It's an express bus, so for your LinkPass holders it's a little more expensive, but it's quicker than quick because it takes the pike instead of local roads. In fact.. it might be a leetle TOO quick (just a note for those that stand). But when I used to take it.. around 8:30AM.. there were usually enough seats and very few people had to stand. All business folk too. Dare I say it was always on time? Although the drivers sort of remind me of Lloyd the delivery guy from Scrubs. You know, the air drummer (that is.. trivia point.. one of the writers for Scrubs)? So imagine Lloyd driving a bus instead of a delivery truck/ambulance. While fast, you may not always feel the safest..

Moving…read moreto a new apartment off of Comm Ave in September, I thought, hey, I'll save a little money by taking the B line to work every day. Probably one of the stupidest things I've ever done. This bus gets me from its first stop to Federal Street in under a half an hour, without the hassle of stopping at too many red lights, dealing with BU kids who have a state of the art fitness center yet can't be bothered to walk 100 extra feet to get to class, and people who smell like they haven't showered since the Reagan 80's. I have an extra half an hour in the morning to relax, an extra half an hour at night, and all for $30 a month extra. Well worth it. If you live within a mile of one of these express buses and you have to go downtown in the morning - this is the only way to travel. Pay the extra $30 - it will immediately improve the quality of your commute, and the quality of your life, and I stand by that statement.

It travels down the middle of Commonwealth Avenue (aka Comm Ave) and ends at Boston College. There are 24 stations on the Green Line, which runs about six miles. A full run at a normal time will take about 45 minutes. Busier times are close to an hour. During rush hour, the trains run often but not often enough. It gets way too crowded. I've skipped boarding trains at Boylston for 20 minutes until there was enough room for me to squeeze on. Fortunately, I don't have to commute in Boston because this would suck. I'm sorry, fellow riders! And as for the riders, I do see the occasional dude offer his seat to a more senior rider. This doesn't happen often enough, especially when the sign says right there that the seat is reserved for handicapped or elderly! There are escalators and stairs and an elevator from the platform level to the street/ticketing level. The station features visual and audible announcements of the next train in both directions, which is helpful. There are automated ticket machines for adding value or purchasing a Charlie Ticket. When I was here, there was also a red shirted "Can I Help You?" staffer to answer questions. Located between Forest Hills (outbound, the terminus of the line) and Stony Brook (inbound), Green Street is an island platform so the train doors will open on the left.

Not having to hear the PA system announce: "experiencing slight delays due to police action at such and such a station" while waiting for the train to work in the morning gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling all over. It is actually a very clean station inside too. We won't talk about the tracks further down past the platform - you could build a house with the amount of garbage gathered there - but there are trash and recycling bins a plenty, so there is really no need to drop your junk anywhere but in the basura. There is almost always an attendant manning the station. There is an elevator for handicapped citizens or mom's with strollers. Location is great, it empties you out within walking distance to the Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, the Brewery complex (although Stony is closer) and Doyles. I just can't find anything bad to say about this station - except - the hoards of English High School students who swarm the platform every afternoon from 2-3 pm. They are loud, rude and obnoxious. Model citizens in the making, if I may. Maybe I'm just bitter because I have to wait and ride with these heathens three days out of the week...if I only saw them once and a while, I probably wouldn't even mention it. But they ruin my ride into work. You can't hear your iPod. You can't concentrate on a book. You can't hear yourself think in between the hooting, screeching and swearing emitted from these unruly creatures. So I pretty much sit there, brewing, watching and listening to them, because I have no choice. Which is why I'm not a teacher at an inner city high school. Point in case. Otherwise, Green is the queen of the Orange Line!

It mostly sucks that you have to exit through a crowded train via the front entrance at night, but when has customer satisfaction ever been something the MBTA cares about?

In the interest of…read morefairness, I thought I should think of the absolute worst thing in Boston and then write my first 1 star review. Congratulations, C Line, you're the winner! (disclosure: I have only ridden the B line once, and it's admittedly worse, but the C is not far behind). For starters, go on youtube and search for "tokyo subway at rush hour." That comes CLOSE to demonstrating what the C train is like at rush hour. Nothing like starting your morning with a grouchy driver calling repeatedly through the speakers "Pack it in people, pack it in," as you are already cheek to cheek with three other people (I know, that sounds impossible, right? It's not.) and there are 10 more people trying to squeeze through each door. Forget getting a seat; you're lucky if you even get ON the train. And do NOT listen to the drivers when they say "doors are closing; there's another train right behind me." They are lying. If you can't see the next train, it isn't there. Sometimes it's 15 minutes before the next train comes. And when it does come, it might be too full to get on. The trains are supposed to come about every 7 minutes during rush hour. Sometimes they do, but it is not unusual to wait 20-30 minutes for a C train from Park Street. And don't even get me started with how often the trains break down or lose power. I would say AT LEAST weekly the power goes out, lights go off, and you have to sit there while it tries to find power again. Not to mention that there are 4 train lines that all use the same tracks once you get past Kenmore, so the trains get backed up and have to stop multiple times before pulling into each station. Do the drivers try to stop slowly? No, they hit the breaks to send you flying in a game of human dominoes since if you're packed into the middle of the train there isn't even anything within reach to hang on to. The stops on the C line are insanely close together. About every 2 blocks. And because the trains are so crowded, it takes ages for the people getting off to squeeze their way out and for other people to squeeze in. If you actually need to get somewhere at a certain time, plan on at LEAST 35 minutes to go 3 miles on the train, and well over an hour if you count time waiting for the train to arrive.

Moe (owner) picked me up from Boston Logan Airport and was promptly on time and easy to find. It was my first time going to Boston Logan Airport, so he provided me with clear directions on the phone where to go for pick up. He was waving and very friendly. I was picked up in a brand-new Mercedes SUV and it was super clean and spotless inside. His driving and presence made me feel very safe and secure. It is important to mention the price of Watertown Taxi Service!! There are flat rates from Boston, MA to Watertown, MA which is unbeatable, compared to Uber. Ordering an uber would have been $88.00 plus tip for one way but with Watertown Taxi, there are cheap flat rates. Additionally, after making my online reservation through their website, I received a confirmation email from Moe and he tracked my flight number the day of to ensure the pickup time I entered on my reservation initially, matched my actual arrival time. This Company offers transportation services to and from airports, but also provides local transportation to restaurants and any destination you are looking to go to. If you want a safe, clean ride in the Boston area, contact and use Watertown Taxi!!! They will exceed your expectations, just like they did for me.
