According to Google, the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM. We arrived at 9:55 PM, knew exactly what we wanted, and would have been in and out well before closing. When we asked for a table, the hostess told us they were no longer seating guests for the evening. While I understand restaurants may stop seating before their posted closing time, the issue wasn't the policy. It was the way it was handled. There was no apology, no explanation, and no invitation to come back another day. The interaction felt more like, "Why are you here?" than, "We're sorry, but we're unable to accommodate you tonight." A manager then came over and identified herself as the manager. Unfortunately, she was even ruder than the hostess and appeared completely uninterested in resolving the situation or showing any concern for the customer experience. At no point did anyone attempt to handle the interaction professionally or make us feel valued as customers. In a city with countless dining options, service matters. It's not always what you say, but how you say it. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left a very different impression than the excellent service I've received here in the past and I can't say that I'll be back.

I wouldn't go out of my way to come back again if I wasn't staying at the Hyatt Regency, but the ambiance was nice enough that I'm giving it 5 stars! Cheers!

The location also offers valet parking at a decent cost. Mike's is fairly large, with both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as 2 pool tables. The bartender, Stacy, was a sweetie. On a Saturday night it was fairly busy but not packed. We were able to get bar seating and ordered Teeling green tea shots, which were super yummy. (And Teeling! I haven't had Teeling since my visit to Ireland). We also ordered draft beer. They had daily specials for both drinks and food. We wanted food and ordered but apparently it was never put in. And by the time that was figured out we just would rather go home than wait any longer. (But it didn't detract from the dive bar experience, just added to it.) We also loved hearing one of the bartenders be told that they were acting kinda bitchy the last time they were in there (regulars, that lived in the building), the bartender's response, "that's because I am a bitch." Pure gold.

To start, when we walked in, the DJ had the restaurant going crazy with some great Caribbean/dancehall music. What was the most disappointing part of this experience was the service. We put in our food with someone who was helping out the staff, however 45 minutes later we were patiently waiting for our food to arrive. We did get our drinks which were tasty, and love the names of the menu items as well. I had the "Is this love" which was a tequila, watermelon basil drink that was very refreshing and not too sweet. There were multiple times that we asked several servers about our order, and apparently there was some confusion on who was suppose to serve our table. Once we finally got our food, we immediately dived in. I got mussels as my app and I did enjoy how large in size the mussels were. They came in this white wine sauce with a side of garlic bread. The bread in the sauce was A1. For my entree, I had the sweet chili salmon filet and I had really high hopes. The salmon was really good but was drowning in the sweet chili sauce. It was too much - I was expecting the salmon to be coated in the sauce, but not swimming in it. The coconut rice and veggies on the plate were good but I just hated how much the sauce overshadowed the entree. My man got the oxtails and they were so good. Also, he had the lobster mac and I was literally fork fighting him over this item. Would I come back? Maybe for a drink and vibes, but the lack of service overshadowed the experience for us.
