Jennifer Hunter is knowledgeable and quick to respond to messages in the patient portal, which helps cut down on unnecessary in-office visits. Scheduling online is easy, and the office offers a clinic with extended and weekend hours, which is fantastic--sickness and medical issues don't always pop up just during the regular 9 AM-5 PM time. I appreciate that the office has a variety of educational materials and brochures on a host of different conditions, and they're also good about making referrals to outside specialists when needed. Add to this the easy accessibility on the U Street stop, and this will probably be my main doctor's office for years to come.

Not only is Dr. Snyder all of these, he has a great personality and has the gift to make what is typically an unpleasant experience, comfortable. Dr. Snyder spends a good amount of time taking a good history of what troubles you and acts accordingly. Dr. Snyder practice is at One Medical Group, which is also an amazing experience. The $199/year membership fee is well worth it. All of the doctors at the group encourage you to email them with any issues you may have. On several occasions I have emailed Dr. Snyder and received a response in less than an hour. This is a great service for both the patient and the medical group as it cuts down on wasted time with unnecessary visits to the office. The reception staff, medical staff, phlebotomists, and nurses are very friendly, with great personalities, and most importantly, helpful. The waiting room is something you might see at a spa and not a doctor's office, which may ease some people's apprehension. Unlike may medical practices these days, I have never had to wait more than five minutes for my appointment. That being said be prepared to know that this is not a "boutique" doctor's office. However, the online GWU Hospital with your medical records is fantastic. Dr. Kaufman is also extremely responsive to her emails. When she is not there one of her partners will make sure to answer any of the questions that she receives. She took the best family history of any doctor I have ever seen, and then proceeded to discuss the potential for genetic testing with me, given my family's cancer history. She also discussed the possibility of talking to my parents about their living will, which was very timely given their health condition. Seriously. The woman asked me to speak to my parents about whether or not they having a living will. Brilliant. When I have had minor issues that did not require an office visit, she is always quick to respond over the phone and call my pharmacy when necessary. Only downside - because she is so thorough with all her patients, you might end up waiting sometimes. If you are looking for a "wham bam in and out" doctors office, this is not the place. If you are willing to wait a little bit (not always) for a very warm, kind, compassionate, and knowledgable doctor, this is your place. I would literally recommend her to anyone.
