Standing outside in freezing weather, feeling threatened she called me. I went back in with my wife demanding an apology asking a simple question on how can you abuse a customer like that. The owner (brown bearded guy) simply lied. The guy at the counter in pink polo shirt said 'he didn't call your wife a bitch but said don't behave like a bitch'. I was aghast at this explanation. Not once did anyone try to talk it out rationally or exhibit a modest sense of customer service or basic human decency. When I demanded an apology I was almost shoved out. My wife who is one of the most soft spoken people I've ever met is still shaken, never having experienced such abhorrent behaviour in any or all the salons in different countries she has been to. Unfortunately, 911 or non-emergency Halton region hotline 311 doesn't help in cases of verbal abuse or professional misconduct. We will however try and find a channel to hold owners responsible for their actions if we can.

We had a tricky…read moresituation of having two ceremonies (a Hindu and a Christian one) on the same day with an hour between both ceremonies - a day like this required efficiency and extended prep. Nidhi was fantastic at creating two different looks for both ceremonies. She did my makeup first, and pinned up my hair with extensions for a Tamilian bride look. For the second ceremony, she flawlessly took the entire thing down, then straightened, curled my hair, and did a half pin up with bridal hair pins. I got compliments from many guests. At the trial, she was very flexible and listened to my basic requests of keeping things simple with the makeup (I hardly ever wear makeup). We also chatted over whatsapp several times, so that I could let her know what kind of hairstyles I liked, and what my bridesmaids liked. She was extremely efficient in doing what she had to do, in the time that she was given. When our ceremonies went somewhat off schedule, she even waited for us patiently for about an hour to do my hair for the second ceremony. She travels all the way from Milton, and covers most of Toronto. I highly recommend her if you need a makeup/hair artist for you next occasion.

My pain was properly addressed and my therapist was calm and delivered a great spa experience. I was offered a drink which was a nice touch. Before I had a pedi and I loved it. My feet were properly removed of hard callous and the pedi was very well done. I'm fussy on having clean cuticles and it was a perfect job. I found Utopia Spa and Boutique on google and liked what I saw on their website. I also liked the fact that the website said they provide robes and fancy drinks. Just what I was looking for! Oh ya, it was pretty convenient that they had availability with 3 days notice. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the front desk girl was very friendly and offered to take my coat. Their lounge area is so beautiful but their pedicure station is even more gorgeous! I couldn't stop staring at the big pedicure bowls lol. It just looked so glamorous. I filled out my form and my masseuse was ready to take it as soon as I was done. Most of my stars are going to the actual masseuse and massage. She was so friendly and sweet and boy, did she have power! She definitely murdered my knots with her forearm. I really wanted to give this place at least 4 stars, but the environment was just too noisy. I could hear every door open and close and people's conversations. I would hear all the loud laughter, and it was just not relaxing. The spa isn't too big either, so I guess it's kind of hard to avoid all the noise. Perhaps have the massage rooms as far back as possible, or enforce lower voices while a massage is in session? The massage room itself is cozy and they have a heating pad on the beds. There's a cute little fireplace in the corner and they turn the lights down really low while the massage is going on. Despite my experience, I might return to try out their pedicures with a girlfriend. Oh and my masseuse did offer me something to drink after the massage was done, but I declined. They also do not provide robes, slippers etc. if you're just getting a massage. I guess those are for people that book packages or have a full spa day booked.
