I recently had my wedding in Toronto and Nidhi was my hair and makeup artist. We had a tricky…read moresituation of having two ceremonies (a Hindu and a Christian one) on the same day with an hour between both ceremonies - a day like this required efficiency and extended prep. Nidhi was fantastic at creating two different looks for both ceremonies. She did my makeup first, and pinned up my hair with extensions for a Tamilian bride look. For the second ceremony, she flawlessly took the entire thing down, then straightened, curled my hair, and did a half pin up with bridal hair pins. I got compliments from many guests. At the trial, she was very flexible and listened to my basic requests of keeping things simple with the makeup (I hardly ever wear makeup). We also chatted over whatsapp several times, so that I could let her know what kind of hairstyles I liked, and what my bridesmaids liked. She was extremely efficient in doing what she had to do, in the time that she was given. When our ceremonies went somewhat off schedule, she even waited for us patiently for about an hour to do my hair for the second ceremony. She travels all the way from Milton, and covers most of Toronto. I highly recommend her if you need a makeup/hair artist for you next occasion.

Nidhi is really good about listening to what you want and bringing that vision to life while still giving honest and constructive feedback. On the day, at the time she was meant to be at my house to get us ready, asked for the address. I thought that was very strange as I live about an hour away so she was definitely going to be late. She assured me that she would bring additional team members to ensure all of us would be ready for our departure time. An hour later, when she said she would finally arrive, she let me know that she would no longer be able to do our hair and makeup. To let us know on the day, an hour after she was meant to arrive that she could no longer perform the service was completely unacceptable. She is running a very unprofessional business and I WOULD NOT TRUST HER TO SHOW UP ON ANY SPECIAL OCCASION!! You could very well be left in the lurch and scrambling to get yourself ready. She also ignored all of my calls once she said she could no longer come, how cowardly and ridiculous. She genuinely ruined this huge event for us and I really hope she feels some remorse for this but I really doubt it as she didn't even have the courtesy to answer the call. Again, save yourselves the hassle and avoid this MUA AT ALL COSTS!!!

However, on the day of my service, I became very sick due to side effects from a TB vaccine that I had to take for work. Despite informing them early in the morning and ensuring the team was aware of my condition, they refused to refund my $200 deposit, citing their 72-hour notice policy and remaining adamant about their decision. I requested for a little support as it is not possible to predict my health issues. I was even willing to provide proof of my vaccine, but they still refused. I reassured them that I would continue using their services as I really liked my stylist. I have never been a "no-show" for any appointment, yet they offered no support apart from just $50 which they can put towards my service. I can even over heard from the background where Kim was saying to my stylist "I dont care if she was sick" then when she finished talking to me impolitely I can hear her saying to her team "Look how simple it was to deal" then cut the call. I'm truly sorry that the owner showed no empathy, compassion or trust in their clients, and no effort was made to build a positive customer relationship. They didn't even offer me a chance to reschedule and rudely cut the call. Also feel sorry for the people who work their and the clients who still support this salon. I will not be returning to deal with such impolite people who give off such negative vibes.
