But our rogue thermostat proved to be a challenge. Angelo refused to give up and he also got innovative to avoid having to cut holes into the wall and ceilings even tho that would probably have been much easier for him but much more costly for me. End of the day, he found the perfect solution and when he left, I had a new outlet and my thermostat was up & running! PES is definitely my go to for anything electrical. We called about 5 times requesting to speak to someone and Cannondale just sent us a contract in the mail without ever returning our call. During the crazy storm in August of 2020, many people in our town couldn't reach Cannondale to fix their generators. We decided on A&J because of how communicative they were - they worked around the clock during that storm to help their customers. Since then, we've had nothing but positive experiences with A&J. Our generator is getting up there in age, so we had to have several service calls this year. We were able to immediately reach someone via phone and email. Each time they sent someone over quickly. One time, our generator stopped working overnight during a power outage. We called them at 5am and they had someone at our house by 7am. Soon after, they were able to replace the part and give our generator a bit more time as we navigate the process of obtaining a new generator. A&J educated us on the the changes in regulations, walked us through the many options out there, and helped us find a new spot for the generator without ruining the look of our property. They're taking care of all of the details, so the complex process is made completely effortless for us. Thus far, we're very happy with A&J.

I was left on hold for six minutes both times I called before being shunted to voice mail, and also used the online contact form. After close to two hours I get a call back saying that they had no record of the appointment and didn't have my information in their system (even though I had spoken with this same department two weeks earlier and wrote down the appointment time they gave me). This is NOT a company I would want to deal with to install or service a generator. I actually feel relieved that I dodged a bullet, but I wish I had believed the negative Yelp reviews I saw here and not wasted my time giving them a shot just because a couple of people who clearly had better experiences with them than I did recommended them on Reddit.

Generac suggested I give Northeast Generator a call. Dan was a pleasure to deal with. And unlike every other Generac Service place I called, was less interested in trying to sign me up for an annual contract, but more interested in helping me and getting to the root of my problem. Their technician (Scott) came out at our scheduled appointment, on time, and within 10 minutes diagnosed the exact problem as being the Controller / Mother Board on the generator, And as if that wasn't great enough, he had one on the truck and had it fixed and back up and running in under an hour. Electrician they contracted with wound up messing up our houses electrical system (power was flickering on and off after they left). Messed up my $1400 worth of rebates with Kohler, promised to rectify and ghosted me. Owner refused to pitch in half of rebate from Kohler (per Kohler's proposal to rectify), so I was screwed out of a $700 extended warranty, and $700 cash back. Also has to call multiple times over the installation to get this completed (i.e: no shows, and lack of coordination with propane company). Their "fixing the lawn" after installation was basically sending a low-level person, who showed up, threw grass seed over the non-raked lawn (yes they didn't even pick up the rocks), and left within 15 mins (See photos)

On Monday, I submitted a project request on Yelp for a residential electrician to convert a normal…read morereceptacle to a dedicated 20amp receptacle for a sauna that has yet to arrive. A few companies responded. One company was booked until September while another company declined. A third company was able to show up the same day to measure and provide an estimate. MacVane Electrical was the fourth company to reply but was the quickest to provide an estimate after I texted pictures of the circuit boxes as well as an approximate distance. I was hesitant due to lack of online reviews. Phil (Sr.) quickly responded in the same evening with an estimate as well as a commitment to show up the next day to do the work. Phil (Jr) arrived the next day (Tuesday) as promised along with Ray, and both got the work done in about 2 hours. Both are super nice guys. Turns out Phil and his father started the company just 6 months ago, hence there are few to no reviews online. They are friendly, clean, and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. Phil Jr was so thorough that after he finished and left, he called the sauna company to verify the type of plug the sauna required. He then came back an hour or so later to replace the receptacle to the correct type. I highly recommend MacVane Electrical Services for your residential needs and will be using Phil and his company in the future.
