The coolest part of MCA by far ... is the rooftop Cafe & Bar. After a quick cruise through the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, we discovered the best inspiration of the whole visit ... at the peaceful museum cafe. The relaxing wood themes inside and comfy lounge seats outside were a perfect place to chill. The bar isn't large, but we started with drinks like a Hot Tea, Latte (with Almond Milk), and a Bottle of Beer. They were nice. Even better was a Cheese Board with La Dama Sagrata (Goat), Alp Blossom (Cow), and Idiazabal (Sheep) Cheeses. Almost as delectable was a Hummus Plate with fresh Tomato & Cucumber slices. The food, service, setting and drinks all made the MCA Cafe & Bar cool. The team behind the counter is cool. The quiet indoor space is cool. The airy outdoor lounge is cool. The upscale snacks are cool. The cold beers are cool. The downtown views are cool. Go to the MCA Cafe & Bar, you'll be cool.

Looking for the perfect quiet spot to enjoy a bite to eat, get some work done, and peep a killer view of the city? MCA Cafe is the place! How do I know this? 'Cause I'm doing all of those things, here, right now! Here's the deal: I mentioned this in my review of the Museum, but get the digital membership for $1.95 a month. This is less than a cup of coffee and gets you into MCA (and the cafe) for free, plus gives you 10% off all of the food and drink things in the cafe. So like, I ordered a salmon salad and a Pellegrino (the salad was really good, by the way) and saved $1.40 as a member. That's almost as much as my monthly membership! Whaaaaaat?! The cafe is up on the roof and really quiet during the daytime. They have free wifi and a full food + drink menu (boozy and nonboozy things available, including coffee, kombucha, local soda, etc). Make sure to take a stroll on the deck outside of the cafe for majorly good views! Also, check out their events calendar for music, pop up dinners, etc. Happy you exist, MCA Cafe!

A beautiful little cafe with an even more beautiful view! My friend and I came to do a little work and loved this spot. We had a couple treats and they were the exact type of mid afternoon pick-me-ups we were hoping for. We had to pay money to get into the cafe because because it is a part of the museum, so we walked through the galleries beforehand. However if we had just wanted to only go to the cafe we still would've had to pay that entrance fee (in addition to the slightly overpriced items). That's the only thing that would keep me from coming back all the time.

I came here last Friday to an event- Lookout Club, and totally loved the place, starting with the huge elevator! The view from the rooftop (where the coffee shop is) is breathtaking, it´s a good place to get a drink or coffee and get fresh air walking around the big deck. If you have the chance go to the Lookout Club or a party... creative dj, and unique drinks made by a recognized bartender.

When we arrived, most of the covered seating and heater areas were already taken, so we ended up sitting in one of the uncovered sections. As it turned out, that was a blessing because the views were amazing. From where we were seated, we had beautiful views of downtown Denver and the surrounding cityscape. Between the skyline, lights, and rooftop atmosphere, it created a memorable evening. What impressed me most was the ambiance. The lounge had a lively but relaxed energy, and people were friendly and approachable. It felt like the kind of place where you could enjoy a date, meet new people, network, or simply unwind with friends over drinks and conversation. My date ordered food, but I honestly don't remember everything he had. I wasn't particularly impressed with the food, but since this is a rooftop lounge, the atmosphere was really the star of the show for me. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would return for the views, the social atmosphere, the drinks, and the opportunity to meet interesting people. Perfect for: Date nights, networking, socializing, drinks with friends, and enjoying Denver's skyline.

The new space is bigger, which is nice because the old location could get pretty packed. The vibe is still completely over the top in the best possible way. Everywhere you look there's some new detail you didn't notice before. The cocktails were fantastic. Creative, balanced, and fun without sacrificing quality. And yes, some of them are literally on fire, which feels appropriate given the name. Also, I don't know who was in charge of the decor, but they clearly weren't afraid to commit to a theme. I'll just say there are some very noticeable decorative choices throughout the space that gave our table plenty to laugh about. If you're looking for a standard cocktail bar, this isn't it. If you're looking for a memorable night out, this absolutely is.

Both my girlfriend and I asked him multiple times to stop, but he continued anyway. After it became clear that he wasn't going to respect our boundaries, I raised my voice (not yelling, just firm) and asked that he stop serving us and that another bartender take over due to his aggressive and inappropriate sexual behavior. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, he immediately told both of us to leave the bar. This was an incredibly uncomfortable situation to deal with, especially on New Year's Eve, and it left us feeling embarrassed and disrespected. The first thing my girlfriend said to me the next morning was how uncomfortable that bartender had made her feel, which says a lot. I truly wish we had never gone to this bar. No one should feel pressured, sexualized, or thrown out for speaking up when their boundaries are repeatedly ignored.

-All drinks $5 - Cash Only-…read more Fun speakeasy near Union Station. Lincolns absolutely delivers on the speakeasy vibe - from trying to find the door, to figuring out how to actually get inside (LOL), to settling in with drinks once you're finally through. It makes the whole experience feel interactive and memorable. **Tip: it actually isn't too hard to find. I won't completely spoil it for people who want the fun of the hunt, but I'll leave a few hints at the bottom. The drink special that night - their version of an Old Fashioned - was excellent and absolutely worth ordering. The other cocktails are liquor + mixer with the soda or bar gun. We tried a local gin (can't remember the name) & soda and a Four Roses Bourbon & Pepsi. There was a odd flavor that came with that round and tasted watered down. Stick with the special. So good! I'd go back all day for the special alone. The staff was a little bit of an outlier compared to the rest of the experience. Everyone was nice, but they didn't seem especially engaged, and the attire didn't really match the speakeasy atmosphere. That said, the space itself is large and immersive enough that once we had our drinks, we just leaned into the whole experience and had a great time. HINTS: 1. Go to the address listed... duh. 2. Something is COOKING through the glass. 3. Find the stairs down. 4. If you hear music and see some impressive doors, figure out how to LIFT the handle to get inside.

Atmosphere: The theme here is so cool! It's all about Abraham Lincoln but with a modern, artistic twist. There's really neat artwork everywhere showing different looks of Lincoln. It feels like a true old timey speakeasy. It gets very busy after 8 PM, so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but the energy inside is awesome. Price: This is the most budget-friendly spot I've found in the area. Almost everything is $5! It is CASH ONLY, but don't worry if you forget. They have an ATM inside for you to use. Drink: I ordered the Continental, which is their take on an Old Fashioned with a black cherry. It was delicious and definitely didn't taste like a cheap drink despite the price point. Service: Despite how packed it was, the service was incredibly fast. We got our drinks in maybe 2-3 minutes tops. The staff is efficient and friendly. Overall Experience: Whether you're visiting and staying near Union Station or just looking for a fun local getaway, I highly recommend this place. We walked from our hotel, but if you drive, be prepared to look for street parking or a garage. It's fun, cheap, and has great theme nights. I'll definitely be back!
