I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this restaurant is incredible!! They gave us a complimentary olive spread and sun dried tomato spread with pita, which was so fresh and delicious. The lamb was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. We also had the spicy feta spread and tzatziki, which were both amazing as well. All of the ingredients were really fresh and the ambiance is so cozy and friendly. Our server, Sophia, was the sweetest and she went above and beyond. Just returned home from a wonderful meal at Mazza Mediterranean! We were headed to Patchogue Cinema Arts and this was around the corner. It has been taken over by new owners and looked interesting. Not only was it so different from what we were used to, everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and different from our usual meals at a Greek restaurant. The friendly server brought us water and a starter of pita (warm and perfectly cooked) with olive dip and a different one than we'd ever had. We ordered two apps, forgot what they were named but one had eggplant and the other was lightly fried and stuffed with a delicious filling and served with two different dipping sauces. Then a Greek salad which we split and was more than enough for two. On to lamb shank served with a pasta style rice spiced with raisins and seasoned perfectly. Even though we were totally full, couldn't resist trying the dessert. Filo dough, honey and a creamy filling baked and definitely worth eating more than we should. They are waiting for their liquor license now and have been opened for just two months. read more

My friend and I dined at Mazza Mediterranean yesterday, a first for us both. The service and the food was excellent. Our server was a delight. She truly made us feel welcome. The restaurant specializes in Greek and Afghan food. Since we have never tried Afghan food we decided to explore those dishes on the menu. Our server gave us GREAT suggestions. We shared everything. Before ordering she brought over pita with a tomato dip and an olive spread. both were delicious. We ordered two appetizers that she suggested: the Mantu and the Boloni Kachaloo as well as the Chicken Kebab. Everything was exceptional. The flavor and the seasonings were interesting and really delicious. We tried the Rice pudding Firni for dessert and it was very good. I highly recommend Mazza, whether you are familiar with Afghan cuisine or a newby like we were it was worth the trip from Lindenhurst and Hampton Bays. I'm looking forward to returning and working my way through the menu with friends and family. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more
