultimately decided to get the chipotle chicken sandwich with a side Caesar salad and a Diet Coke. The side salad was so much bigger than I thought it would be! The croutons were stale but that's the only real downside I have for this restaurant. My salad had a lot of dressing (some might say too much but not me) and the dressing had good flavor. The chipotle chicken sandwich was as spicy as I hoped, and I loved the jalapeño bread it comes on, which is such a unique thing I haven't seen anywhere else. Brand new restaurant built to replace an old Burger King. Started off great and is now back to a poor quality, shit show like it was before. I hope this review finds the owner/GM of the store in Clermont. Our cashier was Alyssa (I believe this is her name, she wore glasses). We wanted to give her an outstanding review because we witnessed her not only with us, but with the customers after us, super attentive, caring, helpful, and patient. We didn't know what we wanted to order but we knew that we liked a sandwich that was no longer on the menu. She knew what we were talking about and helped us build exactly what it was. Decided to try McAlister's Deli for dinner. we arrived and were instantly greeted by Alexander. He was so polite and patient with us and explained the menu to us when we had questions. We (all 4 of us) chose something different off the menu and were all surprised by the size of servings. The taste of the food was great! I got the French dip and loved the fact that the au jus wasn't overly salty. Also recommend getting the Witch's Brew (Green Apple Lemonade) while they are offering it. The ambience was great as well. I like the food and the menu has many interesting items. The older woman who took my order, had sort of a bored, disinterested look on her face the whole time. I guess because I made her get up from the table with the other staff members to take my order,. The same older woman was pushing a younger girl to take a break. This location is in a great place with ample parking, tons of seating (indoor and outdoor), and really helpful employees. I was definitely overwhelmed by the menu and couldn't decide and the cashier was great about offering ideas, their favorites, and steering me away from things others didn't enjoy. All of that known, my food was only okay. I'm not sure if it was the items that I chose or the food overall, but I don't think i need to get either of the items again. First, I had the Jalapeño Turkey Crunch sandwich. I was worried the jalapeño would be too much, but it wasn't. It was a nice blend of turkey and spice..but, it wasn't really that good. It was definitely the better of my two items, but with all of the other sandwiches, I am sure there is something that has more flavor. Paired with that I had a Grilled Chicken Spud. This was the most dry baked potato I have ever had. When it is prepared, they just slice the potato in half and add the toppings, making it very difficult to eat all together since the potato is just holding the toppings. This particular location of McAlister's Deli was just not up to standards. It want busy with customers, in fact they had one entire side (the larger dining room area) completely shut down/closed off. The other side had dirty/unbussed tables and even the tables that didn't have any plates, bowls, cups had food crumbs all over them like no one was cleaning/sanitizing tables after the were cleared. From what we could tell, during our brief visit it seemed like there were only a few teenagers and maybe one young 20 something running the restaurant. The food was awful. A chain that's more well known in the West coast, we found this one in Clermont. We happened to be in the area so we headed in. They have plenty of parking and lots of seating. You will go to the counter to order, they'll give you a number and they'll bring the order to the table. I opted for the pick two meal with a half sandwich and the broccoli cheese soup. Hubs did a chicken baked potato. Cashier was really nice and helpful. Check in for a free cookie!! Food came out fast and was a ordered. What has happened to McAlister's or is it just this one store? I have always been a fan of McAlister's Deli, have eaten at several of their stores in different parts of the country, but this one in Clermont has had issues since day one. They are almost always out of a few things, so you cannot order exactly what you want, this was even before the pandemic. Before this visit they didn't even have potatoes. On this visit they did have potatoes, but it was not cooked very well, and almost had a soapy taste to it, and the chicken noodle soup had very little chicken at all, was mostly just the broth and a few noodles here and there. On the upside the iced tea was very good as usual. Seemed that we were there when quite a few of new staff were being trained so maybe this will be a good sign of things to come? read more

I am sitting here waiting for my half sandwich and cup of soup. It's been nearly 20 minutes since I ordered. I'm on my lunch break, it took me about 10 minutes to get from my desk to here. About 15 minutes in line, while I watched 2 people watch the kitchen window and one woman wait on a customer. The guy in front of me left after a few minutes. He was the only customer in front of me other than the customer being waited on. The woman that was taking orders has to be new as it took about 5 minutes for me to place the order. So now, it has been over 30 minutes since I ordered. I finally went to check on it and it was a cashier error. I'm not mad about it, things happen. The manager refunded my $15. I will continue to review the food when I get it. About 5 minutes later I have my food. I am including pictures. I ordered the pick 2, with half a grilled chicken croissant and the broccoli cheddar soup. The croissant was burnt on the edges but edible. I wasn't impressed. The pickle was better than the sandwich. Now the soup, it was hot, thick, creamy, cheesy and had plenty of broccoli. The "famous" lemonade is just slightly above average. A group of friends and I decided to stop here for dinner one night by recommendation of another friend. This isn't your typical deli it's more of a quick service soup and sandwich place. Since we weren't familiar with the menu and it had quite a bit to look at so my Mom and I stepped to the side so others could go ahead and order which seemed to upset the cashier. When we were finally ready we walked over for her to take our order and she was less than happy to assist us. She went through the motions as she took out order. Once we finished paying she gave me the receipt and our table number and for her to fill our drinks so we could take a seat. After what seemed like forever our orders came out, my Mom and my friend's soups were somewhere between room temperature and tempid. My Big Nasty and mashed potatos were about the same. Since we had already waited for the food for as long as we had, we didn't feel as though it was worth bringing it up since while we weren't in a mad rush we did have somewhere to be and didn't want to waste more time wasiting for them to reheat and/or remake our food. Despite my open faced sandwiches lack of warmth, it still had good flavor and it was big enough to share. I was a religious visitor 2-3 times a week for over 2 years. A few months back I went to get the same meal I was getting the past 2-3 years and this time they told me no. They refused to warm up my wrap which I always had warmed up. They brought the wrap out disheveled and unwrapped. I went back up to get a corrected wrap and tried to ask for it warm again. The manager brought it out, DROPPED it on the table in-front of me and said "viola" then left. The wrap was still not warm, and I refused to eat it after how it was placed in-front of me. I told myself I was never going back, and still to this day, I have not gone back. Worst experience ever. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed as I went 2-3 times a week for over 2 years. You get a great value at McAlisters's! I got a half soup (Broccoli cheddar) and half salad (chicken pecan) and the portions were giant! The taste was a good alternative to Panera. Not my cup of tea. I ordered a club and a side of tomato bisque. The cashier advised that the soup was $2 extra which I was fine with but when it was served the soup was no bigger then a small coffee mug of soup and was charged $3.09 for it. So I paid full price and never got the advertised side that comes with the sandwich. Super salty and definitely not what is traditionally considered a bisque. Also, the bread on the club is extremely too thin and dry. Probably explains why there is 3 layers of bread. The meat in it was fresh though so that was cool. The turkey club was puny, for almost nine dollars, it is ridiculously overpriced for two ounces, if that, of turkey, and one slice if bacon, cut up. Plenty of lettuce though! The kids' french bread pizza was a great bargain, however. $2.89 and came with a fruit cup. If your kid is really picky, I would ask for them to skip the seasoning. Got the chef salad tonight. It was mostly a bowl full of lettuce. There were some tomato's and cucumbers that weren't even peeled. Oh and a few slices of really thin lunch meat. They were generous in adding in even the ends of the tomato's....you know the stuff you normally cut off and toss? My husbands sandwich had more meat on it than this chef salad. When I got it home, I added onion, cheese, olives, and more meat, as well as Italian dressing. (They didn't have any.). Next time I'll just make my own and not bother to waste money on a bowl full of lettuce. read more
